Rain's Magic
Listen in, to the hum Of the soft winds Sweeping across barren land Carrying rain Like a secret that belongs To the mountain tops. The fire crackles softly As her embers Choose to raise to meet their Death mid air. Thunders roar madly At the sight of the tearing skies In an attempt To reclaim their voice Before lightning strikes. The earth drinks in A wet silence Taking in the rhythmic pounding And the weight of Hurried panicked feet Rushing home. Boots fight the mud As soaked fabrics cling onto The drenched skin Drawing heat from within. Tired bones seek rest Between warm cozy bedclothes Whilst the beat Tapping musically on the roof Soothes a fatigued soul. **wambuku w.**
