In the southwest of Serbia, it spreads on the territory of the municipalities of Sjenica and Nova Varos, and it has been protected since 1971. Wondering why?

Because of the incredible beauty and great natural wealth. One of the first things everyone thinks of when talking about Uvac are the beautiful meanders of the river of the same name, which stretch from the Kokin Brod hydroelectric power plant to the village of Krstac on the road to Sjenica.

The meanders that can be seen from numerous lookouts from the surrounding villages are embellished with the only natural habitat of griffon vultures in Serbia (along the canyon of the river Trešnjica). It is said that the first encounter with amazing birds, whose wingspan can reach up to three meters, is truly unique if you are lucky, as some of the many tourists who come to this area, you can see a unique dance of griffon vultures during mating (flying to incredible heights, grab yourself with your claws and then perform a free fall) In a word - amazing.
