The Discord server and Tornado DAO governance forum linked to the recently sanctioned crypto mixing service Tornado Cash appear to have been disabled. Tornado Cash is an Ethereum-centric mixing tool which was sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control on Monday. Following the crackdown, crypto projects throughout the ecosystem have struggled with how to reckon with the fact that the U.S. government has, for the first time, sanctioned a smart contract—what amounts to software or computer code—and not an individual or a group. #tornado #dao
