Don't dwell in the past
Do you think about all the things you “should have” done differently? Thinking about the past won’t fix your problems.
Why We Dwell On The Past
Guilt, shame, and anger are just a few of the feelings that can keep you stuck in the past. You might think…
“If I stay miserable long enough, I’ll eventually be able to forgive myself!”
But this won’t work.
Problems With Dwelling On The Past
1. You miss out on the present.
2. You can’t prepare for the future.
How To Not Dwell On The Past
Shift Your Thinking
1. Give yourself something else to think about. Like watching a OnePercentBetter video instead.
2. Establish goals for the future. It’s impossible to dwell on the past if you’re planning for the future.
Don't worry about pleasing anyone
Do you always say yes to everything people ask of you?
Why We Try To Please People
1. **Fear**
People who please others are afraid of conflict, hence, they are avoiding it by making everyone happy
2. **Learned Behaviour**
Sometimes the will to avoid conflict stems from childhood. When since you are a child and you were raised by parents who were constantly arguing, you may have learned that conflict is bad and keeping people happy is the best way to prevent arguments.
The Problem With People Pleasing
1. **It Damages The Relationships With People on the brink of You**
Think of your friend asking you to go out to watch a movie or play video games but if you do that your spouse will get angry because you two already made plans. In situations like these people-pleasers will sacrifice the connection with the people closest to them to please others.
2. **You Lose Sight Of Your Values**
You will stop doing what’s right and only specialise in making people happy whether it’s good or bad.
How To Stop Pleasing Everyone
**Determine Who You Want To Please**
It’s not your job to stay everyone happy, just specialise in the people you're closest to and devote some time to creating them happy.
Why we avoid being alone
You might think that spending time alone is a waste of time. You’d rather not think about your problems, so you distract yourself with work and other activities in your life.
The Problem With Fearing Solitude
Here’s what research says are the benefits of alone time that you might be missing out on:
Solitude at the office can increase productivity. A study found that most people in the study performed better when they had some privacy.
How To Not Fear Solitude
1. Practice Tolerating Silence
With practice it will become easier. Use your alone time to write in a journal about your goals and feelings.
2. Meditate
Meditation has been linked to a variety of emotional benefits, including helping to reduce negative emotions.
Don’t Feel Like The World Owes You Anything
We all want our fair share in life but the idea that you’re owed something just because of who you are or being a ‘’know it all’’ can harm your career and personal life.
Why We Feel The World Owes Us Something
Social media fuels mistaken beliefs about self-importance.
Overindulgent parenting prevents children from learning how to accept responsibility for their behavior.
The Problem With A Sense Of Entitlement
You’ll be less likely to work hard when you’re busy complaining that you’re not getting what you’re owed.
When you don’t get everything you want entitlement can lead to feelings of bitterness as you’ll think you were victimized.
How To Not Be Entitled
Develop Self-awareness Of Your Sense Of Entitlement
Try to become more aware of these subtle moments of entitlement. Look for thoughts such as:
“I’m not following that law because it’s stupid.”
“I’m more valuable than others.”
“There’s always been something really special about me.”
Don’t Waste Time Feeling Sorry For Yourself
Imagine you break both your legs. You hop on the wheelchair and contemplate that you will be in this wheelchair for the rest of your life. How would you react?
Why We Feel Sorry For Ourselves
The reason people feel sorry for themselves when they find they’re in a bad situation is because they are procrastinating. They do not want to face life’s struggles, they choose to believe that they don’t have control over their circumstances and they play the victim card.
The Problem With Feeling Sorry For Yourself
1. It’s a waste of time.
2. It leads to more negative emotions.
3. It causes you to overlook the good in your life
To reduce feelings of self-pity, you need to change your behavior.
How To Stop Feeling Sorry For Yourself
1. Volunteer to help a worthy cause. It’s hard to feel sorry for yourself when you’re serving hungry people in a soup kitchen or spending time with elderly residents in a nursing home.
2. Exchange Self-Pity For Gratitude. Gratitude not only impacts your psychological health, but it can also affect your physical health. A study found. People who feel gratitude don’t get sick as often as others. They have lower blood pressure and better immune systems.
Sleep Smarter
What is mote important than diet and exercise combined? According to a book titled "Sleep Smarter" by Shawn Stevenson, an author and exercise expert, it is sleep.
Even the richest man in the world says he focuses on getting great sleep because it helps him to do one thing that helps make him wealthy.
A better sleep helps us to:
Look more attractive
Improve your mood
Burn more fat
Build more muscle
Improve your ability to focus
Sleep Smarter - the summary
1. Know The Value of Sleep
Sleeps strengthens immune system, balances hormones, increases metabolism, boosts physical energy, and improves brain function.
2. Get More Sunlight During The Day
Sunlight especially morning light signals your hypothalamus to wake up. It also regulates your natural body clock and promotes a healthy secretion of melatonin which helps you fall asleep at the right time.
The best time for the sunlight to be absorbed by our body is between 6:00am and 8:30am. 90 minutes of direct sunlight is optimal.
3. Avoid Screens Before Bedtime
Blue light from electronic screens causes your body to produce more daytime hormones.
Turn off the screens at least 90 minutes before bed. Or if inevitable, use protection gears to bluelight screen.
4. Have A Caffeine Curfew
Caffeine blocks adenosine, a chemical that builds up in your body throughout the day. When enough has built up, it causes you to be tired, signalling you to go to sleep.
Caffeine is also a nervous system stimulant so avoid having it after 2:00pm.
5. Be Cool
When it’s time for your body to rest, your core body temperature drops to help initiate sleep.
If your bedroom is too hot or cold, it can cause sleeping difficulties. Studies have found that between 60 and 68 degrees Fahrenheit is ideal.
6. Get To Bed At The Right Time
For most people, you get the highest quality sleep between 10:00pm and 2:00am. This is because it aligns with the natural rhythms of your body and nature.
Around 10:00pm, internal metabolic energy is increased to repair, strengthen, and rejuvenate your body when you’re asleep.
But if you’re awake when this is happening, you may experience a “second wind” of energy and find it difficult to sleep.
7. Rub Magnesium Into Your Skin Each Day
80% of the population in the US is deficient in magnesium, an anti-stress mineral that serves countless important functions. Research shows that a large amount of magnesium in supplements is lost in the digestive process, so use an oil to rub it into your skin for maximum absorption.
8. Create a Sleep Sanctuary
Your bedroom should only be for sleep and sex. Do not work in your bed, otherwise your brain associates your sleeping space with work and your mind will have difficulty relaxing.
Open a window or use an air purifier to ensure the air your breathing is negatively charged.
Invest in one house-plant to improve air quality in your home. Even the sheer sight and smell of plants promote calmness and encourage healthy sleeping patterns.
9. Orgasm
You release serotonin and oxytocin during orgasm which help reduce stress and therefore help you sleep better.
Prolactin is also released and animals injected with it become tired immediately. Men produce 4x more prolactin with having an orgasm through intercouse instead of masturbation.
10. Black Out Your Bedroom
Your skin has light receptors. Picking up light through your skin can interfere with your sleep. Cover up lights from electronics and alarm clocks.
Use blackout curtains to block artificial light beaming through your windows like the lasers that come out of Sam Oven’s eyes.
11. Exercise In The Morning
Cortisol spikes in the morning for the purpose of encouraging you to exercise. Your body isn’t designed to exercise too close to bedtime.
A study showed that people who exercised at 7:00am instead of 1:00pm or 7:00pm slept longer and had up to 75% more deep sleep.
Stevenson also suggests lifting weights instead of running, because lifting triggers your body to release anabolic hormones that help you sleep better.
12. Keep Electronics Out of Your Bedroom
A study found that using cell phones before bed caused people to take longer to reach deep stages of sleep and they spent less time in deep sleep.
Phones emit EMF’s which can disrupt your sleep.
The World Health Organization has classified cell phone radiation as a Class B carcinogen.
If you can’t remove the phone altogether, at least put your phone into airplane mode at night to prevent the electro magnetic demons of the underworld from eating you alive.
13. Lose Body Fat
Being overweight puts stress on your organs, nervous system, and disrupts your body’s hormonal system.
You produce more of the stress hormone cortisol that wreaks havoc on your sleep.
And the worse your sleep gets, the more weight you gain. It’s a vicious cycle.
Stevenson suggests you eat more protein and fats than carbs so you can tap into a fat-burning state.
14. Go Easy On The Alcohol
Alcohol disrupts the super restorative REM sleep. That’s why you feel like crap in the morning.
It may also cause you to wake up in the night and urinate which messes your sleep cycle up.
If you want restorative sleep, stop drinking a few hours before bed.
15. Sleep In The Ideal Position For You
Your sleep position affects numerous things. Most people prefer to sleep on their side. Move your shoulder slightly forward so it’s not directly under you and don’t have your head propped too high on your pillow.
Sleeping on your stomach or back may help if you have sleep apnea but be sure to do your own research.
16. Meditate
Meditation in the morning has been proven to help test subjects sleep better at night, let alone all the other benefits like lowering stress and reducing inflammation.
17. Use Smart Supplementation
Make lifestyle changes before you even think about supplements. The natural herbs Stevenson recommends are Chamomile, kava kava, valerian.
Others he suggests are 5-HTP, GABA, and L-Tryptophan but you will have to do your own testing to see what works for you.
18. Wear Light & Comfortable Clothing To Bed
Don’t wear more than you need to and don’t go crazy with covers and electric blankets.
Wearing comfortable PJ’s not only acts as a psychological trigger to tell you it’s time to sleep, but it also has to do with regulating your body temperature.
19. Get Grounded
Research is growing that shows the benefits of earth’s electromagnetic energy. Making direct contact with the earth’s surface grounds your body and allows negatively charged antioxidant electrons to enter your body and neutralize positively charged free radicals at sites of inflammation.
Walk on grass during the day or sleep on a grounding mat to reap the benefits.
The Dark Side of Christmas
We all love Christmas, but how much do any of us actually know about why Christmas is the way Christmas is?
12 Facts about Christmas
1. **Jesus was not born on December 25 or in winter**
Jesus was likely born in the spring when shepherds were watching over flocks by bight because little lambs were being born. It wasn’t, until 4th century that Roman Catholic Church decided to celebrate birth of Jesus on December 25 coinciding with saturnalia, a pagan festival.
2. **The Wise Men did not visit Jesus**
By the time magi arrived, one or so years had likely passed and Jesus would have been a toddler (Matthew 2:11)
3. **Jesus was not born in a stable or barn**
Manger is actually a guest chamber inside homes where people live in the first floor while small animals were kept on the ground floor
4. **There were not 3 wise men. The Bible actually doesn’t say how many magi visited Jesus.**
Tradition just assumes there were three men because three types of gifts were given
5. **All letters addressed to Santa in the United States go to Santa Claus, Indiana post office**
A small group of people actually read and write a reply to the thousands of letters

Alone in the Dark
Think of yourself confined in a small, dark room with no social interaction whatsoever in 30 days. Scary right? Not many will not fall for this, but in November 18, Rich Alati, a professional poker player, bet $100,000 that he could survive 30 days alone in total isolation.
Alati was kept in a small, total dark room with nothing except for a bed, fridge and bathroom. Even with all the resources he had to survive, He couldn’t last for a month and negotiated his release after 20 days taking a payout of $62,400.
There are several negative effects that social and extreme isolation can have on our minds and bodies. The professional poker player was no exception, it was reported that he experienced a different range if side effects such as sleep cycle change and hallucinations.
**But why isolation so difficult for human to withstand?**
We humans are social creatures. This is one of the main reason why living in isolation would be difficult. Many people that have lived in isolated environments such as researcher stationed in Antarctica – report that the most difficult part of the job is the feeling of loneliness.
Loneliness can be damaging to both mental and physical health. Socially isolated people are less bale to deal with stressful situations. They’re also most likely to develop depression and may have problems processing information. This in turn can lead to decision-making difficulties and memory storage and recall.
People who are lonely are also more susceptible with illness. Based on a study, researchers found out the a person’s immune system who feels lonely has responds differently in fighting viruses, making them more susceptible to develop illnesses.
The effects of isolation can become even more noticeable if you experience it in total darkness, causing both physical and psychological disturbances. People who are placed in isolation may also experience hallucinations. The lack of stimuli causes people to misattribute internal thoughts and feelings as occurring in the outer environment.
In fact, Alati reported that he began experiencing hallucinations by his third day in isolation, ranging from seeing the room fill up with bubbles, to imagining that the ceiling had opened up to show him a starry sky.
**While the impact of total isolation can be severe, the good news is that these effects are reversible.**
Daylight exposure can normally correct sleep cycle change – though this might take weeks or months before its fully adjusted. Reconnecting with family, friends or any other person can reduce loneliness and can help us restore a good physical and psychological health.
However, some people who have been held in social isolation against their will may develop long-term medical health conditions, such as post-traumatic stress disorder or also known as PTSD. But some people who have faced the challenge of being alone for an extended period of time may show personal growth, including emotional growth, feeling closer to the family and friends, and having a better perspective on life.
Even Alati has changed after spending 20 days in total isolation, reporting that the experience gave him greater appreciation for people and life, better attention and focus, and overall feeling happier than before.
**How about you? Can you survive 30 days in total dark isolation for $100,000? Please leave a comment below. Thanks for your time.**
UV rays on Skin
Why did I get skin cancer, and what can I do prevent my family from getting it? A common question of people who are diagnosed with skin cancer.
Lets talk about first the dark side of the sun for us to know how to prevent skin ageing and skin cancer.
The sun can accelerate skin ageing and also can increase your risk of skin cancer. Lets dive deeper.
Solar Radiation
The Sun light travels at a speed of 299,792 kilometers per second; 186,287 miles per second. It takes 499.0 seconds for light to travel from the Sun to reach the Earth. When sunlight reaches the earth’s surface, it is made up of three main types of radiation.
1. **Infrared radiation**
This radiation gives sunlight its warmth.
2. **Visible light**
Helps us to see
3. **UV light**
The major culprit for damaging our skin. It is a type of radiation that we can't feel or see.
**There are 2 types of UV that can damage our skin in a slightly different ways.**
UVB
The most damaging form of UV radiation. This type of UV causes sunburns and can increase the risk of skin cancer.
Epidermis, the upper layer of skin, is penetrated by the UVB unlike visible light where it is reflected. UVB reacts with the DNA cells that causes DNA damage. Skin cells have the ability to repair itself, but if lots of DNA damage accumulates, skin cancer my form.
Melanocytes, cells in the epidermis, releases a dark skin pigment called melanin when skin cells are damaged by UVB. This melanin absorb UV light, you can say that this is like UV shield. But melanin isn't able to completely stop skin damage from UVB.
A sign that skin damage has already occurred is the tanning of the skin, and the body is preparing itself for further UV exposure.
UVB causes so much damage in a sunburn. This damage causes the skin cells to die and the upper layer of the skin peels off. This death of cells can also make the skin red, hot and painful to touch.
UVA
This type of UV can also increase the risk of skin cancer but ot is mostly involved in accelerating skin ageing.
The dermis, deep layer of the skin, can be infiltrated by the UVA. The dermis has a scaffolding of molecules such as collagen that makes your skin elastic. This makes you skin spring back when you pull it off.
UVA damages this collagen scaffolding. This makes your skin more prone to wrinkling and sagging.
The Good News
Moderate amounts of sunlight is helpful to us in making Vitamin D. Also, UV light that is prescribed by doctor can be helpful for immune based skin condition like psoriasis.
A healthy doses of sunlight can be good for us, but how do we protect ourselves for the excess UV that causes damaging effect? Simple solution is Sunscreen.
The 4 steps to choose Sunscreen for you
1. **Spectrum of Activity**
Check what kind of UV the sunscreen protexts you from. Sunscreen that protects you from UVB and UVA is a good choice, this are called broad spectrum sunscreen.
2. **Sun Protection Factor (SPF)**
Look for the SPF rating of the sunscreen. This is designed to measure UVB protection. SPF 15 blocks 93% of UVB radiation, SPF 30 blocks 97% and SPF 50 blocks 98% (EPA and Sunsmart). There isn’t much difference between SPF 30 and SPF 50. So any sunscreen that is both broad spectrum and above SPF 30 is a great choice.
3. **Sunscreen Ingredients**
Sunscreens uses different ingredients to block UV light. This is split into two: physical and chemical. Choose sunscreens which are fda approved.
4. **Formulation**
Roll ons and lotionz tend to provide best sun protection because it is easier to get an even coating on the skin.
Carbs Vs Protein: Which is better for Endurance?
At long last, one of your bucketlist which is participating on a marathon will be fulfilled. You and your friends signed up on a 16k marathon. One day at your training session for the preparation for the marathon, a friend of yours suggest to add proteins on your diet to perform better on your run. But another friend tells you to take more carbs for endurance.
Now you are confused. Which is right? Carbs or Protein?
**Before answering that, let's discuss the science behind what happens inside a muscle during exercise.**
To generate force when doing exercise like running, your muscle contracts and then it relaxes so that the cycle can repeat itself.
There are two long fibres called actin and myosin inside your muscle. The myosin hrabs the actin fibre to pull it so that it can contract and generate force.
This action happens on its own. To be able to do this, the muscle needs energy to be burned. When myosin pulls an actin fibre it burns the energy called Adenosine Triphosphate also known as ATP.
You can compare your muscle with a car engine. Your muscles contains a small store of ATP which is only enough to last for 3 seconds of muscle contraction. So, for muscle to able to this action, it needs a way to continously refuel and make a new ATP.
Well the body has three energy storage tanks that it draws upon to power this ATP guzzling machine.
1. **Creatine Phosphate**
The muscle breakdowns rapidly Creatine to make new ATP. But Creatine can only generate enough ATP to power a muscle for about 20 seconds. Cratine is good for short burst of mus le power but not good for endurance.
2. **Glycogen-Lactic Acid System**
A from of stored carbohydrate. All body cells can store glycogen to some extent, but liver and muscle cells can store large amount.
When muscles sense that ATP and Creatine stores are running low, muscles start breaking down glycogen into glucose. When there isn’t a lot of oxygen available, this glucose is converted into lactic acid, which leads to the production of ATP.
This system can power up muscles for about 1 and a half minutes so it is not good for endurance. The lactic acid also causes mus le fatigue.
3. **Aerobic System**
Glycogen is broken down into glucose, then futher to pyruvic acid. This is sent into mothocondria, a powerful place in the cell where it reacts with oxygen to produce enorkous amount of ATP.
So to recap, stored ATP and Creatine can power a muscle for about 10 seconds, the Glycogen-lactic acid system powers the body for about one and a half minutes. But what about the Aerobic system? Well it is essentially unlimited. As long as there are enough nutrients, the aerobic system will continue to pump out ATP.
But what happens when the body runs low on glycogen?
Well fat stores can be broken down to make significant amounts of ATP. And it can also convert protein into glucose, but this process is not very efficient. So in order of priority, the body likes to use glycogen first, then fats, and protein only as a last resort.
Which type of diet performs best for endurance training: a high carbohydrate diet, a high fat diet or a mixed diet.
1. Mixed diet
All energy comes from carbs, but they are used up quickly. At 4 minutes of activity, about 75% of energy is from carbs, and 25% is from fats. At 2 hours, the athlete reaches exhaustion. At that point, fats are providing most of the energy, with only 35% coming from carbs.
2. HIgh Fat Diet
Even at the start of the event, only 80% of energy is from carbs, with fats providing the remaining 20%, mainly due to low glycogen stores. The athlete reaches exhaustion at about one and a half hours into the event.
3. High-Carb Diet.
The glycogen stores are so abundant, that even at 1 hour into the event, around three quarters of energy is from carbs and the remaining 25% from fats. The athlete reaches exhaustion at the 4 hour mark, which is about 2 hours longer than a mixed diet.
When recovering after an event, an athlete on a fat and protein diet takes a long time to recover their muscle glycogen stores. But an athlete on a high carb diet can rapidly regain their muscle glycogen stores over the first 40 hours of recovery. So high carb diets easily outperform a mixed or high-fat diet.
But is there still a role for protein?
In a reseach, a cyclist was put on high protein/moderate carb diet for 7 days, and then test for a time trial. And after then, they were put on high carb/moderate protein and also test for time trial.
Cyclist with high protein diet took 20% longer to complete the time trial.
But some studies do show that adding protein can reduce blood markers of muscle damage, and improve feelings of muscle soreness after a grueling event. So it is thought that adding protein to a high carb diet can assist with recovery and help offset muscle damage.
There are three take home points:
When preparing for an endurance event like a marathon one can focus on :
1. **High carb diet** - 6-10grams of carbs per kilo of body weight per day
2. **You shouldn't do any high intensity exercise for 2 days** - muscles need about 48 hours to build up their glycogen even on high carb diet
3. **Protein supplements** - 0.25grams of prorein per kilo of body weight to help with recovery of muscle wasting.
Smoking
***Sitting beside the window watching the pouring rain, I'm running out of ideas on what to write. There is a man outside lighting up a cigarette. He looks so satisfied after puffing some smoke. In my mind, a question is formed, "Why is he smoking? Why people smoke?"***
***Well, lets write this up.***
Why do people smoke?
As humans we're creatures of habit. Some are good like doing morning exercise and some are not so good. But when it comes to changing the bad ones, it can be tough because they become so fixed even when we know some are doing us all harm and no good.
**Why do you keep doing this if you know it does this to us?**
Smoking, we know we shouldn't do it. Science tells us we shouldn't do it but yet it's so hard to quit. So besides the obvious addictive presence of nicotine, why is smoking so addictive and what can we do to stop it.
Here are 10 reason why people smoke
Some people initiate tobacco use because they believe that it helps them cope with personal problems or boredom
Teens who already smoke marijuana, drink alcohol, or use illicit drugs are more likely to smoke cigarettes than those who do not, perhaps due to a decreased perception of harm
Some people start smoking because cigarretes are around
Some people start smoking because they worry about their weight and figure and smoke to become thinner
Making up for poor social or personal skills - people who have low self-esteem or who are disengaged from school may be more attracted to smoking than those who are socially engaged and confident
Personal traits- internal determinants of smokers include certain inborn or nurtured personality traits such as unconventionality, risk taking, thrill seeking or rebelliousness
Sociodemographic factors - youbg people living in or at the poverty line, with one parent who has little education are most at risk of becoming smokers
Copycatting what is cool on popular culture - movies advertisement, and other forms of media shape teen views of what is cool, attractive and grown up. Therefore, people start smoking to emulate their heroes or to embody what is click
Peer pressure - peer smoking is a stronger predictor of smoking onset for high school students. And the number of cigarette offers made for student can affect whether or not they become smokers
Family attitudes that condone smoking - young people who start smoking in their teen years frequently have siblings, parents, grandparents or any family members who smokes. The rsik that a person start smoking os often higher of one or both parents smoke.
Quitting smoking is not that easy because of what you called withdrawal syndrome. When a smokers don't have a cigarette, the brain will say where is my nicotine? I need that nicotine to function properly. So there is no fast way to quit smoking. Little by little until your smoke cravings can be stop.
Here are some ways to get past nicotine craving
1. Steer clear of triggers - if you usually smoke whlie talking on phone, try doodling or coloring instead
2. Set a timer - instead of giving in, wait 10 minutes while you find something to distract yourself
3. Chew something - busy your mouth by chewing sugarless gum or munching on raw carrots
4. Run up and down the stairs - as if you needed another reason to exercise: even a short burst can curn a craving
5. Call or surf for support - text a friend or call a quitline. Read blogs by quitters and post motivating comments
6. Discover new way to de-stress - try yoga, deep breathing, massagd or music. You might be surprised how well they work
7. Review your reason - remind yourself why you want to quit. There's no better motivation
There are different reasons why people smoke eventhough they know for themselves how can this harm their health. This reason are somewhat we can prevent if called out immediately.
Quittimg on smoking is more on self discipline. It will always start within you.
Roadmap
**What are roadmaps and what it's purpose?**
Everyday routine of my day since i've joined this platform is to read articles, not just only the articles but the comments as well. (**So I can downvote those spam comments. Evil laugh**)
When checking the top articles for the week, I came across an article comparing **BCH IFP** and **BCH Non IFP**. I've noticed first the word **roadmap** and as I began reading comments along with those **annoying spam**, there is one comment that caught my eye, "**no roadmap then no future grow!?"**
As i've read some articles again, I stumbled upon an article that talks about the **unofficial roadmap of Bitcoin Cash.**
Here is the link:
https://read.cash/@georgedonnelly/what-bitcoin-cash-developers-are-building-right-now-unofficial-bitcoin-cash-bch-2021-roadmaps-07b64e08.
**So what's the big deal with this roadmap?**
When you click the three line on the upper right of the screen on read.cash, it will open a navigation window. And at the bottom you can also see the **word roadmap.**
Honestly, I didn't even bothered to read it until this word roadmap keeps popping on differents articles here on readcash. Let's have some overview of roadmap for us to know what it means, it's purpose and how it works.
**Roadmaps**
A high level overview of a product or project's vision and direction overtime
Shows the overall strategy and work required to get there
Acts as a single reference point to ensure everyone on the team shares the same understanding of the goals driving on initiative
A living breathing document that everyone on team can review and agree on
Having a central overview, everyone can reference makes it easier to alter or update the priority of tasks in milestone when changes to initiatives are required
**Roadmaps serves several purposes**
It maps out your vision and strategic goal in a visual way
Details how you'll deliver against that vision and strategy
Communicates the necessary information to align stakeholders
Sets your priorities so that you can focus on what's important
Roadmaps are important. It enables you to set a long-term plan based on strategic thinking and clear prioritization.
Roadmaps align stakeholders and keep everyone in the loop
When priorities have been set, your roadmap will help you to visualize them clearly
With a shared understanding of strategy, sticking to roadmap os the clearest way to success.
Examples of roadmap
Product roadmaps - visual document that serves as a single source of truth to map out both the short and long term direction of your product, as well as all the steps that need to take place to deliver against your goal
Business roadmaps - allows cross-organization teams to plan and communicate strategic goals while keepong stakeholders aligned. It also tend to high level documents focused on the key steps required to achieve the businessess key objectives and goals
Technology roadmap - used in the complicated process of implementing new tools in the workplace and who will be responsible for ensuring the success of the project. It can also be used for charge management, upgrades to tools or rolling out changes to a whol organization
Marketing roadmaps - provides a high-level overviw of your marketing strategy for your team and stakeholders. Marketing roadmaps illustrate projects and activities from various channels like digital marketing, content, events and advertising
Depending of a case, you may decide to opt for a
Progress-based roadmap - divides the current item into lanes based on the level of progress, for example as "to-do," "in progress," or "done."
Time-based roadmap - primarily focused on dates, milestones, and deadlines. This is used as the main mechanism for measuring success which can be a great method for visualizing how your product will progress over time
How to create roadmaps?
Roadmapping - enables a group of people to explore a topic based on where they are now and where they want to get to in forming a plan on how to get there. Trough the process you need to consider, why you need to take action, what you need to do, how you do it and by when.
Roadmap are essential. It
BCH : A good investment?
What is Bitcoin Cash?
A well known bitcoin fork that is trying to forge its own path and identity
The question is, Can it really do this or should it be considered? Before anything else, let us knew when bitcoin cash started.
History of bitcoin cash
Bitcoin cash beginning can be traced back all the way in a conference in New York in year 2017. The conference"Consensus 2017" features a 100+ speakers and 2000 attendees from the leading industry start ups, investors, financial institutions, enterprise tech leaders and academy and policy groups who are building the foundation of the blockchain and digital currency economy.
Back then scaling a bitcoin is a challenge, network speed is slow and feast is climbing. So the titans in conference came up with a solution, the SegWit2x, which will increase the block size limit. But there are groups who are against this. The only way to scale bitcoin is is to increase the block size limit.
Bigger block > more transactions> more throughput>faster transactions>lower fees
This group who are against SegWit2x decided to split the blockchain into two. Thus Bitcoin cash is born, that has a 8mb block limit.
So should we invest in Bitcoin Cash?
Bitcoin cash has established as a strong cryptocurrency throughout this years. In fact it is number 6 crypto in terms of market cap behind btc, eth, usdt, xrp and dot.
Bitcoin cash could be positive. The total hash rates is increasing. This shows that mining pools believe in thecfuture of BCH.
BCH fees are low again, so it is more stable with completing more transactions. This could stimulate the rise towards the cryptocurrency.
But just like bitcoin, BCH has its flaws.
Bitcoin Cash productivity depends on miners’ activity. Network complexity grows bigger, so miners have to spend more resources for effective work. This will have a negative effect on transaction rates. If this happens, the BCH price will fall.
This goes for security issues. If miners are reluctant to use their high hashing power, that 51% possibility of an attack will grow. Thus, someone with great resources could have the power to control the BCH chain and use it for their own needs.
As for me investing of BCH today may be a great deal. But i am not confident enough to try out my luck.
So instead of investing, im hodling all my earnings here at **read.cash**, hoping and praying that someday it will be as high as bitcoin.
So please take note of this.
**Only invest what you can afford to lose**
Not your Keys, Not your Coins : Crypto wallets
**Cryptocurrency world** has emerged in the last few years and with it's development and increasing demand, **crypto investing is taking the world by storm.**
As crypto becomes more valuable, it also becomes more attractive to individuals looking to make a quick buck but too lazy to invest themselves. These people will stop at nothing to steal an investor's hard earned crypto. This is why having a secure wallet you can trust to keep your crypto safe is paramount when investing in cryptocurrency.
Crypto Wallets
A **wallet** is just a piece of **software or a device** that contains and manages your **private keys** which give the holder **access to the crypto** stored in a wallet. These private keys keep your crypto **safe from hackers but only if you keep them safe**.
**If someone gets your private keys then they get your crypto**. This is why choosing the right wallet for you is crucial to maintain a positive experience with cryptocurrency. After all, you don't want an intruder accessing your information the same way you don't want a robber coming into your home in the middle of the night.
There are two types of wallets: **software and hardware wallets**
Software Wallets
**Software Wallets** - also known as **hot wallets** due to being connected to the internet which mean they theoritically could be hacked.
That may not sound like the best choice for someone who has bad cyber security habits unless they trade in low volumes and aren't losing sleep over the safety of their crypto.
These wallets have the advantage of being quite to set up and to access at any given time. Making them a convenient choice for most traders
**Software wallets can be divided into smaller categories:**
**Web wallet** - used to access blockchains through a browser without having to download or install anything. You may either be able to set up personal password to access your web wallet but in other case, service provider hold and manages your keys on your behalf. This is risky and not recommended even for experienced users because no one wants to hand over all their money to a stranger.
**Desktop Wallet** - requires you to download software which you can execute locally on your computer. This is a better option because you will have full control over your keys and funds. Once you generate a new desktop wallet, a file called wallet.dat will be stored on your computer. This file contains a private key for yout to access your crypto address and you will have to encrypt it with a personal address. You will need to provide information everytimd you run the software, so never forget your password. You'll lose access to your funds. A smart idea is to back up your wallet.dat and keep it somewhere safe
**Mobile Wallets** - similar to desktop wallets with a slight difference that it is designed specifically as a smartphone app. These are more convenient because you can send and receive cryptocurrencies throught the use of qr codes and your phone is glued to your hands all day long. Mobile wallets are suitable for percorming daily transaction payments quickly and easily. However, do stay aware that your smartphone is vulnerable to viruses or it can easily break. To stay safe, you should encrypt your mobile wallet with a password and back up your private keys as well
List of popular hot wallets you might want to consider uisng and the good news is that all of these are free. However, charges from transactions may apply when moving your crypto due to gas price.
**Coinbase** - known by many users as exchange. It has also offered up crypto wallet. Coinbase wallet offers both mobile and web version with android and ios support. It's important to note that having your crypto in coinbase's wallet doesn't equal having it on the exchange which means it's more secure.
**Trust wallet** - supported by one of the big exchanges. In this case binance. It has over 5 million users, has integration with the binance exchange just like coinbase's wallet with its own exchange. Trust wallet has the added benefit of offering a decentralized apps marketplace which allows you to take more advantage of the benefits of the blockchain world. It also offers staking option built in, allowing users to make passive income.
**Exodus wallet** - offers advanced features like live charts, a built-in exchange support for over 100 cryptocurrencies and an app's marketplace. It's available in a mobile and desktop version.
Honestly, there are more options to software wallets with names like **Edge, Zengo, Mycelium, Dapper and Jax** offering different features.
Hardware Wallets
**Hardware wallets** - also known as **cold wallets** because it is a form of **offline storage** making them much more secure and resistant to online hacking attempts. This are the best wallet, simply becaase they present the safest way to store your crypto investment.
Cold wallets use a physical medium to store the keys offline. This method is the best and only choice for long-term investors but can be equally suitable for beginner users who want a safe option.
Hardware wallets use a random number generator to generate both public and private keys and these are then stored in the device itself. Although it's security is a huge advantage, hardware wallets aren't all beauty but contain a beasty side. As it is a physical device, you must purchase, it's **high price** is a downfall for many crypto fans. Prices can range to $70-$100 and they may even go up in some cases to $2,000.
Hardware wallets require you to set up a recovery c password that must keep safe, if not, you won't be able to recover your coins if your wallet is lost, damaged or stolen.
The two biggest hardware wallet in the market is **ledger** and **trezor**. Both always feature is as the top hardware wallet rankings.
**Trezor** - supports windows, linux, mac and has one of the best android wallet apps. It has a full two factor authentication and a password manager app that's compatible with erc20 token. It's easy to use. You can connect via the computer and reset the management software. The price is quite high at $169.99 but features of the device is worth it.
**Ledger** - probably the most popular and recommended wallet because it's extremely reliable. It doesn't only present the best security but also supports more than 1,500 cryptocurrencies and the list just keep on expanding. It's quite possible that you will be able to store your point of preference in the wallet while setting up your device. Though ypu will select a pin code and get a 24 word recovery phrase in case you forgot the pin or lose the device. So make sure to store your recovery phrase in a secure place. It's more cheaper than the trezor. Ledger nano s - $59 , ledger nano x - $119. Not only that is more cheaper than trezor but it also present more feature and pr9vides you with better security.
Always remember when using any kinds of wallets - **not your keys, not your coins.**
So which type of wallets which do you think you will use or what kind of wallet are you using right now? Let me know by leavibg a comment down below and don't forget to like, subscribe and upvote.
Bitcoin into the Moon: Sign for world cryptocurrency
**Bitcoin: A peer-to-peer electronic cash**, a whitepaper of bitcoon published by Satoshi Nakamoto. People have focused a lot on the title alone. Many contend that the **title** was actually the **core fundamental principle of bitcoin.**
This is why some groups suggested to increase block size or create lightning networks for the bitcoin to be fast. This leads to some **arguments** from the bitcoin communtiy and **resulted into a fork.**
Bitcoin fork exposed the **flaw of bitcoin** when it comes to being a digital currency: **it is just too slow**. The lightning network is not a solution that's viable for the long term. But, there is a solution where as low as bitcoin is, it could actually fullfill **Satoshi Nakamoto's original vision for bitcoin** and in fact, **it could become the digital currency** of the internet and could become the **reserve currency in the world.**
For me in the past, Bitcoin is digital gold and it's tortoise-like speed prevents it from being a tradable currency fit for retail adoption.
Bitcoin can be digital gold and the electronic currency in a very interesting situation we may never have considered.
We hear a lot about the **reserve currency of the world which is the US dollar** and could be soon be the digital one. So what is a reserve currency?
Since we live in different countries and use different currencies, we need some base standard by which we all as a global community can use to trade back and forth. The world reserve currency right now is the US dollar and this is the very key to the United States economic success and dominance in the last century.
It's been based upon the fact that every other country in the world has to own US dollar to operate globally in finance. This gives a huge boost to the value of dollar but it's almost time for the US dollar to go down gently into the mainstream.
**According to history, the US dollar's time is almost up!**
For almost over 600 years, there's been six different world currencies. If you could do some quick math, that means about every 100 years, there's a new reserve currency. Technically, the **average of last five world currencies is 95 years each** and right noe the **US dollar is sitting at 95 years (1925-2020)**. So it's almost time to have a new one, the only questin is what will it be?
The **Chinese one is certainly the top candidate** right now. They look to dominate the United States within the next five years but recently the Digital Yuan was not well received after it's test run.
We are missing the obvious thing here.most of **the world does not like China.** In fact, not only the United States basically a war with China already but even in European countries. They are finding out a lot about China's espionage and battle tactics as they've been taking over businesses left and right. Additionally, there's been a lot of secrecy and scandals between African countries and China as well. World does not want China to be the reserve currency, i think.
And don't forget the Covid-19 pandemic. **What if China intentionally released the disease to bring down the rest of the world?** Wether or not it is intentionally released or accidentally released, China used it to their advantage to weaken and take advantage of other countries. That's why they allow their people to travel internationally but not domestically.
**Would the United States rather have China or Bitcoin be the reserve currency?**
I think, if faced with that decision, the answer would be very obvious. Of course the US will fight like hell to make sure the dollar does not lose it's reserve status. Unfortunately that decision is not solely up to the United States. It's up to supply and demand, it's up to the free market.
Here's the twist. Bitcoin itself is not ever going to be the world's digital currency choice because it's extremely too slow, but what if the eventual choice or the digital payment solution is pegged to bitcoin in the same way stable coins are pegged to the US dollar. If this occurred, the bitcoin would actually be the basis for the digital electronic cash.
The more things develop in the world and in cryptocurrency, this scenario is a very likely to happen.
**So what if the bitcoin does not become the world reserve currency?**
Well, i think, bitcoin will be the basis for the digital currency of the internet whatever that will eventually be.

Why People get Envious to others?
Why do people get envious to others?
One of the most toxic emotions one that you can feel is Envy. In Roman Catholism, it is said to be the fourth of the seven deadly sins.
According to wikipedia, Envy is an emotion which "occurs when a person lacks another's superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it".
Envy is similarly compared to Jealousy, but it's totally different. It is simply differentiated by Bart Simpson on one of the The Simpsons episode, he said "Jealousy is when you're worried someone will take what you have, Envy is wanting what someone else have." And that statement is rightfully correct.
So why do people get envious to others?
People get envious with others if they are not contented on what they have. You feel envious of others because you feel that they don't deserve what they have.
Example is: you see an article here in readcash with a huge tip given by@TheRandomRewarder and you have an article that got tipped but not too much or nothing at all. There will a part of you that will think, "Why is his/her article got more tip? My article is more deserving to get that tip than him/her." This is what you called Envy.
Envy can be good and bad.
Envy can be good when it becomes a motivation to reach something for your happiness or success. Let me use the example above.
Your envy of the article of one of the writers in readcash because he got huge tips. So you study his/her article and made a goal that you will write an article that can surpass it. This is a good one.
But envy can be generally be bad when it demotivates you. You perceived the one you envy as enemy. Let us use again the example above.
The article that you are envious of becomes a demotivation for your writing skills. You plan or desire to bring down the writer's article by criticizing it.
So how to control being envious?
First is to remember that all people are envious, it is how they cope up with it that matters.
One should recognize their inferiorities and perceive others who have superiorities not as an enemy. This can inspire someone by lifting themselves to reach the heights who they up to rather than desiring to lower down others.
Reacting to someone's shortcomings with acceptance and a desire to improve is good not only for the individual, but for everybody.

Why is it scary to grow old?
Why is it scary to grow?
When i was young, I wanna grow up quickly to do the things adult can. As a young little one, I have limitations of what action I can do. My parents are the one who decides for me. So who doesn't want to grow up?
When i was young, I think that growing up is easy as being free. Being free from your parents eyes, being free from the cultures, being free from the society.
When i was young, i think growing up is like a ticket, a license, to do the things that i want to do. Being careless without having to worry that might someone might scold you.
Excited when I started growing up as a teen.
When I was a teen, I think I'm starting to reach my freedom. I can now tell my parents what I like and act what I like to do with a little worry of might getting scold.
When i was a teen, my mindset in school is "Go get a good grade and pass all your subject" and everything will be okay. Now, school is the only problem.
Long discussions, school projects, activities and many more. How can I be free with all of this? And then I started to doubt that growing up is freedom. But still, I pursued and conquered those doubts.
I graduated at a University! Yes! Freedom! Here I come!
When i was an adult, I started living on my own. Working to support myself. Being free from my parents, doing things I want to do. It's the most joyous feeling in my life.
But then reality hits me hard.
Bills. Relationship. Being a parent. I started getting scared to grow old.
Can't do the things I used to because of limited movement because of old age. Seeing my parents dying. DEATH!
I'm scared to grow old anymore. I don't wanna die. I don't want to live my daughter alone. Having thoughts of that made me worried a lot more.
How come no one told me that growing old is this scary?
This is not what I imagine growing old when I was young.
Why do People Lie?
Why do people lie?
Somebody recently asked me this questiob in a most heartfelt way and the first response that that came to my mind was because it works. I think for alot of people lying really work.
And what is lying?
Funndamentally, the easy answer of course is lying is not telling the truth. But i think even deeper than that, i think what lying is people creating an alternative reality and expressing it as if ot were truth. So basically, making up their own reality and in a lot of cases trying to get other people to believe this reality and often trying to get their own selves to believe this reality.
A part of what i think is a strange phenomenon with our species, the human species, is that we do have the ability often to define our own reality and that reality can be very contrary to reality in the world. The reality we often called truth isn't often really truth and i think it's very normal.
So why do people lie?
Because it work, because it makes them more comfortable, it allows them to avoid pain, it alloss them to avoid getting troubles sometimes. A lot of people do all sort of things that go against other people, and when they lie when they say they didn't do it by changing the story of reality, they can often get away with their bad behavior. So, people lie to cover their bad behavior.
But what about covering good behavior?
I think this is a real key that opens a whole different door ibto the question of why do people lie. Well, the door that I'm in an open is from the perspective of the little child in the very disturbed, emotionally troubled, violating family.
What happens in this family is the parents creates the society or reality for the child. They create what is considered truth for the child and what about when the child's innate love of truth and reality are powerful than the parents lies. This is such a common phenomenon where the child is actually more honest, more truth than his parents. What happens then?
The parents try to push down the child's truth/reality and sometimes in order for the child to keep truth alive within himself. The child has to lie that he's actually not living in connection with his reality otherwise the parents are gonna kill him.
For me being real and being honest in many ways was something that was not allowed and so what i did is i kept it private and when pushed, i had to fake it about how real i was on the inside.
Also, a lot of children have to lie about how sick their parents are. They have to lie about the horrible things that are going on in their family in order to protect their family. They don't want people to know how horrible their parents are. Terrible things can happen to the child if peiple find out what's really going on.
The child is powerless. So by nature of being less powerful, sometimes, the child has to lie often to themselves about how horrible their parents are because it's so painful to see the truth. It's much easier way for them to dissociate everything.
As they grow older and older, this lying becomes a part of them. And in many cases for children as they become adults, it becomes a functional survival tactic in the world because the things that they're lying about are things that most children are lying about. If they speak out the truth, they can experience societal rejection so in a way lying is part of being normal.
Now, some people find this extremes, some people go even further and i think often, it's people who come from the most screwed-up family system because they have toie in a really extreme way and until they've been able to actually take a cold hard look at the families they came from.
Until they can't move forward and accept the truth, lying becomes comfortable.
Thoughts on the upcoming bch fork. Anyone? Let's just share some of our thoughts. Thanks
WorldCorp Enterprises
In 2016, Youtube channel called worldcorp enterprises was created. They uploaded two videos that are disturbing in nature. The two videos titled "fatherhood" and "each day i grow some more".
Both of these videos depicted a child in a dark room behind a glass door possibly in a shower screaming and crying as a man recording the video screaming things at him.
These videos attracted so much negative attention that eventually the channel as a while was terminated due to Community Guidelines Violations. Not long after the channel termination, the website worldcorp.net was created to host these videos along with some disturbing content.
Around the same time, there was another video on Youtube, posted by user called Silva Gunner titled "theme song caillou. This video included the "each day i grow some more" clips.
Worldcorp Enterprises was listed as a composer in the description. This video was later discovered to be a part of Caillou based arg created by Silva Gunner. A Youtuber named 123zc1 uploaded a video explaining the whole arg where he also debunked all the videos included in the "theme song Caillou" video, all the videos except for the worldcorp one.
Silver Gunner claims that the "each day i grow some more" video was all acting whereas worldcorp enterprises insists that it's all real. I personally don't believe Silva Gunner and a worldcorp actually even know each other.
A concern for worldcorp enterprises videos grew people started developing new theories. Some people identified that the voice of the man screaming in the video sounded awfully similar to John Padesta.
John Podesta is a politician who is accused of being a part of the pizza gate scandal after his email are leaked. This led people to linking worldcorp with pizza gate. Now, it's important to note that the pizza gate scandal was actually debunked after investigation of several organizations includibg the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Colombia.
Additionally, the man in the worldcorp videos was never proven to be John Podesta and could be bery possibly be someone that with a sjmilar accent. I'm not trying to point fingers at anyone without solid evidence.
In time with no new leads, worldcorp stopped being discussed. The website remained by Nam which was heard about the enitre endeavor.
Hello ReadCash!
Good evening ReadCashers! I've created this account last month ago, but this is my first time usually using this platform. So technically, i still considered myself as a newbie.
I am Ray, read.cash username is @Bbb01.
Today, I've just finished reading all articles about this platform, how it works and how to utilize it.
I have a little bit of knowledge about cryptocurrencies. I love to read and write informative articles.
Btw, the lead image i used can describe me as a new member here. An infant who needs a guidance. Hope I can get along with all the users here at read.cash. Thank you!
