Everyone's preparing for the Yuletide season--families will gather to celebrate the upcoming long holidays together and of course, food is always present. Alongside with gifts and decors, it's probably where we spend most of our time and money (during the said holidays). Also, no matter how much food we take, meals wouldn't be satisfying as it can be without sweets or desserts. It neutralizes the flavor and aftertaste of the last dish you've taken. Sweets are still for our diet as long as we take it in moderation, needless to say, it is also plays important part in one's balance diet.

Today, I will be sharing my favorite dessert's recipe, leche flan. It's super easy to prepare, so I hope you'll try it yourselves and like it too. So here's the recipe:

1 can Evaporated milk (410 mL can)

1 can Condensed milk (380 mL can)

3/4 cup white sugar

7 egg yolks

2 whole eggs

  • 3 Llanera (aluminum mold)

  • Mixer

  • Mixing bowl

  • Steamer

  • Strainer

  • Aluminum foil

  1. Put 1/4 cup white sugar in each llanera;

  2. Heat over medium flame until caramelized (melted, light brown in color) then set aside;

  3. Beat the egg yolk and eggs in a mixing bowl;

  4. Gradually add evaporated and condensed milk;

  5. Mix with a hand mixer or electric mixer until smooth;

  6. Strain the mixture then pour into the llaneras and cover with aluminum foil;

  7. Put in the steamer and steam for 25 to 30 minutes;

  8. Let it cool, transfer in a container or plate then put in the fridge for 2-4 hours before serving.

We're done! Easy -peasy, right? Try it out and share your thought on this recipe.

Bon appetit.

Ohh you also mix whole eggs into the yolks. Does it come out as kind of jelly-ish?
