March 2020, enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) was strictly implemented as number of COVID19-related cases rapidly grows. Hard lockdown was observed in highly populated areas such as cities and capital zone; while lighter one was observed in provinces and other areas with lower risks in order to control the movement of the people and avoid the spread of the said virus which can be transmitted through close contact with another person. However, it doesn't seem to pacify the crisis thus resulting into implementation of another new normal setting to varying extent depending on the status of a certain place.

This new normal affects everyone--from school setting, religious activities, health and wellness routines, social practices, et cetera...everything was affected.

The typical living seems to vanish and we never knew when we'll be able to regain it. Each places have different measures and intensity of the "new normal impact", in my place, which is a rural area seem to display just moderate community guidelines but still manifests big changes in our day to day living.

With this new normal regulations, conventional setting was designed by our local educational institution. Blended learning was used and observed by teachers and students. Blended learning is the use of different online platforms such as Zoom, Google Classroom, Facebook, YouTube, etc. and Printed Modules to be distributed to the learners as the main mode of instruction. Advantages are, students are not required to attend face-to-face classes and may lessen the risk of being contaminated with the virus and they can work with their siblings, parents or other family members. Disadvantages are, teaching and learning experience isn't as concrete as it is with the face-to-face setting. Assessment can be biased or unreliable due to different factors that could affect the result of the tests administered to the learners. Frankly, the students are only doing the tasks for compliance not for the learning.

Also, people's lifestyle were greatly impacted by this wave. We aren't able to socialize or have gatherings and celebrate special occasions with our friends and families because of the 6-feet (1 meter) rule. Travelling became really hard with all these documents and medical tests required by the authorities. Face masks and face shields should also be worn at all times outside our home which can be suffocating or irritating at times. If you are living miles away from your family, friends or lover, things can really be a bit of a handful before you can go see them. If you'll pass provincial or regional border of if you're from a high risk area, you need to be quarantined or isolated first for 14 days and needs to be swabbed negative before finally getting to hug and kiss your family.

With all these hassles to get through, would you still go home or roam around and risk both yours and your family's safety or just consider staying at home to avoid the terrifying threat of this pandemic?

As for me. It makes commute more tiring with all the fixed routes you'll need to readjust to. Plus the higher fares to be paid
