So earlier, I was fixing my art materials after finishing my commissioned artwork. I sorted them out based on their uses (style), that would be for colored portraits; graphite/charcoal portraits; and for calligraphy and stencil.
I suddenly got an idea to practice using graphite medium since it's the least that I use.
Material I used for this drawing are:
Graphite pencils: 3b, 5b and 8b
Charcoal pencil (medium)
Mechanical pencil 0.5
Eraser
Flat brush
As usual, I started the portrait by drawing the outline;
After that, I defined the dark areas and shadows using 5b and 8b;
I added details and light shades using 3b;
I defined the highlights by using eraser;
After completing the face, I followed the hair. I used charcoal pencil and 5b. I highlight some areas and strands with the use of eraser.
For the shirt, I just filled it with black sharpie because my hand were sooooo tired from the previous portrait I drew. So, yeah I accept it I'm really lazy! LOL
And by the way, the reference I used was Audrey Hepburn, British Actress (1948–1989) and Humanitarian (1954–1992).
I know it's not that good, I'm still practicing this medium but I hope you'll like it! Thank you. 😉
Wonderful.. keep it up 👍
