The cane toad is not endemic to the Philippines. But it was introduced to contain sugar cane pests. They have proved to be pests themselves. The toad's toxic secretions causes illness and death to domestic animals they come into contact. Also human fatalities with consumption of eggs or adults. These killers feed on any terrestrial animal and compete with native amphibians for food and space.
