Wow! Awesome! EDIBLE STRAW, ANYONE? Do you like to bite your straw? A coffee shop in Laguna offers drinks that come with straws you can actually eat! On social media, one of the customers of the shop shared his experience in using the edible straws made from rice and tapioca. “After po namin mag-purchase, and we are about leave, saka po nagsabi ’yung taga store po na edible ’yung straw po which I found amazing po,” uploader Astro Paul told The Philippine STAR. According to EhKape in San Pablo City, their edible straws were imported from Vietnam. Each straw is made from 70% rice and 30% tapioca. According to the coffee shop, the edible straw can withstand hot drinks and doesn’t easily melt. “No hindi po siya kaagad nag-melt, it’s just like ’yung noodles na pang sopas,” the coffee shop added.
