“I long, yes, I faint with longing to enter the courts of the Lord. With my whole being, body and soul, I will shout joyfully to the living God.” (Psalms 84:2) Do it now. Be joyful now. There is so much doom and gloom everywhere you look that it might start making you believe Jesus isn’t the Savior of the world. But he is! The fact that we’re still here—that we’re not in the courts of the Lord—is no reason to live like it isn’t our final destination. When you’re planning a vacation, do you sit around moping and complaining right up to the moment you walk out the door? No! You get excited in anticipation. And we need to get excited that he’s delaying the trip. There is at least one person who hasn’t yet accepted the invitation, so God is still waiting. Just like he waited for us. I don’t know about you, but I’m really happy he waited for me. Maybe you could walk around the house in your swimsuit and flip-flops; pack a bag and set it by the door. Get in the mood. Change your frame of mind and it’ll be a positive influence on you as well as on those around you. And don’t forget your sunscreen.
