“My life constantly hangs in the balance, but I will not stop obeying your instructions.” (Psalms‬ ‭119:109‬) There have been times in my life when things were so stressful, the situations so disordered and directionless, the outcomes so uncertain, that I actually had to get down on my hands and knees to touch the ground and steady myself so I wouldn’t fall. It was like the world was coming apart and me with it. But what really grounded me was God’s Word. It is the one thing that transcends time, temperature, and terror. It is dependable, it is right, and it always applies. Jesus lived here. He suffered in ways considerably more traumatic than anything I have faced or ever will. And he stayed the course. He honored God right up to his last moment. And still does. If he can do it—and he gave me his Holy Spirit—then I can do it. And so can you. #RandomThoughts
