“I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.” (Psalms 16:8) In uncertain times we need to grab hold of—and hang onto—the things that are certain. With current events being what they are, I want to encourage you to remember what you know. Read this verse again. When you read the word “I” make it personal. You need to know the Lord is with—you. In the middle of the greatest struggle of your life, the Lord is with you. When everyone else leaves you, the Lord is with you. Now read it again and emphasize “always.” It’s very easy to get distracted by fear and apprehension and doubt. But the Lord is aware of all these things. Nothing catches him off guard, he is never unprepared. You don’t need to be shaken, because he isn’t. He didn’t create you by accident. You are not an afterthought. You were designed for this place and this time. He is doing something great with you. Live fearlessly. Whatever you face, you can say “he is right beside me.”
