“‘You won’t die!’ the serpent replied to the woman. . . . The woman was convinced.” (Genesis‬ ‭3:4, 6‬a) It’s not hard to trick people if the subject being discussed is unfamiliar. Politicians do it all the time. It’s easier to believe a comfortable lie than an uncomfortable truth. There are preachers who do this, too. The woman, and the world in which she lived, had never experienced death; she likely had no real understanding of it. It took little effort for the serpent to convince her to risk the consequences of disobedience. The same thing happens in the hearts and minds of unbelievers. They have no way to grasp the concept of eternal life, or heaven, or even sometimes the idea of forgiveness. Or unconditional love. There just isn’t any reference point. So they don’t believe. It’s why faith is such an integral part of Christianity—believing without seeing. But there’s a way we can help: Start loving unconditionally. Start forgiving. And maybe they will start believing based on what they can see. Good evening.... #Jesuslive #EverydayBibleVerse
