“Why are you frightened? Why are your hearts filled with doubt? Look at my hands. Look at my feet. You can see that it’s really me.” (Luke 24:38-39) You can’t look at the world for your source of hope. You can’t look at your family or friends. You can’t even look at your faith. All of these things have weaknesses, moments when they will fail you; you know how your own belief wavers at times. Look at Jesus. He never fails. You may doubt this since he’s been gone for a couple thousand years and his promise to “return soon” seems to have been lost on the cutting room floor. You must read his letters to you. I remember being assigned remote duty in the military, when my wife wasn’t permitted to accompany me. I would read her letters. There were times when I felt like I couldn’t remember her face, her touch; her words would bring them back. Jesus wrote to you. His Word is more personal than anything a mere mortal could pen. You can’t touch the scars in his hands and feet, but you can see his scars all throughout Scripture. You can feel how much he loves you. You can sense his burning desire to return, and it changes your perspective of time. Your fears will fly and your hope will return; it will be enough until you see him in the flesh. Read his letters. #Jesus #Fearless #Hope
