“O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.” (Psalms 86:5) Do you want a generic Jesus? Will you be happy with the average blessings the rest of the world gets just for existing, like rain and sunshine? Or do you want more? You can’t have salvation and eternal life without acknowledging that you need it. Forgiveness that restores a relationship only applies to those who ask for it, and unfailing love is worthless to the one who won’t accept it. The Lord is “so ready to forgive” but most people are reluctant to cross the line of admitting that their sin is the sole obstacle to finding peace and joy. Getting that close to the truth is extraordinarily uncomfortable, and it is very personal. But we have a personal God. If you want cold objectivity, the kind of rigid dogma with no emotion that comes with self-righteousness, there are plenty of marble statues out there. Instead, humble yourself and confess your need; try Jesus and experience life with a heart that pounds and a pulse that races—that is living! #Jesus #Life #Love
