“He counts the stars and calls them all by name.” (Psalms‬ ‭147:4‬) There’s a thing called light pollution. It’s the effect of street lights and building lights and automobile lights washing out the natural light produced by the stars. If you go far enough away from town you’ll see more stars. But the number didn’t change; they all exist whether or not you can see them. Sometimes you can’t always see God because there is too much life pollution, too much interference caused by the worries of this world. Work, family, health, money, peer pressure; all conspiring to take your eyes off the Light. But none of that prevents him from seeing you. Just like he placed the stars in the sky, he placed you on the little plot of ground you call home. And just like he knows the name of each star, he knows your name. Take a break and get away from all the distractions. Even if it’s in another room with the lights off. Or just close your eyes. Get quiet.
