Abraham Lincoln in a letter to a friend said, “I am profitably engaged in reading the Bible. Take all of this Book upon reason that you can, and the balance upon faith. You will live and die a better man.” That’s good counsel. Enough parts make sense that you can trust the rest. Understanding of any complex subject never happens instantly. But you can process the simple, like love and forgiveness. And that’s actually all you really need.
