"Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance, character, and character, hope." (Romans 5:3-4) Wishes come and go. Our circumstances change, and so will our wishes. The kind of hope that God's Word promises is rock solid and is realized ONLY through suffering AND endurance. When we suffer, we need to learn to press into God and to find peace and strength in His presence in the midst of storms. Then we will have hope that will never disappoint us.
