  • What is homeopathic medicine?

In 1790, a revolutionary change took place in the world of pharmacology. In 1796, the scientist Hahnemann introduced a method of treatment called homeopathy to the world. Since then, the progress of new drugs has continued..... The theory of this treatment is that if a 'substance' is applied to the body of a healthy person, the same reaction that starts in him should be used to heal a patient who develops the same reaction. When treating a patient, homeopathic doctors assess his physical symptoms as well as his mental and emotional state. The ingredients they use in a medicine are so dissolved that analyzing the ingredients in it does not give an idea of the original ingredients.

  • But even then, how does homeopathic medicine work?

Hahnemann has given a mysterious explanation in this case. He believed that homeopathic medicine had a kind of 'spirit-like power'. When an ingredient was routinely diluted with alcohol or water, it would enter the substance. Hahnemann was the first to say that an herbal substance must be a medicine because of its intrinsic power. No substance will be recognized as a medicine unless it has general medicinal properties, unless its internal potency is developed. When an object develops its internal capacity and is applied to a healthy human body and its medicinal properties are revealed, it will be considered as medicine. The process of developing the internal capacity of an object in this way is called dynamization. Medicine is the source of energy in homeopathy. When a drug substance is fortified by developing its internal capacity, it will be converted into a drug. When this drug is applied to the patient's body, it will be considered as a cure. In this way many common non-medicinal substances are also being converted into medicine in homeopathy and used as a cure for the patient.

  • Does a patient know exactly what medicine is being given to him?

It actually depends a lot on the doctor or the person practicing homeopathy. However, most patients do not know exactly what medicine they are taking. And in pharmacies, homeopathic medicines are only identified by their Latin names. Critics of homeopathy, however, have repeatedly claimed that the medicine given to a patient should include the German name (perhaps English in other countries) so that the patient understands what he is taking as medicine.

  • What else is in homeopathic medicine?

Crystal sugar is a key ingredient in homeopathic remedies. And homeopathic substances in liquid form cannot be called anything other than alcohol or water. This is because the active components are so diluted that they are difficult to identify.

  • What is the relationship between homeopathy and naturopathy?

Naturopathy and phytotherapy are considered scientific. However, homeopathy has nothing to do with these two. Herbal teas, for example, contain many identifiable active ingredients, and homeopathic medicine has many unrecognizable ingredients.

  • What is the biggest risk of homeopathic therapy?

The time a patient spends taking ineffective homeopathic remedies can make their disease more complicated. For example, if a cancer patient chooses homeopathic remedies instead of chemotherapy or radiotherapy, it can be difficult to treat his cancer later. And in such cases the risk of death of the patient increases. In addition, if a parent in Germany forces his or her child to seek homeopathic treatment outside the conventional medical system, he or she may face legal complications.

  • So what does the success of homeopathy depend on?

Homeopathic doctors usually spend several hours to find out about a patient and his disease. They try to understand the patient's weaknesses through empathy and through intensive discussion create a situation where the patient begins to feel important. This is why homeopathy is considered by many to be psychotherapy rather than medicine. In this way, an attempt is made to awaken the self-feeling power of a person. Medicine is a minor issue here. Homeopathy is therefore a matter of faith, not logic

  • Homeopathic medicine is gaining popularity:

With the exception of newly discovered diseases, many old diseases can be almost completely eradicated through homeopathy. According to a study, about 40% of the total population of Bangladesh seeks homeopathic treatment. "The number of people seeking homeopathic treatment in this country has increased at least fourfold in the last 15 years," said Dr Jahangir Alam, who conducted the study. We say that Bangladesh is self-sufficient in allopathic medicine. One revolution after another is happening in our domestic medicine sector. About 98% of the country's demand for medicines is produced in the country, about 113 countries in the world are exported medicines made in Bangladesh. Despite all this, Ayurvedic, Unani and Homoeopathic medicine are gaining popularity along with the traditional medical system in the country.

According to the Ministry of Health, 278 allopathic medicine manufacturers in the country now produce medicines and raw materials worth about Tk 15,619 crore a year. Besides, 266 Unani, 205 Ayurvedic, 79 Homoeopathic and 32 Herbal medicine manufacturers of the country produce medicines worth around Tk 850 crore. Looking at the market, it is understood that the demand for these medical systems is increasing.

  • Why the growing demand?

To give an example, suppose one of the kidneys is damaged. He was taken to an allopathic doctor

  • What will the doctor say?

Be sure to tell the patient that he needs a kidney transplant. A lot of money is needed for this operation. Think about how much money can be and what kind of misery can be borne. So there is no guarantee that it will be better if you have a kidney transplant. Those who do not have money then look for alternative ways and eventually appear in Ayurvedic, Unani or Homeopathic treatments. Here, the treatment is done for a small amount of money, people do not think what the result will be .... start the treatment, because, someone may have been better at this treatment - there are examples!

Martina Fleischmann has a deep faith in homeopathy. He goes to the homeopathic doctor for any ailment. He first came in contact with homeopathy while undergoing treatment for his son. Martina Fleischmann's son was suffering from hyperactivity disorder, meaning he could not stay still. The doctor gave him a prescription for the psychiatric drug Psychotropic. Martina became terrified Then the word homeopathy came to his mind. She is worried about her son's symptoms. Psychotropic drugs 'retail' can only suppress the symptoms of the disease, not cure it. His statement was that homeopathy has made his son better.

Dr. Karin Bundelin, a homeopath, treated Martina's son. Martina also now goes to Dr. Bundelin in sickness. Small homeopathic pills can activate the body's immune system. When a healthy person takes medicine for a disease, the symptoms of that disease appear in his body. For example, a sore throat can be caused when a healthy person takes the same medication that Martina takes for sore throat. Although not fully proven from a scientific point of view, many Germans are becoming more and more confident in homeopathy. In this regard, Dr. Karin Bundelin, a homeopath, said that when he first started this treatment, when one of his patients went to buy medicine, the shopkeeper would say that ... if he sells medicine to patients, they can eat it or throw it away. The same thing will happen. But Karin Bundelin doesn't think so now ...... that it would be easy for anyone to talk like this today.

There are a lot of books on homeopathy and medicine available in the market now. 57% of Germans believe in homeopathy. Medicinal ingredients are diluted with water or spirits to reduce their toxicity and increase their effectiveness. This is what is considered in homeopathy. Allopathy doctors, however, view this issue with suspicion. But patients like Doris Road have full confidence in homeopathy. If Doris has neck pain, then she goes for homeopathy treatment. He has also treated his son's whooping cough with homeopathic pills. In his words, "I understand that my decision was the right one. Although a friendly allopathic doctor told us we were playing with the boy's life. "

  • Is this the only reason?

Man has some secret disease, which he is afraid to tell anyone. Herbal or homeopathic clinics have sprung up to provide the secret solutions to these hidden diseases. Leaflet is distributed for this treatment.

  • Is it scientific?

Homeopathy survives centuries of controversy over the likes and dislikes of ‘Like cures Like’ and the power to alleviate. But the unbelievable thing is, science still doesn't have the answer to how homeopathic medicine works. International Conference on Traditional Medicine, Unani, Ayurveda, Herbal and Homeopathy has been held in Dhaka. The conference was held from 13 to 15 January 2016 at the Senate Building of Dhaka University (DU).

  • Who was the organizer, you know?

DU Faculty of Pharmacy!

A total of 800 academics, including 50 people from 32 countries, 100 from India and 650 from Bangladesh, were represented by researchers, students, regulators and representatives of manufacturers.

  • So if you ask these questions - are they scientific, will people believe you?

  • Homeopathy cannot cure all diseases:

Of course, homeopathy cannot do everything well. For example: Cancer. Conventional medicine is needed for this disease. However, homeopathy can continue as well. Doris Road also suffered from allopathy due to her son's lung infection. In this context, Doris Road said that the disease was not getting better with homeopathic treatment, it was necessary to take the help of antibiotics. Martina Fleischmann, however, has had good experience in homeopathy. He has strong confidence in small pills. Martina said that without homeopathy, she would not be where she is today. In a word, she is very well now.

  • Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, the father of homeopathy, was born on April 10, 1755, in the German state of Saxony.

He obtained his MD degree in medical science in 1779. In 1796, Hahnemann invented a new medical method. He later renamed this method Homeopathy. The key to homeopathy is to cure the patient with a little medicine. It was at this time that physicians and pharmacists began to oppose Hahnemann, considering homeopathy to be against their own interests. Unable to withstand this pressure, Hahnemann left Germany and moved to Paris, the capital of France There he died on July 2, 1843.

  • Origin of homeopathy:

The origin of homeopathy is in Germany, about two hundred years ago. Although its use in the Indian subcontinent began about eighty years ago; that is, after the First World War.

Homeopathy Day is celebrated on April 10 in Bangladesh like many other countries on the birth anniversary of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the father of this medical system.

Homeopathy began in the United States in 1825 and continues to this day, despite its discouragement. In developing countries, it is one of the main alternative treatments for the poor. Homeopathy became very popular in the Indian subcontinent and spread throughout the twentieth century. This treatment has been going on in Bangladesh for a long time. In the United States, these drugs are concentrated from vegetable or common chemicals, and physicians dilute them as needed, as directed in the guidebook. There are many books on homeopathy in Bengali and this treatment is being done in the country on the basis of these. Recently, a number of homeopathy colleges have been established for formal education in cities and towns of the country.

It is true that with the advancement of science in the present age, many medicines made from medicinal plant ingredients are making effective contribution in the field of allopathic medicine as well as in the treatment of diseases. However, the real medicine is not being implemented here due to the fraudulent drug manufacturers and fake Kabirajs of Unani and Ayurvedic industries.

  • Vehicles and roads must not be a place to sell drugs?

There are more fraudsters than the real organization. There are five hundred Unani and Ayurvedic institutions blacklisted by the Department of Drug Administration, who are cheating the public one after another. These fraudulent companies, which manufacture medicines for all complex diseases, have been trading Unani and Ayurvedic medicines all over the country, including the capital, year after year.

According to Section 14 of the Drugs Ordinance, 1982, advertisements for the marketing of any type of drugs are strictly prohibited and punishable, but these blacklisted companies have long been carrying out advertisements in various national dailies without paying any attention to the drug administration. Among the registered companies, the medicines of 20 companies are of good quality.

  • So what are the others doing?

Inferior people give birth to inferior offspring and, thus, propagate their inferiority attracted by these attractive advertisements, less educated and uneducated people are being deceived every day. A network of these fraudsters has been set up across the capital. As soon as you go out on the streets, you can see that its members are attracting people by distributing small cards and leaflets. Only the drug administration can find a better way to control and free the general public from these fraudsters. Essential medicines are considered essential for the treatment of diseases. Medicines are products of a certain chemical quality, made artificially or collected from natural sources. Their chemical composition is complex and is used in the treatment and prevention of various diseases.

I have heard of homeopathy, but I have not personally used any homeopathic remedy. My friend told me that she went to a homeopathic doctor because she had one rare genetic disease. She received two medications from the mentioned doctor. The doctor said to take one and if it does not bring good results, after a certain period to take another medicine. Unfortunately, neither of the two drugs helped treat the disease.
