On the 8th anniversary of the #blockchain on April 18, 2022, the #Monero community has planned The Monerun event: We are withdrawing #XMR from all exchanges that have not disabled the withdrawal of funds (which many of them have already done). Whatever happens on April 18, remember that this is just the first retaliatory strike. Now you know what to do on April 18… This is a response to the ongoing shady practice of centralized exchanges using fictitious Monero. It is known that instead of providing transparency reports, exchanges suspend the withdrawal of XMR and distort the volume of cryptocurrency reserves. Suspecting that these organizations are selling XMR #cryptocurrency, which they don't actually have (the so-called fictitious Monero), the community decided to expose them and coordinate efforts to massively withdraw XMR from centralized exchanges: #Binance, #Huobi and #Poloniex should be excluded from Coingecko's XMR statistics... It is quite obvious that these exchanges do not have available XMR, which they "sell and provide" to their users. For those who are not in the subject: the ban on the withdrawal of Monero is a sign of shorts on CEX. What they do is sell Monero, which they don't actually have, and allow customers to "store" it only in wallets controlled by a centralized #exchange.
