#Ethereum miners behind the proposed fork Say They have dismantled the "complexity bomb". As Ethereum prepares for a "merger", an update that will transfer its network to a Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism instead of Proof-of-Stake, some miners are preparing for a hard fork. Ethereum Miners and #HardFork. A hard fork or a kind of separation of the blockchain will allow miners to break away from the Ethereum chain after the merger and try to continue the health check chain, called "ETHPoW". The motivation of miners is not surprising here: as soon as the merger takes place and Ethereum switches to proof of stake, they will lose their source of income. The #ETHPoW team admits that their goal is "not easy", but they are still very confident in their potential for success. In a recent post, they claimed that they had already eliminated the main obstacles in their path, including the so-called complexity bomb. "We have dismantled the complexity bomb and completed the preparation of the test network," the ETHPoW team wrote, addressing their claims to the Ethereum Classic development team, which also arose as a result of the controversial Ethereum fork in 2015. The difficulty bomb is a mechanism designed to encourage the network to abandon proof of work, exponentially increasing the level of difficulty of the puzzles required for mining, which makes the continuation of mining unviable. Removing the complexity bomb may seem like an important step if miners hope to continue working on ETHPoW as usual. "In the face of such a hard struggle, this tough bifurcation is inevitable," the ETHPoW team wrote. Many in the Ethereum community reacted to this with jokes. "Thanos also said he was inevitable and we all know what happened to him," EthHub co—founder Anthony Sassano, known as Sassal, wrote on Twitter on Friday, referring to the Marvel Comics supervillain.
