Investors continue to buy #Bitcoin (BTC) on the fall below $19,000. The number of bitcoin wallets with a #balance from 1 to 10 BTC exceeded 750 thousand, despite the fact that the bitcoin exchange rate fell below $ 19,000 Over the past day, the bitcoin exchange rate has dropped below the key mark of $19,000 and tested the minimum level for the last nine weeks. BTC/USD formed a local minimum at $18,700. This is the lowest value since July 2022. Despite the collapse of the price, the number of wallets with a balance of 1-10 #BTC exceeded 750 thousand. The number of addresses with a balance of one to ten bitcoins has been steadily growing since the end of December 2021 — since the price fell below $50,000. Experts are confident that the main driver of demand remains interest from institutional investors. According to Anthony Scaramucci, the head of the SkyBridge hedge fund, this factor will contribute to the growth of the number of active bitcoin wallets. He also transforms the #cryptocurrency into an instrument of protection against inflation. Financial institutions such as BlackRock have noted a steady increase in interest in bitcoin, despite the fact that it has lost almost two-thirds of its value since November 2021. The British investment conglomerate Abrdn and Charles Schwab are already developing bitcoin pools: Abrdn bought a stake in a crypto #exchange, and Schwab launched a cryptocurrency exchange product. The collapse of the price provoked a large-scale liquidation of positions in the market. During the day, the volume of liquidation exceeded $355 million, while at the peak of sales, positions worth more than $40 million were closed in just an hour and a half. A significant part of the liquidations occurred on the fall below $18,964. Positions worth $83 million and $140 million, respectively, were closed on #OKX and #Binance.
