The analytical firm Chainalysis, which is engaged in tracking cryptocurrency transactions, has acquired "a certain amount of bitcoins." The purchase was made with the assistance of the asset management company NYDIG. Chainalysis shared information about the purchase with its Twitter readers. The company said the purchase was "driven by extreme confidence in bitcoin" and confidence in NYDIG's expertise in digital assets. "This is the first cryptocurrency acquisition for Chainalysis. And we will continue to use other digital assets as potential future investments," said the head of the company, Michael Gronager. He did not disclose the cost of the purchased bitcoins. The data that Chainalysis has at its disposal has been in great demand this year during attacks by ransomware hackers demanding payment in cryptocurrency. For example, the company participated in the investigation of the actions of the cryptocurrency exchange platform SUEX OTC, against which sanctions were imposed by the US government. The value of Chainalysis reached $4.2 billion. During the last round of financing, the company raised $100 million. #Cryptocurrency
