The Ministry of Finance of #Belarus has published amendments aimed at attracting investment funds to the country for public consultations. Despite the existence of a regulatory framework for collective investments, not a single fund is registered in the state. One of the main reasons for the absence of such funds was the inability to invest in crypto assets, representatives of professional circles say. The Ministry of #Finance has acknowledged that the market for "digital signs (tokens)", the legal term used to describe cryptocurrencies, is growing at a rapid pace without receiving proper support. To remove the restrictions, the Ministry has prepared a resolution on amendments to the document on activities in the securities market of investment funds. It is planned to allow funds to work as securities dealers and residents of the Belarusian Hi-Tech Park (HTP). The Park has a special legal regime established for the development of the country's digital economy, including the crypto sector. Another problem identified by professionals is the lack of long-term guarantees from the government on tax benefits for the industry. To solve this problem, the Ministry of Finance has submitted new provisions extending tax benefits for organizations working with collective investments until January 1, 20.01. Despite the ban on the use of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment in Belarus, HTP residents can issue and exchange coins and tokens, and the country's largest bank provides services for the purchase and sale of digital currencies. According to the Chainalsis cryptocurrency Adoption Index, Belarus ranks third in Eastern Europe after #Russia and #Ukraine. #BTC #CryptoCurrency #ETH #DOGE
