#Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosting accounts for 50% of the nodes of the #Ethereum network. This was reported in the report by Messari analysts. According to published data, centralized providers account for up to 70% of the deployed Ethereum nodes: 50% on #AWS, 15% on #Hetzner and 4% on #OVH. Only 31% of Ethereum nodes do not depend on large hosting providers, Messari found out. Such centralization can threaten the independence of many decentralized applications (#DeFi) that rely on a permanent connection to the Ethereum network through intermediaries. In addition to Ethereum, centralization is also recorded in the #Solana network, where Hetzner accounts for 42% of deployed nodes, OVH — 26%, and AWS only 3%. The dependence of many nodes in the Ethereum network on Amazon is also confirmed by other analytical platforms. According to Ethernodes, 1436 nodes are deployed on AWS, 416 on Hetzner, and 114 nodes on OVH. It is noteworthy that 106 nodes are deployed on #Alibaba, but in percentage terms, Chinese hosting controls only 3.8% of nodes. Earlier, Trail of Bits analysts found out that each blockchain is somehow under the control of privileged users who are able to change the network structure at their discretion. #CryptoCurrency #ETH #SOL #Nodes #Mining #PoS
