The US Treasury Department has proposed expanding the reporting requirements for brokers in relation to cryptocurrencies. As stated in the explanations to the draft budget for 2022, with the development of the digital asset market, taxpayers have the opportunity to avoid paying taxes. The Finance Ministry writes: "Tax evasion using crypto assets is a rapidly growing problem." The initiative is intended to be extended to cryptocurrency exchanges and custodial wallets, among others. They will be required to transmit information about the beneficiaries of the accounts to the international information exchange network, which includes the United States. If approved, the measure will take effect from 2023. #CryptoTrading
