Paytaca has launched its latest update, version 0.22.0, and it’s got some exciting new features. The highlight of this release is the early alpha version of “StableHedge”, a tokenized BCH hedging solution that promises to bring more stability to Paytaca wallet users. Additionally, users can now search transactions by Reference ID, making it easier to track their activity. The update also includes improved notifications, restored multiple recipients, enhanced transaction details, and a more intuitive sending experience. The P2P Exchange has been streamlined, and Wallet Connect is now enabled on chipnet. To top it all off, several bug fixes have been implemented to improve the overall reliability of the platform. Jason Dreyzehner has proposed a another upgrade to the Bitcoin Cash network, dubbed CHIP-2025–01 TXv5: Transaction Version 5. The upgrade proposes numerous improvements, including zero-overhead covenants, detached signatures, comprehensive malleability protection, efficient covenant UTXO recycling, fractional satoshis, and fractional CashTokens. According to Dreyzehner, these changes will enable user-deployed financial and privacy covenants to minimize transaction sizes, matching or outperforming purpose-built “layer 1” networks. The proposal is currently in draft form and is expected to be debated ahead of the the Bitcoin Cash network upgrade in May 2027. Bitcoin Cash Argentina is back with its fifth Flipstarter campaign, aiming to raise 320 BCH to continue expanding the BCH ecosystem in Argentina. The team has been promoting BCH and growing the community through various initiatives, including meetups, debates, educational videos, and merchant adoption. The new campaign will focus on launching the Bitcoin Cash Argentina Club, a unique space for community members to connect and learn, as well as implementing new lotteries, BCH Experience events, and influencer partnerships. Rearden, a Bitcoin educator and developer, recently joined a General Protocols discussion to explore the differences in approach to network upgrades between Bitcoin Cash and BTC. Rearden discussed his own proposal, LNhance, which aims to improve the script interpreter and enable more efficient protocol development. The conversation touched on the challenges of achieving consensus in a decentralized network, contrasting how consensus works between the 2 sides of the fork. Rearden also noted that it may be necessary to fork the Bitcoin software if the current maintainers are no longer acting in good faith. All in all a very interesting and respectful debate.
