This pigeon likes to be near water sources. ۔ Physical measurements: Size = 235 mm Weight = up to 110 grams Wing span = up to 350 mm ۔ Age: Not confirmed ۔ Food: The Khargiya pigeon's diet consists mainly of seeds and grains. These insects also feed on seeds added to insects and domestic birds. ۔ Mortgages and Breeding: These pigeons usually live and bite in pairs or groups of up to 20. But sometimes they have been seen flying up to 400 darts. Pigeons live in a very harsh environment where it is very hot during the day and cold at night. They build their nests in the grass and bushes. They don't have a specific breeding season, but they can breed all year round. Khargiya pigeons lay 2 eggs per season which hatch after 18 days. Chicks are reared under the care of their parents for up to 6 months after birth. ۔ Survival status: Deforestation is depleting its population due to the destruction of natural habitats and lack of food resources, but so far no serious threat to its species.
