I’ve realized that no matter how hard I try how much effort I put in, how patient or understanding I try to be some people just aren’t willing to meet me halfway. They’re too caught up in their own ego, their own narrow mindset, to see anything beyond themselves. It’s frustrating, honestly. I give my best with good intentions, hoping for clarity or respect, and instead I’m met with selfishness or silence. But at the end of the day, I know I can’t control how others choose to act. I can only control how I show up. And I’m still going to show up with honesty and heart, even if it goes unnoticed. Because I’m not doing it for them anymore I’m doing it for me.
