Logo Design Contest: The Bitcoin Mining Parliament (BMP)

The Bitcoin Mining Parliament (The BMP) needs a logo! And we’re willing to pay for the best one!

Grand Prize: $400 in Bitcoin Cash

Requirements

• The logo should be presented in a high resolution of at least 2000x2000 px.

• The logo should look minimally acceptable at a resolution of 200x200 px.

• The logo is preferred to be circular, shaped like a seal, though this requirement is not absolute.

• The logo should be delivered in the PNG and SVG formats, and available with a transparent background.

• The logo must be free of copyrighted elements. It must be original. If you use copyrighted elements, be sure to provide evidence that you have secured the appropriate rights.

• The logo should be minimalistic.

• The logo should be not overly busy or detailed but should communicate an air of high technology.

• The logo should reflect values such as: voluntarism, non-violence, consensus, neutrality, electronic cash, mining, global adoption, Bitcoin.

• The logo must contain a slogan like:

  • In Hashpower We Trust

  • The Nakamoto Consensus

  • The Byzantine Generals

• The logo must contain “BMP” or “The Bitcoin Mining Parliament”.

• The logo should contain the hash of the whitepaper, small and in the background.

Process

The contest will take place in two stages. It is absolutely essential you follow the process to the letter, otherwise you risk being ineligible to win.

Stage 1: 17 Aug to 24 Aug

1. Design a logo concept and publish it to read.cash. Include full-resolution download links.

2. On 24 Aug 2020, we will create a reddit thread for the selection process. Post your read.cash link from step 1 as a top-level comment in this thread, prefaced by the words: “Judge my BMP logo”.

3. We will select the top 4 logos, each of which will receive $25 in BCH. 

4. At least the top 4 logos will receive feedback with suggestions for improvement.

Stage 2: 25 Aug to 1 Sep

1. Improve a top-4 logo concept, or create a new logo, and publish it to read.cash. Include full-resolution download links.

2. On 1 Sep 2020, we will create a reddit thread for the selection process. Post your read.cash link from step 1 as a top-level comment in this thread, prefaced by the words: “Judge my BMP logo”.

3. We will select the top logo. The winner will receive the $400 grand prize and the winning logo will be used by The BMP in all its marketing materials, events, etc.

Winning logo designers must email a statement to gonzo@virtualpol.com assigning all intellectual property rights in the logo to Javier Gonzalez prior to collecting their prize winnings. Failure to do so within 7 days of announcement of your winning status will constitute forfeiture of said status.
