When you are given criticism how do you react?
Do you get angry or you stay calm?
We sometimes get criticism, I think because, of our body, appearance, about our life, work, artworks, performance and many more.
We really can't prevent or stop other people in judging us, they say what they want to say, it maybe rude or not. But are you strong enough to accept such criticisms?
Sometimes those criticism are really rude and below the belt. People sometimes don't think before talking.
Especially on social media, like facebook, instagram, twitter and youtube. People can easily say, type or comment anything they want. Based on my observations, some people who get criticisms are the ones , that people think they are not good enough.
So how do we accept Criticisms?
#1 Stop your first reaction or Pause
Sometimes criticisms are really rude and disrespectful, that can make us angry or aggressive. To be safe , we should pause first or stop our first reaction.
#2 Think of why they said that
People always have a reason when they judge or criticize you. Think why they said that, or ask for their reason.
#3 Listen and Understand
Listen and understand why they gave criticism to you. There is always a reason or explanation.
#4 Stay Calm
When you burst out your emotions or reactions easily, people will continue to judge you, just stay calm.
#5 Express appreciation and Don't get it too personal
People give you criticism because of something you did, and not about who you are as a person. Learn to appreciate and show them that you understand.
When people criticize you, accept it as a lesson for you. Show them how good you are. Accepting criticism does not mean that you agree with them. We cannot prevent and stop people from judging and criticizing us, but they cannot stop us from doing our best and being successful.
