My first painting exhibition Receive a warm greeting They say that remembering is living again the beautiful moments that passed through our lives, and yes, I think so. Today I am remembering when making this post, that September 11, 2012 when La Flor de Venezuela opened its doors for me to make my debut as a plastic artist. It was a crazy emotion that overflowed from my chest, I remember that together with my husband we mounted more than 30 works (already presented in my previous posts) on the metal walls with holes and we tied them with wire so that the wind did not blow them away; we were at that job for two days. I had the happiness of having the support at that time of two wonderful people who still accompany me in this fascinating world of painting, Lic. Gisela Gil, who at that time was the General Manager of the institution and who approved the request. of the Exhibition and Mr. Al Vanegas, plastic artist, museum designer, curator and visual arts consultant, who was in charge of the distribution of the works by style and theme (it had to be that way because at that time and being a Nobel I did not have a defined style), and who opened my eyes to the possibility of reaching high when I discovered it. I clearly remember how my husband, my children and I prepared for this special event. While I organized the triptych, the invitations and the opening remarks, they were devoted to the refreshments, the dance, the photos, the press and other things. The event was enlivened by the Academia de Flamenco Andalucía. Its Director Analiz Suarez, along with my beautiful daughter Andreína and other girls were the ones who gave the audience a fun time of fun. It was a very special day in my life and that is why I share it with joy. FROM YOUR WINDOW TO MINE From your window to mine, thoughts dissipate restlessly, when under lucid and colorful cloaks, effervescence mingles that make my dreams boil. Colors, lights and shadows, tireless game, that is unleashed in my brush, when it drowns in paint, and goes to the riotous canvas. and takes me away from the everyday. Then the metamorphosis occurs, and the marvelous gift, blooms subtle, abstract, divine, I take my wings to the wind and I begin to fly in silence. A flow of colors, dress up in gala, making reborn the hidden part of my being. Flow of colors, that make me understand the simple beauty of lines that blend in the purest harmony, until they become for me into pure poetry. Muse that inspires me, muse that unleashes, dances to create, dances to paint, dances to fill my life with great joy. From your window to mine, I share one of my most beautiful gifts, the precious gift of writing and painting, given to me by God and inherited by my beloved mother, unique and admirable woman. ***MOMENT OF THE INAUGURATION*** ***OPENING REMARKS*** ***OPEN EXHIBITION*** ***STATEMENTS FOR TV, RADIO AND PRESS*** ***INVITATION*** ***TRIPTICO*** ***PRESS CLIPPINGS*** ***Eight years have already passed since that beautiful moment that started what I have today: my own style and a rising career as a visual artist.*** ***I am MACARRÉ.*** If you want to appreciate my works and know more about me as a visual artist, I leave you my networks so you can follow me. https://www.instagram.com/?hl=es https://icalmarte.com/maria-lorena-carrero/ https://www.facebook.com/macarre147 https://nftshowroom.com/artemacarre/gallery

Halloween | From my point of view Next October 31 will be held in many countries around the world the celebration of Halloween. I have been thinking about this publication for several days, analyzing texts, consulting experts on the subject, two or three Catholic priests with their different points of view and all this to reach a very personal conclusion that I want to share in this space. There are many criticisms of this celebration, starting with the Catholic Church in which my heart is set, so I took on the task of reading, analyzing and asking several priests who gave me their points of view on this controversial issue. Of those consulted and read, I was left with the reflective reading that I feel in my opinion is the one that my conscience and heart accepted as the most accurate proposal and this priest gives us a lesson on how we can see this holiday without having it as something satanic and macabre. This opinion I share is from a priest I follow on social networks who is well known for saying and acting according to his conscience. He states that there are no solid arguments that define why this feast can NOT be celebrated, since the only thing the church alleges is that it has a pagan connotation (contrary to the faith). But then he shows why many Christian celebrations are celebrated with similar characteristics to Halloween; an example is when the church replaced the Roman feast to the sun god by the birth of the true sun that rises from above (Luke 1, 78 - 79), also speaks in his text, that certain costumes used on television related to evil are contrary to morality and good manners of faith and values of the gospel; He says that it would then be necessary to eliminate in Mexico the feast of the skull or here in Venezuela that of the dancing devils of Yare to whom the Catholic Church gave a sense of defeat of evil by the Corpus Christi. He also makes eloquence towards the great number of good and innocent monsters that we knew in movies and television, such as: Gasparin, the Milton monster, the Adams family, the Monsters and Bewitched where he jokingly highlights that this witch was nicer than her gossipy evangelical neighbor. He also expresses that saying that Harry Potter, the Smurfs or Hello Kitty are diabolical is paranoid. Now this priest in turn expresses that this party feeds insane pranks but makes a stop and calls for reflection: "children are naughty by nature", and if the community where these children live agrees that it is something cultural and innocent pranks, this argument has no weight. In conclusion, this priest expresses the following: As Hallowen is commonly celebrated, is it a cult of evil? No, there is no transgression of the commandments, nor of moral or Christian principles, nor is it witchcraft or spiritism, nor is there any official Vatican document against it. Let not religious fanatics divert our attention from the really serious and important things of the country. Now, after understanding this issue I realized that there is a great power of persuasion to reject celebrations like Halloween by the Catholic Church, to such an extent that I felt I was wrong to create a children's story, where I commonly use fictional characters such as witches, fairies, goblins, talking animals and others. But well I always say God places the lamp on the path and we light it and get the light to clarify it. Do you think this is a hot topic? I invite you to give your opinion, it is always good to debate and learn about the different points of view. **Elaboration process** ***This is how my drawing turned out*** If you want to appreciate my works and know more about me as a visual artist, I leave you my networks so you can follow me. https://www.instagram.com/?hl=es https://icalmarte.com/maria-lorena-carrero/ https://www.facebook.com/macarre147 https://nftshowroom.com/artemacarre/gallery

Title: Creole harp, cuatro, maracas and drums. ***CREOLE HARP, CUATRO, MARACAS and DRUMS*** *****TECHNICAL DATA***** Technique: Mixed: oil pastel, pastel chalk and acrylic on cardboard. Size: 28 x 21,5 cms. Year: 2018. Author: @artemacarre *****MATERIALS:***** White opaline cardboard. Pastel chalk sticks. Pastel Oil Pastel sticks. White acrylic. Brush 0 Graphite pencil. Eraser. ***Typical Musical Instruments of Venezuela*** THE CUATRO It is one of the main instruments that define Venezuelan music. Its origin is derived from the Spanish guitar, and because it is a chordophone instrument, it is formed by a resonance box which amplifies the sound of the strings, which are made of materials such as silk, vegetable fibers, guts, etc. It is called Cuatro because of the number of strings it has and there are many variants of it, such as the four and a half, the five, the five and a half, the six and the eighth. **THE CREOLE HARP** It is derived from the Celtic harp and is composed of three parts: a resonance box, a column and a console, the number of strings is variable (between 30 and 37) as well as the size of the box and the material used for the manufacture of the strings. Its classification is given according to the region of the country, and can be: tuyera harp, central harp and llanera harp. **MARACAS** They are rattles made with the fruit of the dry taparo, which is an ornamental tree. It has a spherical shape and when it is clean inside, seeds of various kinds (corn, small stones, seeds) are introduced. The maracas have a wooden handle each, which allows them to be shaken and produce the typical sound. These are used in pairs and together with the harp and the cuatro, it is one of the most popular instruments in Venezuela, they are used for gaitas, parrandas and many times they are part of the costumes of some of the most important dance groups in the country. **DRUMS** They are inherited from the African culture and most of the Venezuelan drums are used in traditions of ritual character such as the festivities in honor of San Benito, San Juan Bautista, San Antonio or in the wakes of Cruz de Mayo. In the Barlovento area the drums are very popular and in most of the coastal areas of the country, you can appreciate at almost any time of the year their performance of drumming and dancing in squares and seafronts, for the amusement of visitors. ***I share with you my humble opinion as an educator:*** Education is an essential tool with which we can teach and give to understand the true value and meaning of our roots. If we fail as human beings to understand the importance of music as a medium that interacts with our lives, socially, politically and culturally, we will never be able to achieve that longed-for state of harmony in the society in which we live and coexist. I believe that until we educate our children from our homes and schools, love for traditions and love for values, we will not achieve good and permanent results in the formation of good citizens for the future of nations. Series: Women's Faces | Title: Fémina There are infinite ways that a woman has to express her whole being through the look, but one that stands out the most, in my opinion, is the sensual one. It is the look that traps, that envelops, that makes the senses are enhanced to the maximum. Title : spiders Welcome to my space, where art in painting and drawing come together to bring joy and color to our lives. Today I bring you a new technique (out of my style), actually it is one of the many techniques with temperas, which I used to do with my children in my preschool classroom, with which the children had a lot of fun because of the materials used to paint. The difference in this my creation, is that I did it with acrylics, I hope you like it. Spiders ***MATERIALS:*** White opaline cardboard Acrylic paints. Water sprayer. Wooden stick. ***TECHNICAL DATA SHEET:*** Technique: acrylic on cardboard. Size: 32 x 26 cms. Year: 2018. Author: @artemacarre. Step by step In this first step I diluted several colors with water to obtain a liquid consistency, then with the wooden stick I began to make the spiders with ease in the stroke. As I was drawing the spiders with the colors and dropping drops of color, I was spraying with water so that the colors were diluted a little more and gave that wet effect. And this was the result If you want to appreciate my works and know more about me as a visual artist, I leave you my networks so you can follow me. https://www.instagram.com/?hl=es https://icalmarte.com/maria-lorena-carrero/ https://www.facebook.com/macarre147 https://nftshowroom.com/artemacarre/gallery

Title: Fugaz || Series: Faces of women Happy and blessed day beautiful people and art lovers. Sketch that I will soon take to large format. One look always shuts up some words, reflects the inner magnetism of the soul, has in it caresses that destroy or who just love. ***FUGAZ*** Technical data sheet: Technique: Oil pastel on white opaline cardboard Measures: 30 x 15 cms. Applying dark colors to achieve the depth and internal proportion of the face In the first photo I'm working the hair with long wavy lines applying the different colors in their light and dark tones to give the desired shine. Step by step : Customize my chair ***"THE COLOR MY LIFE AND MY JOY"*** When we acquire furniture for our home we think that they are eternal and that they will last us for years intact as well as when we buy, but it turns out not, and more if we have them in a place where they are exposed to the rain and the sun that they do give them direct to them. Well, this is my project, I decided to customize the wooden and wrought iron chairs that I have at the entrance of my home. Customizar is a verb that is not part of the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) but that, however, has a fairly frequent use in our language. It is an adaptation of the English term customize, which refers to modify something according to personal preferences. "Change or modify things according to our personal preferences" phrase very well said for what I show you next, in the style @artemacarre I hope you like it because I loved the result. https://hive.blog/@artemacarre CHAIR TO THE STYLE @artemacarre https://hive.blog/@artemacarre ***Restoration Process*** I had weeks thinking about how to customize my chairs since they actually looked very damaged. What I was most worried about was what I was going to paint, until I decided to disassemble the chair and let out what my imagination wanted at the moment I was going to paint. That's how my chair was before disarming it, very damaged by the rain and the sun of so many years. First step: I removed the wood from the wrought iron frame. This second step for me was very emotional (I am very sentimental and crybaby), I started to sand all the pieces with the sander that was my dad's, he was the one who did this work for me and now I have to do it by myself, how I missed him at that moment. Third step: already with the wood ready, I proceeded to paint them white to have the background that would help me to enhance the colors when I applied them. Fourth step: I took the backboard, it was time to decide, then I imagined my chairs in my style with all the figures that identify me and that's how I started creating and painting. Fifth step: I applied the black color to the edges of my figures. Sixth step: I painted the wood of the seat and those of the arms. Seventh step: After painting the edges with black, I painted with varnish and let it dry for several hours, and in the evening I put my chair back together, leaving it that beautiful. ***FINAL SCORE*** ***By visiting my blog and sharing my creations, you are always welcome.*** **All my creations are my intellectual property, totally original and linked to my person both sentimentally and professionally.** If you want to appreciate my works and know more about me as a visual artist, I leave you my networks so you can follow me. https://www.instagram.com/?hl=es https://icalmarte.com/maria-lorena-carrero/ https://www.facebook.com/macarre147 https://nftshowroom.com/artemacarre/gallery

Title : Serenity Happy and blessed day beautiful people. Today with a special work and out of my style, it is a beautiful sunrise on one of the beaches of my beautiful Venezuela. I want to clarify that I did not take ANY MODEL TO FOLLOW, this landscape is in my memory of when with a nice cup of hot coffee, sitting on the sand, contemplating the majesty of the sun rising from the waters of my land. It was a great pleasure to be able to paint what my mind brought to my hands and to be able to capture it with my pastel chalks, which allowed me the exact blurring of what I wanted. I hope you like it and always at your service. ***SERENIDAD*** TECHNICAL DATA: Technique: Pastel chalk on opaline cardboard. Size: 30 x 20 cms. Title : Sunrise on the beach Today I bring you the pastel chalk technique. I like this technique very much, although I don't practice it much, because it is very versatile when applying the colors, since they become powder and can be blurred with each other creating spectacular effects of light and shadows. On the other hand, with this technique you can observe the paintings as if they were wrapped in a mist, which in my opinion, makes them much more interesting. I present you my creation of today, I hope you like it. Technical data. Technique: Pastel chalk on cardboard. Size: 20 x 25 cms. Year: 2018 Author: María Lorena Carrerro. MACARRÉ Step by step of my work. To begin with I always like to make a sketch with very subtle lines, because with this technique any pencil mark can be noticed. This drawing is born from longing for my beautiful BEACHES AND THEIR SUNSETS AND SUNSETS, it's been a long time since my husband and I went there, we used to travel every time we had the opportunity, well, those beautiful times will come back. First I worked the sky giving the tonalities from dark to light as I approached the sun and then painting the sea also with the tonalities of a sun falling on it. Then I worked on the sand and the waves to then delicately give the touch of light or project the sun's rays on all the surfaces, when I finished with that I worked on the boats, although I did not take the picture in this step, maybe I was inspired and I forgot, well then I worked on the palms and the distant boats. ***Obtaining this nice result.*** If you want to appreciate my works and know more about me as a visual artist, I leave you my networks so you can follow me. https://www.instagram.com/?hl=es https://icalmarte.com/maria-lorena-carrero/ https://www.facebook.com/macarre147 https://nftshowroom.com/artemacarre/gallery

The art of knitting with a needle | customizing Today I present a beautiful knitted sweater, made by me some time ago and that had been badly made, because the neck was too big and the sleeves did not go over my arms; the truth is that I found it in a bag and I took it out to fix it and / or customize it and wear something fashionable. MY HAND-KNITTED CROCHET SWEATER Materials: 6 rolls of blue-gray wick yarn. Knitting needle # 0000 Scissors. ELABORATION This is how my original sweater looked like. First I started by undoing the sleeves. Then I went up the back and neck to make it more closed and to be able to join it giving it the desired length. (Always with my coffee cup) After finishing the collar, I started knitting the sleeves. All parts ready to be glued. My sweater looked so pretty, and when I wore it I looked beautiful, hahaha (modesty aside). I hope you like my pretty fuchsia bracelet with black beads, in Macramé weave. ***Materials:*** ***Fuchsia nylon thread*** ***Black beads.*** ***Scissors.*** ***Tinder.*** ***Measuring tape.*** ***Board to press the thread.*** ***Tweezers.*** PROCESS OF ELABORATION 1- I cut 2 threads, 1 of 180 cms and 1 of 120 cms. I took the 120 cm thread and folded it in half, then I measured 10 cm and at that point I pressed the thread on the board, both above and below, then the 180 cm thread, also folded in half, I passed it under the vertical thread horizontally and started making 4 flat knots. 2- When I finished making the flat knots, I introduced the first bead through the two guide threads and with the threads on the sides I made 3 "S" or simple knots on each side of the bead. 3- Then under the bead, I made 2 flat knots with the threads on the sides, to surround the bead. 4- And so I repeated the process until I reached the desired size. 5- At the end, I cut the excess threads on the sides and burned to seal, leaving the guide threads. 6- Finally, I proceeded to make the slip knot to open and close the bracelet, I made 4 flat knots. THIS IS HOW MY BRACELET TURNED OUT

How to make a macramé bracelet - step by step Welcome to my Macarré crafts space. Today I want to present you something very easy and beautiful to make, especially for girls who like to wear colorful, unique and original accessories. Here are the step by step details on how to make a beautiful macrame bracelet. ***Macramé is the art of making decorative knots. It is a very ancient art, since only the hands are used to execute it.*** I hope you like it and you can make it. These are the materials: Nylon thread (6 meters approximately), scissors, tinder or matches. Table with hook to press and if you don't have any weight support to press the threads. First, I took about 6 meters of blue nylon thread, which I then divided into 6 threads of equal size of one meter each. The work consists of passing the first thread under the second one and making two knots on top, continue with that first thread knotting twice, now the third thread, then the fourth, then the fifth and finally the sixth; so that the first thread will become the last one. Then repeat the process with the first thread and so on until the bracelet is finished. This is how the knots on the bracelet are going to look like. Once we have the measurement of the wrist of our hand, we let go of the base and stop tying knots to take all the threads and knot them at the end. This step is a little complicated for those who still do not have the experience, take a separate piece of thread and place it under the excess threads on each side of the bracelet, the straw is placed on top and with the thread below is given 5 or 6 turns around it and then gradually remove the straw and let the threads make the slipknot of our bracelet. And this is how my beautiful bracelet turned out: ***For your visit and comment. You are always welcome.***

My beginnings as a plastic artist The world of art is my passion, especially when it comes to painting. In my beginnings I experimented with different painting techniques among which watercolor, goache, pastel chalks and finally acrylic, a technique that captivated me and that is the one I use the most nowadays. Now, I tell you that I started with the artistic current of realism, because my mother, who was also a painter several years ago, was the one who introduced me to the beautiful world of this technique, which in my opinion is one of the most difficult to perfect. I started painting simple landscapes, then I dared to paint macaws, horses, still lifes and I also started with faces (each of these collections I will present in future publications). Many were the works of art painted from 2011 to the present, but it was in 2012 when I formally began my artistic career with my first solo exhibition at the Flor de Venezuela, Barquisimeto, Lara state. Venezuela, under the direction of the plastic artist museographer and curator Mr. Al Vanegas, a nice person who made me open my senses to focus on finding my own style. Today I want to share with you my first collection of realistic style landscapes so you will gradually get to know my evolution as a painter.

I am Macarre art: life, light and color Every stage of my life is and has been like the one I had to live and would live again. I am an extremely romantic woman, clinging to love as a way of life, that is why I have been, am and I believe I will be faithful until I am called from this earthly world; the luck I have had and have, is that so far I have been reciprocated very well in that aspect. I am also very passionate about everything related to art in all its branches, opera, for example, transports me to a magical world of sounds, sculpture to the figure of other dimensions and painting, which is my artistic life, which takes me to a parallel world, where only my paintings, my canvases, my brushes and me remain. In my character some say that I am very strict with myself, I demand the maximum in everything I undertake to stand out, I like to learn and more if it is related to my passions, I am one of those who think that to achieve what you want you have to venture, explore all possibilities and face the challenges that are put in the way. I am the most sentimental woman on the planet, I cry for everything, one of my most marked weaknesses, but I also enjoy my moments of peace and joy, like when I am with my husband, my children, with myself when I paint and write. My name is Maria Lorena Carrero, Venezuelan living in Costa Rica, mother of two adults, a 31 year old gentleman and a beautiful 30 year old lady, also grandmother of our only grandson, 4 years old, who lives far away from us and whom we have not been able to enjoy. I am a preschool teacher, writer and illustrator of children's stories and currently a visual artist. After retiring from the classroom I wrote my first and only book of children's stories: Colección entre Patas y Grillos. Fables for girls and boys (still unpublished) and then I dedicated myself completely to painting. As an artist I have 2 solo exhibitions, 11 exhibitions in museums and galleries in Venezuela and 8 international virtual exhibitions, and already known in the art world as MACARRÉ. I have in turn the joy of in 2015 having won first prize at the IX Divina Pastora Salon of the Municipal Institute of Culture and Art in Barquisimeto, Lara state. Venezuela. Now, with respect to my current life as a migrant, I must say that no one knows what it is like to go through this situation until you live it, because I tell you: "It is not easy", after having everything (both material and family) to go to have nothing and start again with the closest to one only and one or another necessary piece of furniture. But I am not complaining, life is hitting all of us Venezuelans hard and this in my opinion is a rebirth of new generations with different perspectives that will raise Venezuela from the ashes and make it bloom again as the most beautiful flower in Latin America.
