A dilemma is a scenario in which you must choose between two equally undesirable or unsatisfactory solutions. A moral dilemma, on the other hand, is a scenario in which the decision-maker must prioritize one moral value above another. While an individual is confronted with a difficult situation, such as two or more conflicting ideals, or when evaluating another's moral choice, such dilemmas develop.
Let us talk about the video that has gone viral on Facebook where a policeman shoots a mother and son dead in their own house. Will the case be considered as moral dilemma?
The case is about Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca, who fled in the wake of shooting a 52-year-old Sonya Gregorio and her 25-year-old son Frank Anthony Gregorio at Purok 2, Barangay Cabayaoasan, Paniqui, Tarlac on Sunday evening last December 20, 2020. About an ampere-hour after the occurrence, he led himself at the Rosales Pangasinan Municipal Police Station. The shooting was caught on camera that has gone viral on social media just a few hours after being uploaded. He heats his head instead of resolving the issue in a calm manner.
Analyzing the situation, it is clearly seen that Nuezca’s actions where truly injust. He broke several laws including trespassing and arresting without a legal warrant on hand. His actions in front of Sonya’s grandchildren could also cause trauma as well as to his child. A a police officer it is your job to enforce the law and maintain public order and safety which in the case Nuezca failed to do.

Studying morality helps us think through ethically complex situations before taking into action. If we make actions based on what we want or what we think is right, we might hurt others. It is important to assess the situation first going through possible courses of action and avoid negative consequences.
I have faced a lot of moral dilemma especially in school. Let me go through one, I have this classmate who is an easy go lucky person. Our teacher gave us an ample amount of time to finish our project in her subject. But, at the day of the submission he still haven’t done the project and asked me if I could do his project because he still has other requirements to do. If I will not help him do his project he might fail the subject but, if I do I would condone his laziness and procrastination and he will take credit for something he did not do. I was afraid for him to fail so I did the project but told him to stop procrastinating and being lazy afterwards.
We make decisions in our day to day life and these decisions come along with consequences that affects us and those around us. Understanding morality helps us in making the right choices with regards to what out culture and society have set. Also, we have to realize that moral vary from person to person, what we believe to be right or wrong might not be the same for others.
