A stranger with memories: The fear of losing friends
**People are not meant to stay forever.** They come and go. And as humans, a relationship is innate to us. When we are inside our mum's belly, a family relationship has already begun. We've built it at such a young age. And as we grow, friendship and love to others develop.
And like people, **relationships always come to an end, either by force or by death.** Some are meant to be longer, and some are meant to be like a wind. It may bring comfort, or it may bring dust along the wind - a discomfort.
When we are a child, we might not realize it, but we've built a lot of friendships. At the playgrounds, at the malls, in the classrooms, or even at restaurants where our parents brought us.
**Friendship can be like oxygen; unnoticed yet necessary.**
If you're an adult, you may already figure out the mystery behind friendships that are now gone. But if you're a teenager like me, you could be wondering now,
**"What is this feeling inside of me? A grieving emotion that must set free."**
***So, why does losing a friend scare you?***
You're a human - this explains it all. But I'm gonna keep going, lol.
Fear is inevitable. You may do everything to beat it but still feel it. You can do every single thing, therapy or meditation, but you can still feel fear. Why? **Because it's an emotion. It's part of being a human.**
You can't say your weak just because you're scared. It's just reminding you that you are alive! **Fear doesn't stop.** But, you can do certain things to minimize its negative impact on you.
Being scared of a bad event that has a high probability of happening can really negatively affects us, even though we are not sure when it'll happen. **Some of us are afraid of the unknown.** Because when that happens, you know that you'll be devastated.
And sometimes, we are not afraid of the event of losing friends; we are scared about the devastating emotion that comes after it: **the sadness from feeling alone.**
Or, we could be afraid that years of memories with special people will be wasted. **We invested emotion and time in it**, and of course, when you lose an investment, you'll feel shattered and devastated.
***Why do we lose them?***
Two sides of the coin don't apply with this situation (well, on some).
**Grow as we go | This is not a blame game**
Going through this phase doesn't always mean that you or your friend is toxic. It could mean that we just didn't go well together anymore. As people get older, having different goals, dreams, priorities, visions, and philosophies are normal.
**Remember, we are learning animals.** We continue to grow and develop.
What I realized from my past friendships is, **"the things that mediate us was lost"**. For certain situations, you could not be in the same school anymore, the same neighborhood, or the same organization. We now have nothing in common. **Our priorities now are not paralleled.**
**And most of the time, you just stop contacting each other.** A simple "Hi" cannot be seen. And no one has the guts to ask **why** or **what just happened?**
Why are we afraid to ask the other? **Because we're scared of the answers.** We fear that we might be the reason why the friendship has broken. We are afraid to know what kind of qualities we have that contributed to the sudden separation. **It is the fear of knowing.**
On the other hand, some friendships are just toxic. It's either you or the other. And if you know that you bring toxicity or you receive toxicity, please leave immediately.
If you are the toxic one, **please gradually change your behavior.** This world is being run where the majority categorically develops the right and moral behavior. And if you happen to negatively affect the majority of people, you have to develop better and moral characteristics for yourself and others. Utilitarianism it is.
And if you are the person who receives toxicity, please **know your worth.** Leave immediately.
***How did I address this fear?***
**1. Acceptance**
As I said before, people are not meant to stay forever. The reasons why friendship broke could be because we grow apart, we hurt each other, or we die. If it can't be fixed, then don't fix it. Acceptance will always be the first step. *Acknowledge that you have lost a friend.*
**2. Grieve**
Remember, grieving doesn't only happen when someone dies. You can also grieve when a friendship ends. *Death is not only limited to the physical body of the people,* but it can also connote the idea of losing connection with someone, with or without closure. Cry your heart out, make your eyes puff, let your nose be red. *Let yourself grieve, but also let yourself walk free.*
**3. Unfollow them on social media**
People can be gone, but the memories with them are still alive. You cannot just say *"Oh my brain, you have to delete these memories with them."* Nah, it doesn't work that way. Social Media is a very powerful invention. If you happen to see their photos or see them hanging out with new friends, it'll fuel the fire of curiosity to seek an answer and self-blame. This may urge lead you to hate that person, or you may blame yourself for a connection that has ended.
**4. Be kind**
The connection that ended in a snap is really exhausting. It consumes your energy. A lot blame themselves on this situation, but remember the quote, **"Always be kind"**, not for others, but yourself. *You deserve happiness even if you feel you don't.*
**5. Seek help from other friends | Connect, not just communicate**
There's a saying that communication is the key, but I beg to disagree. In the aspect of speaking, *communicating aims to share information, nothing more and nothing less.* While connecting also shares information, but it seeks to fully understand the speaker's message. People who communicate will listen to someone because they have to reply. While the people who want to connect engage themselves in a conversation with an intent to understand. Talk about your situation with the people you trust. Feel free to open up. Please don't let this emotion be bottled up.
**6. Learn.**
As I said in the previous blogs, ***"It is when you understand a situation that you can already open a path to a solution.*** Take your time to heal to see what went wrong and what improvements should be made on your characteristics. Learn, so you'll be ready for future relationships, be it friendships or romantically. Learning is the most important thing in growing.
**If you did all of this and still feel lost that it consumes a lot of your energy, please seek help from professionals if you have the means to do so.** 🤗
Please remember that as humans, we are vulnerable to every situation we fear. **Fear is such an important emotion.** Broken friendships are normal as you grow up. People come and go.
Even though it was fine with me that some of my friendships ended (tho most of them just happened out of nowhere without serious disagreements or conflict), **it still made me question myself on what characteristics of mine contributed to the situation**. It still made me think of why's and what if's. And of course, I still feel sad whenever I think of them and realize that they weren't in my life anymore. **It was a rollercoaster ride of emotions. It's challenging. But gladly, this contemplation passed.** 💕
**Note:** The people who are in the pictures have been my friends since Grade 7 (13 years old) 🥰 I include our photos here in the blog coz even though, I've lost a lot of friends, they're still here. We've been through ups and downs. We may not chat with each other every single day, but we're one chat away if one needs help.
We're all busy in our college life, pursuing individual's dreams, and have our own responsibilities. Hopefully, we can travel the whole world in the succeeding years!
All the photos posted here have their permissions.😊The persons who have been blurred out haven't replied to me yet, so I didn't get their permission to post their faces hehe.
List of what makes me happy
So have got a particular person who is so close to me and whenever he sees me sad would say, ***" Evelyn what is wrong with you, I guess you don't have money because that is the only thing that makes you sad"***
Many times I cringe when I hear that but after evaluating myself consciously, I realized that he is often right. I look sad and depressed when I am broke. So in order words, ***money makes me happy.***
I am always happy when I know I have some amount of money with me that I can call spare money that can be used any time and anyhow I wish to use it as long as my needs are met.
***Hanging out with friends***
My friends are dear to my heart, they are my joy givers and also they bring out that crazy side of me that few people know about me.
Having them around me or hanging out with them gives me so much happiness that I can ever imagine, they know how to make one forget their sorrow and smile because of their funny attitudes. If I am with my friends, I am always prepared to laugh till tears come out of my eyes. It's either we are giving ourselves names or we are talking about one funny person or another.
***My Alone Time***
As much as I love hanging out with my friends and family, staying alone indoors makes me happy. Most people say it isn't good but I don't know, I love my alone time than being in the crowd. That period when I get to stay inside and lock my door without disturbance.
I may not be doing anything important or maybe I might but as long as I am indoors alone, I am more than happy for that time and period because such time comes once in a while with the kinda siblings that I have who can not let someone rest in peace, I get so happy when such time comes my way and I spend that period judiciously.
I think I got that habit of mine from my dad and since I am an introvert partially, those period gives me excess joy.
***Reading Books***
Wow, I don't think I don't have anyone who doesn't know how much I love reading most especially romance, werewolves, vampires fiction stories. These books take me out of the real world into the fairy tale world where I get to do a lot of imagination with my small head and these things bring smiles to my face unconsciously.
I may not be good at reading other books which I have a lot of them but I am good at reading such books. Unlike other books, these authors have a way of making us see these things they are trying to let us understand even when there are fictional. They feel so real and feel there is a possibility of such things happening in the real world.
***Watching movies***
Well, this is another thing that makes me happy. Although I am very selective with the kinda movies I watch and I have friends who say they can't watch movies with me because I always fast forward movies and that is because if I can tell the end of a movie from the beginning, then I don't see a need wasting my time watching it to the end but notwithstanding, am a lover of movie and they keep me happy. I don't joke with that my period of watching movies.
***Spending***
I don't know if saying I am a heavy spender is right but I love spending my money although I don't go beyond my budget at least I am learning not to do so.
I love shopping for anything and everything that my eyes see catchy but most times I always regret doing that because of the realization of the trash I most times spend my money buying. They are most times the opposite of what I wanted or imagined or they are useless to me.
***Eating***
There is nothing as sweet as eating what I feel like eating without any restrain. I am not a food fan even though I eat, but there I times I see myself craving for a particular thing and the joy that comes with being able to eat that particular thing is priceless for me.
Most times these things are not even enough to satisfy my hunger, I just eat them to satisfy my mouth like sweets, drinks, ice cream, egg roll, fried rice, chicken, and any junk we can think of.
***Gifts***
I cherish gifts given to me by people, surprise gifts, or whatever. It could be anything, I wouldn't mind but not a book because your kinda book may not be my kind of book. I would make sure to make good use of them until I am sure that I have used them enough to satisfy my happiness.
**Thank you all for always finding time to read through my content, my happiness has no bounds when I see your comment, reblogs, and upvote on my articles. I pray that God bless you all for real.**
Baseline Aggregate Investing-I'm Going to Blow Your Mind!
If you want to make money investing, this is a MUST read. I'm not sure you're ready for this, but I have to write it to show you what I have come up with. So far, it is brilliant, if I do say so myself...
I told you in my post, Dollar Cost Averaging Explained how to lower your cost basis over time and how to maximize your investment. https://ecency.com/hive-150329/@bobthebuilder2/dollar-cost-averaging-explained
Keep this in mind...
I have a buddy who taught me how to always win in Vegas. He told me the odds of winning when you bet "on black" is 50%. If you bet $1 and it lands on black, you get $1 plus your original $1 back. With this in mind, the way to always win in Vegas is to come with a ton of money... Step 1) Bet $100 on black. Step 2) if you win, yay! Start with another $100 bet. If you lose, bet $200. 3) if you win, yay! you get $100 more than you started with. Start over with a new $100 bet. If you lose, bet $400. 4) if you win, yay! you get $100 more than you started with. Start over with a new $100 bet. If you lose, bet $800...and this continues. If you get to 1600, 3200, 6400, 12800, 25600, etc., eventually you'll win. You'll take home $100 when you win. If you keep losing, you just keep doubling down until you win and you'll get that $100...
Keep this in mind...
To win in the stock market, you must buy low and sell high. Easy enough.
Keep this in mind...
If you trade stock and there is no transaction fee, what I'm about to share with you should blow your mind.
Baseline Aggregate Investing:
Start off with an amount you want to invest in stocks, crypto, whatever...it should be volatile. In my opinion, the more the volatility, the better.
I started off with $50 in Dogecoin. I have a rule. When it goes up 1% or greater, I sell enough to get back to my baseline, $50. If it goes up 2%, I sell $1 worth, bringing my current holdings to $50. Then, when it goes down 1% or more, I buy enough to bring it back up to $50. If it goes down 2%, I buy $1, as an example, bringing it back up to $50. You with me?
If the ROI on my original $50 has dropped to -25%, I double my baseline. I invest another $50 (or more). The reason for this is if I really think the underlying asset is a good one, then 25% off from where I started is a great deal...by definition, it is buying low. By increasing my baseline, that also means when it goes up 1%, I sell more. When it goes down 1% or more, I buy more. With me?
I keep doing this...at some point, especially with a volatile coin/stock, it will come up and down dramatically. Here are some of my charts:
I started off with $100 in dogecoin. The price went down to $0.225 ish per coin. My profit went down, but I kept buying. Notice my breakeven price...the price at which I need to sell all of my coins to break even...is going down. As I buy more coins to maintain my $100 equity, the breakeven price goes with it...buy low...Around transaction 45, I put in another $50 when the price was about $0.23. When that happened, I increased my holdings dramatically at a lower cost, making my breakeven price drop precipitously. As transactions completed and the price went further down, I eventually put in another $100 at $0.197 per coin ish. I had a net loss of $40 at that point, where I had about $150 into the game.
You can see what happened to the price after that. It shot up to about $0.22 per coin. I had nearly regained all my loss. I had $250 in the game at this point. When the price went up to $0.26 per coin, I was sitting at around $30 in profit. The price then went back down before going up again to $0.23 per coin. Notice the dramatic swing in ROI (red) and notice the breakeven price how it kept going down as I increased my investment? Since this image was taken (about 3 days ago, I think), the price went up again and I removed $50 from the baseline making my new baseline $50. I sold the $50 around $.24 ish. Buy low, sell high...
This is the most interesting chart ^ ^ ^ ^... See how if I had just bought and held dogecoin from the beginning, I would be down approx. 17%? Instead, I was at a breakeven...When the baseline ROI (holding instead of trading to maintain the baseline) hit breakeven around transaction 140, I was up over 10%. I could have cashed out ahead overall with a 10% ROI in a month.
^ ^ ^ ^ This chart shows how I put more money into the game. When it goes down, that means I'm profiting...selling high. When it goes up, that means I'm buying low.
Because I only buy if the baseline is lowered by more than 1%, it doesn't matter when I buy or when I sell. In some cases, I had 10 transactions in one day. In some cases, I had 2. I just check the app periodically and if there's a more than 1% difference in my holdings, I bring it back to the baseline.
How does it work?
If I start with $100 and it goes up 1%, I sell $1 worth. If it goes down 1%, I have $99 worth and I buy $1 more. If it goes up 1%, I sell another $1 worth. Maybe it seems like I'm not profiting anything...however, let's look at the prices and number of coins...
If I get 400 coins at $100 and it goes up to $101, I sell $1 worth, or $101/400=0.2525 per coin. I now have to sell $1 worth which is $1/0.2525=3.96 coins. I now have 396.04 coins. When the value of my investment goes down to $99, that's 99/396.04=0.24997475 per coin. I must buy $1 worth, or 1/.24997475=4.0004 coins. I now have 400.0404 coins (I'm doing some rounding, but not much as you can see) and am $100 in the game, right where I started. If I have 400.0404 coins and it's worth $100 and it goes back up to $101 in value, I sell $1, which is 101/400.0404=0.2524745 per coin or 3.960796...coins. I now have 396.079604 coins worth $100. I am $99 into the game because I just sold $1 worth and I have $100 in coins. If it goes down again to $99 (last time, I swear lol )
I have to buy $1 worth of coins. The price is $99/396.079604=0.2499497...per coin. $1/0.2499497=4.0008 coins valued at $100. I have lost nothing and I have gained nothing...except, I have 0.0008 coins more than I started with. 400.0008/400=1.000002, or a 0.0002% increase. Here's a table that shows what happened:
|Start|1|2|3|4|
|400|396.04|400.0004|396.0796|400.0008|
|$0.2525|$0.24997475|$0.2524745|$.2499497|$0.2499995|
Do you notice the dollar cost averaging? I own more coins with $100 value. If the price goes up to $0.2525 as it was when we started, that's 400.0008*0.2525=$101.000202. Do you recognize what happened? I made money even when the price of the underlying asset never even when above the initial price...granted, we started with a 1% gain. You can do the math where you start with a drop in value then go up, then down, then up...the reality is, when you are in a volatile market, the price naturally goes up and down often...that's what volatility is!
I have run an excel spreadsheet with different volatility rates ranging from 1% to 10% and given myself different rules on when to buy or sell, whether 1% or 2%, etc. The more it fluctuates in volatility, the more trades you can make. If you're increasing the baseline every time your ROI hits at -25% or less, you've increased the odds of an increase in ROI...if you expect the underlying asset is going to go back up. I've had my charts take the price all the way down to a penny or so from $100, $25, etc...what happens? When you take a price that low and you're still maintaining a baseline...eventually, the price doubles...from $0.01 to $0.02. When that happens, whatever your baseline is, you just doubled it and you'll sell half of your holdings to bring it back down to the baseline...
I have programmed my excel sheet to plug in completely random numbers within the range of expected volatility. Of the 35 times I recalculated it (I only did 35 because my wife called me away while I was counting) 30 of the 35 times, consistently trading brought a higher return than just holding the underlying asset. 5 of the 35, holding gave a better return. I never saw a negative return where trading brought a lower negative than holding. I only saw holding creating a higher return than trading when the return for both was positive. Many times, I saw holding would create a negative return and trading brought a positive return, much like the charts above.
Those charts above are based on real transactions where I put in fiat $USD. I put my money where my mouth was for about 40 days. So far, I'm up about 10%, having sold off $50 recently from the $250 baseline to bring it down to $200. I didn't mention this...I also figured into my spreadsheet an ROI gain at which I would reduce the baseline, only if I had added to it previously...I believe the threshhold I liked the most was -25% to buy more and 10% sell to lower the baseline. This implies a buy low, sell high method...
***Did I blow your mind?*** Follow me and comment below...If this article doesn't trend, you just don't understand, and that's ok. I'll take my ball and go home LOL
Oh... one last thing...the chart starts with a baseline roi higher...I think that's because it starts at the 2nd transaction on the chart than the first...I could be wrong, but all the numbers are tied to the spreadsheet correctly...sorry if that messed anyone up...Also, I didn't have the "invest more" rule when it first started, or I would have bought a mess more on the first dip within the first couple transactions when the price dipped from $0.30 to $0.22 ish... That would have caused a massive profit from the get go...
Celebritis AND crypto
Snoop Dogg recently revealed his NFT portfolio worth millions of dollars, the most popular names you could think about are fast hopping on the NFT trend. Lil yatchy influenced the very popular Safemoon moonshot. A tough one to say but Soulja has turned into a proper cryptocurrency pump and dump specialist of the MacAfee type.
Celebrities of the most elite echelon are fearlessly pushing the cryptocurrency, decentralization and financial technology-aided human freedom. Unarguably, your recent love and respect for a couple of them steams from the fact that they helped ‘pumped’ some of your cryptocurrency holdings.
Hate or love him, Elon Musk has been the most influential figure in the crypto space in 2021. Yeah, it’s the rocket man, not even Michael Saylor and the thousands of Bitcoins he regularly buys via his investment startup – Microstrategy. NSFW projects have also attracted adult content producers into the crypto space.
As if this is the first time cryptocurrency made its way to mass awareness, the rave seems to have shot up from nowhere! Amazing, yet confusing…what could have caused this rush and how has this changed things for the larger cryptocurrency community?
Flashback to a couple years ago; bitcoin was relatively stuck in obscurity, despite performing way better than every other assets you could think of over the past decade. Only the most curious and financially knowledgeable celebrities cared about making their opinions about the shady digital asset known. Dollar was the rave, amongst celebrities and other people alike…it probably still is.
A couple of them surely moved a chunk of their funds into bitcoin and cryptocurrencies but barely cared to talk about them as much as they do currently.
NBA teams are proposing to pay part of their players’ salaries in bitcoin, many popular racing companies and F1 racers have lucrative deals with cryptocurrency startups. Our bitcoin car didn’t win that race, but still it has served its purpose. It’s not so odd to see new people join a trend, but then they barely cared about it a while ago and suddenly gets so involved, it looks weird…or amazing, rather.
Who’s your favorite celebrity in cryptocurrency? For me, it’s certainly not Soulja Boy…lol. The ‘Crank dat’ emcee hasn’t been such a healthy figure in the crypto space and represents everything which makes crypto currency investment risky. His influence is very similar to that of many other celebrities who ventured into the space during the cryptocurrency bull run of the first quarter.
Anyone who really cared would wonder what these popular guys have contributed to the real growth of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
Pump and dump specialists? Remember when meme tokens nearly took over Binance smart chain? The safe, moon, baby, shiba and inu tokens. As funny as they sound and function, many of them were being advertised by elite celebrities; Snoop Dogg, The Game, members of the Faze clan, to mention very few. Thanks to the large audience they gained via their music success and otherwise, these tokens gained enormous popularity accompanied by face-melting price moves. Thanks to Automated Market Protocols, every buy or sale has tangible influence on price.
Price easily went haywire, 10X gains were as common as ever, 100X gains and even higher could come withing a week. The peak of these gains was usually followed by rug pulls and team selling majority of their holdings, leaving holders to nurse their irrecoverable losses as trading volumes shrink out while the project goes into obscurity. Unto the next one! “what’s the next 100X?” cryptocurrency’s reputation was left to bleed, volatility and betrayal were demonstrated in their worst manners. These influencers already cashed out before the storm, depending on whether they were paid upfront or in the tokens.
Money grabs? For most of these celebrities, cryptocurrency is simply an avenue to boost their net worth or get out of their bad financial situations. NFTs, Defi, meme and passive reward coins; the boom of each of these presents an avenue for celebrities to jump in and make some dollars. Celebrities would mint NFTs only sell them for Dollars and USDT, lol.
Funny how the rest of the crypto space boarded their ship and paid ridiculous fees for these NFTs. Well, thousands bought meme coins simply because a celebrity said inaudible words and mentioned the coin at the end, lol. Well, the gains were good, for these popular guys and they get to keep their reputation intact and gain more followers.
Politically influenced moves? Actually; I have been mentioning rapstars and popstars, that’s partial! Elite politicians have also joined the movement, either against or in support. Most of these moves are politically motivated as some these politicians in fact have no interest in cryptocurrency while a good number of them actually hate it but put their weight behind it to earn voters’ attention and support.
Politicians with real interest in cryptocurrency have stayed outspoken way before the boom, most of them against it however…but they are genuine, at least.
Well; as long as global awareness goes, these celebrities haven’t such a bad influence in the space. To be fair, a good number have pushed cryptocurrency closer to global adoption…very few of them anyways. Regardless of how they did it, more people got to know about cryptocurrency via their popular shills and toxic support for certain projects.
In the real sense, long term supporters have continued to have the most important contributions to the positive growth of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology while the new ‘converts’ continue to find their way in the space.
**Should We Expect Another Shiba Inu Crash?**
In recent weeks, Shiba Inu the supposed Doge killer experienced a sudden rise in value due to many factors but this doesn't seem to be stretching any longer from the look of things. This meme token which was created to be the Doge killer might just have killed itself with the sudden pump and dump it is experiencing. And while others might call it pointless or worthless due to the large amount in circulation there are 3 major reasons why Shiba Inu enjoyed the sudden rise that caught our attention.
First were the talks about a mysterious whale buying huge amounts of Shiba Inu. It is obvious that actions like this can increase the rarity of an item thereby pushing onlookers into a buying frenzy. For instance, most people would have thought perhaps this Doge killer was about to get the huge break it promised everyone and so the FOMO syndrome swallowed many. And while some managed to ride the pump and made a sensible amount of money, others found themselves buried too deep under the dip.
Another key player in the huge pump was Coinbase. This meme based coin that was once forgotten got extra credit when Coinbase added it to its list there by allowing users trade Shiba Inu on its website and app. These caused a 35% rise according to the Mint but it still could not surpass the 0.00004700 value it had once reached months ago. These pump pushed major investors to sell off in a bid to make as much profit which caused a deeper heartbreaking dip for the Doge killer.
Next came our old friend Elon Musk. It is not new that this man has considerable influence on the market and he has from time to time made use of this influence subtly. First came Doge Coin and the favoritism it enjoyed at the beginning of the year and now Shiba Inu. Although some critics might argue that Elon didn't play a direct role, his tweet of a picture of his dog a Shiba Inu breed called Floki started another huge frenzy. Not long did the hashtag #SHIB begin to trend which played on people's FOMO syndrome and pushed them into a buying frenzy. https://ecency.com/trending/shib
Currently trading above 0.00002, many are hoping that Shiba Inu might kill yet another zero soon but is this possibility possible or just a wish in the heart of many holders since this token is literally treated like a pump and dumb asset. These meme token although created by another anonymous creator in August 2020 might just have a long way to go if it is ever going to become the Doge killer. And although it increased over 113.2% in the past week and is still sitting pretty on the binance hot list with Doge and other altcoins it would be safe to say holders should expect just anything.
As at October 13, Shiba Inu seems to be fighting to stay on top but it is intriguing to watch and see just how far it might pump again or perhaps reach a new ATH/ATL. It is important that investors try not to be greedy but invest an amount that won't hurt them or their egos should the market come crashing again.
Beautiful Wednesday - Great Cityscape and Urban Exploration at Konstytutsii Square
Foggy morning, a glimpse of sun rays, and vibrant colors of trees from my window, these all define my Indiana Summer Morning. The atmosphere is crisp, chilly, and forces me to sneeze around but on the other hand, it's hard to stop my soul from going out. After all, beautiful nature is waiting outside for me. It would be unjustified if I don't admire such beauty every day.
Current work schedule is tight, moreover, due to cold weather, my energy level decreased than before. I barely can move my body, which I used to do last winter and my body is slowly adapting to this weather fluctuation. I can clearly feel the arrival of winter and try myself to keep safe so that I don't get sick. Time management is very important which I often fail to manage, I don't know how or why but I often messed up the schedule when I feel pressure. Instead of prioritizing and finishing everything one by one, I try to finish all at once which causes anxiety and stress. Anyway, for now, everything is going smoothly.
Yesterday I had to go to Rymarskaya street for some paperwork. Also, I had an appointment for an important meeting which I needed to finish on time. Time is very precious and sometimes hard to maintain as per schedule. I always have to go to this location for any of my document work, this street is known for office work, immigration and translation, and notaries. So, for any kind of paperwork, I have to go to Rymarskaya first.
After finishing one meeting, I had a few hours in my hand before another meeting. I have spent my whole day within this territory mostly. Let me tell you one specific thing, Rymarskaya street is a very popular administrative street after Konstitution Square. Most of the business and office buildings are located here even some government territorial offices are situated here as well. Rymarskaya street is very close to Sumuskaya street and Konstitutskii Square. So, one can finish all of his paper works here if they are lucky. Konstitutskii Square is more popular for trade centers, business offices, and for Mayor's office.
The architecture is rich here, especially old soviet buildings and neo-classical buildings that will help you to understand and explore the history of Kharkiv. Many buildings were damaged and demolished during the war and later reconstruction happened. It always feels good to explore the long street from Rymaskaya to Konstitutsii. The appearance, exterior facades of the buildings leaves remarkable experiences on an individual's mind.
This is the biggest Thermometer of Kharkiv city that shows the temperature of every day. This prominent building and concept clearly attract a tourist and welcome people to explore the Second largest City of Ukraine.
The touches of warm, colorful fall are everywhere now, especially in front of restaurants or retail shops. The entrances are decorated in a lovely way and very inviting.
Obviously, I had to take some pictures of beautiful golden straws, pumpkins, and colorful Chrysanthemums. Only during autumn, you will see such wonderful decorations, rest of the year, you won't notice such things.
After leaving Rymarskaya street, I have reached the starting point of large Sumuskaya Street. My destination was Konstitutskii Square as there was nothing to do at Rymaskaya street. I was thinking to spend some time at Konstitutskii Square and after that, I will return and attend the meeting.
This is one of the crowdest points in Kharkiv, people go to different parts of the city from here. I barely could see any friendly people here, I mean one can easily understand the busy and corporate life by seeing the facial expression and atmosphere of the spot.
Buildings are worthy to see, at least they deserve a glimpse of appreciation after all they are holding the pride of Kharkiv. The unique appearance and decorative facade of each building are surely eye-catching during daylight.
While walking on the street, I have discovered such details of the building. Remarkable masonry stone work and details of the columns and shafts can easily catch the eyes of a passerby or a tourist. Carving's work is so detailed and carries the significance of the building. Some buildings are 60-70 years old
Walking on such streets is relaxing, I just can only imagine and explore the historical perspective. It's a pleasant feeling, only those will understand whoever gets a chance to walk on such streets. The experience of exploring culture, attractive architecture is something that hardly you will get in life.
Here few more perspective pictures of the building which I have found attractive and worthy to share. I am sure many will find similarities with your own city. Most of these buildings are administrative office buildings. People don't live here.
Finally, after 30 minutes of walking from Rymarskaya Street, I reached my destiny **Nikolsky**. I went to the 3rd floor for lunch. There is a beautiful restaurant with a balcony from where you can see the beauty of Konstitutskii Square. I have heard that their latte is really good and also wanted to spend some time there for gathering new experiences.
And here are some city view photographs that I have taken from the 3rd floor balcony. From here, alekxander bell tower and other beautiful building can be seen of konstitutskii square. This is one of the prominent node point of the city.
3 hours passed just like that and after finishing lunch we head back to our meeting. I noticed how beautiful sunny weather turned into a dark cloudy evening, yes, daytime is short here and darkness come here early.
Really enjoyed my hectic day after all I have explored many things all at once and made my day a productive beautiful Wednesday...
Chaos Legion: The Voice
The air of the jungle was sticky and hot against Doctor Alastair Lexington’s skin as he trekked through the growth. A tangle of branches allowed the sunlight to spill in and pool on the ground. Occasionally through a break in the trees he could see the peaks of the mountains. But those were still far ahead of him. And he still had plenty to explore.
Shouldering his pack and bringing out his notebook, Alastair bent down to examine a bloom of flowers. The orange petals were bright against the dark soil and twisting roots of the tree. His pen scratched the leather pages as he copied a likeness of the plant and what he could observe about it.
“Brilliant!” he exclaimed, snapping the notebook closed. “You are full of wonders now, aren’t you, Praetoria?”
Foliage slapped against his brown boots as the doctor continued through the jungle. At the thought of new discoveries, he felt the rush of excitement coursing through him. All his years of study at the university had led up to this. He could still remember preparing for his presentation for days, trying to convince the directors that his research was worthy of being funded. He should be the first university representative to be sent to Praetoria. This newly unveiled continent held much to explore and to understand, especially for the intellectual botanist that Doctor Alastair was. He had already completed a full notebook of written observations before turning to a second.
From a young age, Alastair had loved plants. He spent most of his formative years outside, studying them in the wild—or inside a lab performing experiments. He was talented, but he was young, a fact which resulted in his accomplishments being overlooked by the university’s directors. He had fought hard for each opportunity, and he was fortunate enough to be selected over much older researchers for this once-in-a-lifetime expedition.
“If only they could see me now!” he grinned to himself triumphantly.
The doctor had arrived by ship with a small expedition team to a small village that was referred to simply as Blue Harbor. The tropical sun was already unkind on his pale skin, but he still fell in love with the sweeping vistas. He found himself surrounded by pristine coastlines, a wealth of fish, and mountains that reached toward the sun. They were much larger than anything he’d ever encountered before.
Alastair had wandered away from the small expedition party, most of whom were conducting basic research at Blue Harbor. He trekked further into the jungle, marveling at the exotic diversity of the plant life. He had not intended to go this far on his own, but with each new discovery, he was further intrigued. He had left at sunrise, and the evening hours were already closing in. He knew it was past time for him to turn back. The expedition had very specific safety rules, all of which he had ignored on his impromptu journey into the wilds of Praetoria.
But there was something about that mountain.
He could see in the distance, one peak rising higher than all the rest. Its jagged top made him think it was a volcano, but he would need to get closer to verify. The imposing landmark had caught his attention most of all. He was unsure why, but something about it seemed to call to him. It promised a discovery beyond his greatest imaginations.
As another hour passed, Alastair settled down on a mossy boulder to enjoy a quick meal. As he cleared off a space to set his cheese and meats, he noticed a strange carving on a nearby boulder.
“Well, hello there…” he murmured. “What are you?”
Pushing his dark hair back from his eyes, Alastair leaned closer to examine the markings. It was strange. Similar in shape to an hourglass but with extra lines crossing through it, a small circle in the center.
His meal forgotten, he quickly pulled out his notebook and sketched out the shape, muttering to himself in fascination. Who could have carved such a thing this deep into the jungle? Was it a clue to the origins of the magic energy that this land seemed to literally hum with? What did it signify?
***Come...***
The doctor jumped from the boulder, spilling his notebook, food, and pack on the ground. The voice, so sudden, sent a bolt of fear through him.
“H-hello?” Alastair spun around, searching through the trees for the source of the voice.
***Come...***
“Come where? Who are you?”
The jungle that once felt so mystical and intriguing now felt quite haunting. The shadows were too dark. The trees were too close. There wasn’t enough air. How long had he been gone? Oddly enough, he could not remember.
“My name is Doctor Lexington,” Alastair stated, trying to sound as firm as possible. “I am a botanist on a research expedition for Quillton Field University. Whoever you are, I mean no harm. I am only here to understand.”
The sourceless voice chuckled. It was dark and deep. He could not tell from which direction it came, and it unnerved him. Alastair did not consider himself a strong fighter. He was tall but slender. His muscles were wiry rather than bulky. He was good at long hikes due to his stamina—but not at fighting big monsters! He reached for the only weapon available to him: a simple walking stick.
***Do not be troubled. You may call me Silas, and there are things I’d like to show you.***
“Show me?” Alastair stammered out, still desperately searching the shadows for this mysterious Silas person. “Are you from this region?”
Another dark laugh followed. ***I am interested in this land, the same as you. I, too, wish to explore it. Perhaps we can work together? Be my eyes. Be my voice. Be my Will, and in return, I will grant you power unimaginable.***
“P-power? What kind of power?” Alastair’s instincts told him to run back to Blue Harbor. That he was not safe. And yet...there was something about this voice that was comforting. It soothed him, called to him, slowed his pounding heart. He was a scientist, after all. He knew better to assume malevolence in any type of discovery. This Silas was just another discovery, another mystery to study and unlock, in the magical land of Praetoria.
***I can make anything you desire come true. I can give you power to defeat those that would stand in your way. Power to become everything you ever dreamed.***
The Doctor considered. A secret advantage against his fellow scholars would be nice...
“What can you tell me about this continent?” Alastair asked. “What do you know?”
***There is deep magic here. The ley lines thrive with overflowing energy. Do you know how to harness it?***
Alastair scoffed. “I am no mage. I am a scientist. That kind of power is not something for which I am capable.”
***Would you like to be? I can teach you. I can show you. There are places on this land about to burst at the seams with magic.***
Alastair blinked in surprise. “Truly? I would very much like to see these places.”
Silas chuckled. ***Then I will guide you.***
Doctor Alastair Lexington packed up his belongings and followed Silas’ guidance. He walked up steep slopes and clamored down dangerous ravines. His inhibitions seemed forgotten, and he moved with confidence. He had come to Praetoria only to discover new plants, but what this Silas promised seemed like the discovery of a lifetime. He would go down in history! A new university would be named after him!
The sunlight died as the doctor continued into the mountains. Silas was right. He felt like he could feel energy vibrating out of the very ground. It did not take him long to realize that he was being led to the very heart of Praetoria…the volcano. He was sure now that it was indeed a volcano. How did he know that? Not important. He just KNEW.
Alastair had no idea how much time had passed. Days? Weeks? Months? Not important. He felt free, no longer shackled to the rules and expectations of society.
Eventually, he exited the thick of the jungle. It was night. A cold wind blew at his sweaty hair and clothes. His dark eyes were wide as he blinked up in wonder at the sight.
He was near the top of the volcano now. How did he get here? Not important. Its slopes were steep, and it towered above the mountains around it. Praetoria spread out in all directions, as far as he could see. A land steeped in shadow, rolling out to the horizon. Up above was a collection of stars so magnificent that Alastair felt he had stumbled upon a vein of diamonds. Having spent his entire life in the city, he had never seen this many stars in the sky before.
His gaze moved to the volcano. Its crater was an abyssal hole that yawned before him like a giant maw. He could barely make out the slightest red glow emanating from within.
***Get closer***, Silas encouraged. ***Within this volcano is an extreme source of magical energy. Even someone as untrained as you will be able to feel it.***
The doctor moved cautiously, relying on his walking stick as he traversed the rest of the steep slope to the crater. Edging his way closer and closer, he peered inside.
Hot air blew his hair back from his face as he saw a nearby piece of rock shake loose and plummet into the depths below. The drop was nearly enough to make him feel faint, but this new, strange vigor that had come over him kept him rooted to the spot. Magma bubbled and churned far below, lighting up the rocky interior of the volcano. He could also see a glimmer of something else. Arcane rune work? He was no specialist in that area, so he could not be certain.
***Yes!*** Silas crooned. ***The barriers. I see them! You have done well to come this far, Doctor.***
As Alastair teetered at the edge, almost mesmerized by the sight, he could feel something. A wild, chaotic energy. Like lightning sizzling the air before it strikes. It hummed around him and then through him. The sensation was frightening, and he took a step back.
***No!*** Silas snapped. ***Now is not the time for cowardice. This is one of the ley lines. A powerful one. Embrace it. The power is yours for the taking.***
Alastair swallowed against his tight throat. His eyes scanned the area. He did not know what he was looking for until he saw it. A stone near the mouth of the volcano. Something glowed atop it. His legs moved as if on their own, carrying him around the edge and to this stone. He knelt down and brushed the dirt and grass away to get a better look.
It was another rune-like he’d seen before. In the shape of an hourglass, but with a circle drawn in the center and two lines slashing through it. This one glowed a soft orange. And he could feel magic pulsing from it like a heartbeat.
***Touch it***, Silas encouraged. ***It’s yours for the taking.***
Alastair slowly reached his hand forward, shaking.
***It’s ours for the taking.***
His fingers brushed it, and it felt like a small spark of electricity.
***It’s MINE for the taking!***
He slammed his hand down on the rune and felt energy like lightning shoot through his body. He was thrown backward and landed heavily. He cried out as his body writhed on the ground, energy spasming through him. A dark laughter echoed within his skull.
And then blackness.
When Alastair woke, he had no idea how much time had passed. It was still dark overhead. Was it the same night? With a groan, he sat up, taking in his situation. He was still near the mouth of the volcano. The trees shifted in the wind behind him, and the wind was cold.
He brought up a hand to rub his face and stopped short. His skin was...marked. Green lines of energy spiraled his hand like veins. Or were his veins...glowing?
He gasped and fumbled through his pack, pulling out a small mirror. It was with shaky hands that he held it up to behold his own reflection.
The same glowing green was spiderwebbed across his own face, and this time, he was certain it was his veins. His very blood had been altered. His eyes, normally so brown they were black, were now a poisonous green hue.
Alastair screamed.
He had to get back. He had to get back to Blue Harbor. He needed help.
He was not even aware that he left his pack behind as he tore into the jungle in a panic. Leaves slapped at him, and thorns tore at his pants. With only his walking stick to keep himself from falling, he ran away from the jagged slopes of the volcano. The sun rose, but he did not stop. He did not feel hunger. He did not feel exhausted. The world was a blur around him. His thoughts were jumbled. Each nerve in his body sizzled and sparked from the magic now inside him.
He ran and cried and laughed. He did not sleep. He did not eat. On occasion, he would howl. At other times, he would slash at his flesh and growl...or giggle? But for the most part, he ran.
Finally, his wild eyes could see lights through the trees. A village. Was it Blue Harbor or another settlement? He could not tell. His normally sharp perception seemed to be muddled and confused. But the shadows of the buildings against the night sky was enough for him.
He paused at the edge of the trees. He glanced down at his hands. He looked frightening. Would they run in fear from him? He was practically glowing, illuminating the space around him in an eerie green. Sometimes he would catch the spectral form of dark purplish tendrils slithering outward from his body from the corner of his eye.
As Alastair glanced about the jungle, he looked directly behind him and saw a disturbing sight. The path he had taken, once full of vibrant green plants, was now sick and dying. Dying at a rate that defied science.
Shivering at the implications, he noticed a closed shop near the outskirts of the village. Some cloaks were hung in the windows. Perhaps he could find what he needed in there to hide himself.
He picked his way carefully through the plants, trying not to be noticed. There was a lingering scent of roasted meat in the air from a firepit that was now embers. He heard soft conversations and laughter. The shadows of people as they came and went from buildings. A few notes strung on a sitar. He barely paid attention to any of it as he got to the back of the shop. The door was locked, but some inhuman strength had taken hold of him. He forced it open, snapping the lock, and stumbled inside the dark interior, shutting the door behind him.
Shaking and barely in control of his own body, the doctor hurriedly rummaged for something to hide his glowing, green veins. From his studies in botany, he knew what this particular shade of green often signified. A sickness or poison. A danger. A blight.
He grabbed a long, black coat and gloves. Shedding his torn and dirty clothes, he put on this new outfit. He glanced around the hats, but none of them would properly cover his face. Then he saw it. In the corner, there was an assortment of masks hanging from the wall. Most were decorative rather than useful, however one in particular caught his glowing eyes. Shaped like the beak of a giant raven, the mask appeared to be something he had read about at the university, a medical head piece intended to protect the wearer from disease. Of course, all he cared about was that it hid his exceedingly disturbing appearance.
As he tightened the leather straps of the mask, he thought it was a bit ironic. Ravens were symbols of death, after all, and the trail he had left in the forest was certainly that.
Gathering himself and his failing sanity, Alastair turned to exit the shop when his legs gave out. He collapsed as a burst of the magic bolted through him. It seeped into the floorboards around him, rotting the wood.
***Don’t be afraid***, Silas’ voice purred. ***You have become something beautiful.***
Alastair twisted around, trying to hold into his mind. But everything was tangled. The world around him no longer felt real. What DID feel real was the magic inside of him. And The Voice.
With a strangled cry, the doctor’s sanity broke. He lay limp for a moment, breathing hard.
***My dear Doctor***, Silas chuckled. ***You will be my instrument on Praetoria. You will be my herald, an agent of destruction not seen for millennia. You will walk this land and sow a Blight that none can withstand.***
The Doctor slowly stood up. He straightened his shoulders and walked out of the shop. The village was quiet and sleepy around him, but not for long. He felt his cheeks pull back into a deathly grin that none could see.
Arms raised and body arched backward in unbridled ecstasy, Doctor Blight embraced his Purpose.
There was much to do.
New to Silver League, Only 4 days to go!!!
Last week I pushed myself up to Silver Rating with just a few DEC in rentals, now I am fighting to turn a profit and collect some sweet season reward chests. We are down to the last few days of the league and trying to get cards locked up at a reasonable price is a challenge to say the least. I have spent the better part of an hour today trying to find cards to rent at or above 100CP/DEC. Since I have only played 1 league before this, my card pool is kind of weak other than the blue team I have slowly been building up. Now that I am in silver, a single team is not the best way to move forward so I have to relearn every splinter and try to make just about anything work at a moments notice. The renting strategy I used was just try to rent the best CP/DEC ratio cards I could and fill up every splinter the best I could with my free starter cards and the batch of rentals, then picked up a few 2 mana summoners, and a Brighton Bloom for those earthquake games. Another good summoner to rent would be Mylor Crowling, it was only about 15 DEC a day last time I rented one. Sadly I was out of town for the weekend so that's a few more reward cards out the window.
10-7
The last update I posted was just a couple hours before my daily rest and I was sitting with 1008 Rating and just enough power to be in bronze 1, so I started renting cards and got up to Silver 3 with 47 DEC left. (Only cost 30.1 DEC from Bronze1 to Silver 3)
The Cards I rented including cards from my last post for the death quest.
The next Quest I got was a Water Quest, how perfect for me! It only took a few games, I think there was 1 loss in there. The rewards were a couple Venari Cards, one Heatsmith and a rare Venari Seedsmith. At the end of the quest I was already up to 1185 Rating and 111 DEC.
I figured since I would be gone for a few days I would push my capture rate down and see how much DEC I could get. Well, this is where I learned that only having 1 useable deck was not such a good thing; there were streaks of wins followed by a couple losses since the rules can break a deck. I ended up making another 35 DEC leaving at about 60% capture rate, and with another choice for another day with 1300 rating on the edge of Silver 2.
10-10
When I got back from our weekend trip and was able to get back in front of a computer, it was time to throw down some more DEC to farm up those daily reward cards. That quest was a Death Quest again, I got wrecked again and lost 160 rating points and 7 DEC from rentals but got it done.
Luckily the quest put me just in the profit for the day and the card was icing on the cake:
10-11
Today was EXPENSIVE, rent went up, Guild Dues to be paid, and I wanted a Gargoya Devil and found one for $.05 under any others listed. By the time I started playing I was down to 17 DEC in the bank, and due to my failures yesterday afternoon with the death quest, I only had 86% capture to start with. But hey, at lest I'm 3/4 of the way done renting cards for the rest of the season if they don't get canceled. I always thought that the No Neutrals Quest would be more difficult, but I went 3 for 3 with water for the easy win.
I was so happy with today's rewards that I clicked too many times and missed the screen shot, but it was another Gargoya Lion, and finally I got myself my first BCX of Naga Assassin.
Now it's time to play the waiting game and get my capture rate back up to play some more games for the DEC rewards, fill out payments for 18 more cards for the rest of the season, and get those season reward chests. Only time will tell what the future holds with the massive change to Bronze league rewards and how it has effected almost every aspect of Splinterlands.
Update while waiting to post:
Today I learned that renting cards is yet another RC sink so post before updating rentals to extend through the season. The more you know lol, so this post will be put up in the morning I guess
THE PERFECT PAUSE - Chapter Five - Perception (Focus on the Positive)
**Chapter Intro**
The feeling that we don’t have control of our own lives is the ultimate frustration. Even when it feels like nothing is going right you are still the master of one thing, your attitude.
`Chapter three` was all about synchronicity. This chapter is about a topic that’s very closely related to synchronicity…*perception*.
Perception is the lens or filter in which you see the world. Our perception is as unique as our fingerprints. No two people will see the same thing in the exact same way. This accounts for much of the conflict that goes on in our world.
Since this universe tends to deliver to you more of whatever you hold in your consciousness, the quality of your mood and the way you perceive the world is super important.
At the end of this chapter is a very powerful meditation that can magically transform bad days into good ones.
Read on...
Chapter Five
*Perception/Focus on the Positive*
Have you ever had a day or even a few hours where everything felt as though it flowed perfectly and the things you do seem effortless? This feels spectacular, doesn’t it?
During days like this, your productivity is amazing and your energy level seems almost infinite. Even if challenges arise, we can stay level-headed and find a quick solution to whatever problem is trying to plague us. When we are in this positive frame of mind we feel a sense of hope, our mood is upbeat, and the world seems like a beautiful place.
On the other side of the spectrum, we’ve all had those days where we’ve felt clumsy, out of sync with everyone and everything around us, like nothing is going our way. Despite our best efforts, we can’t get anything done, can’t focus, and feel tired and depleted. When we’re in this state of mind we’re often moody, and suspicious of other people’s intentions. The world seems like a dark and dangerous place.
“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” ~ Albert Einstein
What is the difference between these two kinds of days?
It all comes down to your frame of mind and how your mood filters the events that are unfolding in your life in real time. Often when our day starts out bad our frame of mind devolves into a negative state and this sets off a chain reaction that creates those horrendous “days from hell” that we’ve all experienced.
What if I told you that—today and every day—you have a huge degree of control over what kind of day you have?
The truth is, you do have considerable control and that is directly related to whether you choose an optimistic or pessimistic state of being. It might sound overly simplistic but you can choose to be miserable or you can choose to be happy. You are not a victim of circumstance, the quality of your life is determined to a large degree by your perception of it.
“You are not a victim of circumstance, the quality of your life is determined to a large degree by your perception of it.”
Allow me to explain. In our physical universe, like attracts like. The more you meditate, the more you will notice this. If you walk around with a general feeling of dread and hopelessness, you will attract a flood of negativity into your life. If your mood is upbeat and positive, these are the life experiences you will attract. Again, like attracts like.
As you begin to regularly meditate you will naturally become more positive as you increase your mindfulness and by doing so you will attract an abundance of positive experiences into your life. Don’t take my word for it: once you begin your regular meditation practice, you will see for yourself.
Change
Imagine a terrible thunderstorm with driving rain, lightning and terrible winds. It is the trees that are flexible and bend in the wind that have the best chances of survival. The trees that stand rigid are usually damaged or destroyed. The same holds true for life. We must learn to keep a somewhat open mind and not always fight change. Change is scary for almost everyone but it is sometimes necessary to improve our circumstances.
In this life, change is the only constant. Change, on some level, happens all around us in every moment of every day. In this rapidly evolving world, those who are the most successful in life are those who manage change well. Our ability to deal positively with change greatly affects the quality of our lives.
Your Soul’s Guidepost
Your level of happiness and fulfillment are our soul’s guidepost. During your meditation practice, as in life, your level of happiness and fulfillment are our indicators that tell us if we’re moving forward or slipping backwards.
If you are pessimistic and unhappy most of the time, your soul is merely trying to tell you that there is something in your internal or external life that isn’t right and needs to change. Fortunately, you are the person who is best suited for the job of deciphering what this is and creating a positive shift in your life.
So if you find yourself in a pessimistic funk ask yourself, “Why am I feeling this way?”
“Happiness doesn’t come from having the best of everything but making the best of everything.” ~ Gail Lynne Goodwin
A regular routine of meditation gives you the tools necessary to make clear-headed decisions and deal positively with change. Not unlike a lot of things in life, if you keep up your practice you will see real, tangible results.
Keep in mind that meditation isn’t always easy, but is a very honest practice. You receive out of it exactly what you put into it. Don’t expect miracles right away but one thing is for sure; with continued and dedicated practice, tangible gifts will begin to materialize in your life.
Regaining Control
How many of us have found ourselves in situations that feel like they’re careening out of control?
Our thoughts can easily send us into a downward spiral of negative emotions like rage, jealousy, or fear. In this physical world, we don’t always have control over the things that happen to us but we can have control over how our brain processes the events and our reactions to these external influences. Most of us have been conditioned to react subconsciously to certain situations that arise in our environment. We don’t take the time to think or to analyze.
"Man is free at the moment he wishes to be." ~ Voltaire
These automatic emotional reactions can easily spin out of control and result in embarrassment or damaged relationships. How would you like to not only take steps to better your external circumstances but also have the freedom to react to those inevitable, unpleasant external conditions with clear headed confidence and poise? Among the countless benefits of regular meditation is the freedom from those seemingly uncontrollable emotional reactions of anger, jealousy and fear that we usually end up regretting.
A common trait of those who regularly meditate is their ability to control the most important instrument in the world, their own minds. Just as a virtuoso perfects the playing of an instrument, a person who meditates learns to be the master of the most powerful instrument imaginable, their own mind.
What could you accomplish in this world if you controlled your thoughts instead of your thoughts controlling you?
Putting It Into Practice
Over the next twenty-four hours try to be as conscious as possible of your state of mind. Are you generally feeling more pessimistic or optimistic?
Be conscious of things that spark negative moods in you like anger, frustration, and fear. When these situations arise, instead of losing your temper or allowing yourself to spiral into a bout of anxiety or a bad mood try something different.
Ask yourself, “What is this trying to teach me?” Many times the answer is just one thing, patience. If someone cuts you off in traffic or is rude to you for no apparent reason, try to remember that it’s not a personal assault against you, more than likely this person is just having a bad day. You can choose to honk your horn or give them the finger and perpetuate the cycle of negativity or just choose to ignore it and go about with your day.
Pause, take a deep breath and allow yourself a few seconds before automatically reacting to these types of situations. If you’re consistent in doing this you’ll not only regain control of your emotional stability but you’ll begin to notice that outside events will have less of an emotional impact on you.
A Powerful Meditation to Shift to a Positive State of Consciousness
This meditation exercise is a very simple and effective tool that has the power to magically transform bad days into good ones. It’s also simple enough to remember and use whenever you need it.
The next time you feel like your day is diving into a downward spiral all you have to do is break the negative cycle. Use the following meditation exercise to shift yourself to a more positive state of consciousness. Here it goes.
Find a secluded spot where you can have some privacy -- an empty room where you can close the door, your car, or even a bathroom stall. Now sit and close your eyes.
Bring your attention to your breath. Shut out the entire outside world and focus on nothing but your breath.
With eyes closed, smile and imagine the warm, golden sunlight on your face.
Breathe slowly and deeply for a repetition of three inhalations and exhalations.
While continuing to smile and imagining the sun on your face *inhale* for a count of 5, *hold* the breath for a count of 5, *exhale* for a count of 7.
Repeat step 4 until you feel your mood and consciousness begin to shift to a more positive state.
Unreal Engine 4 | Free For The Month of September
As a game developer, it’s always nice to keep an eye out for free goodies. Many of us are after all digital hoarders as we never knew when if ever we could use something for a project we are working on. Every month Unreal Engine (UE) has “free for the month” assets to be used with UE projects. While it’s been my intention to try and cover it more often I’ve missed a few.
This month includes $139.95 worth of goodies for game developers to use and see what different asset and software development communities have to offer the unreal community. There are 2 different kinds of homes, a spline wall system, close combat animations, and a level design tool kit. It seems like some cool stuff could be made from just this month’s September collection.
For checking out these assets I will be using UE4 version 4.26.2
Level Design Tool Kit By Liam Heron
It seems like this level design tool was created to solve a lot of pain points developers have when working within UE4 itself for world-building. It does require a little work on your part to get it up and running. It requires you to enable a plugin for your project and was a lot more involved than what I was looking to quickly into for a post of this format.
One of the biggest features is being able to mass select a bunch of items all at once in a simple matter. Those who have suffered from how annoying it is to try and select a bunch of stuff in a set just to move it an inch one way or another can appreciate something like that.
Unlike a lot of things, you can find in the store that tends to lack much information at all on how to use them. Level Design Tool Kit has a decent-sized demo zone set up with a lot of tutorials on how everything works off-site.
The bulk of what they are offering is in the terms of blueprints set up to make your life easier. They have a lot of different things that help with alignment, mass selection, scaling, moving, and so on. Even a tool to help find those pesky floating unwanted meshes that can break any game's immersion if you don’t remove them.
I have not used anything like this before and if I was still in the zone building of my main project I would have given it a go. Since it looks quite involved it’s more than likely something I’m not going to use as I’ve gotten used to the weird quarks UE4 has in its base-level design features.
Close Combat Animset By Ibrahim Akinde
If you are looking for a bunch of close combat animations that are rigged for the epic skeleton this is going to be a must-have. It includes 46 animations that are set up for a wide range of different games and should fit the majority of situations for that style of combat.
It has a lot of the basic movements you would need in a game such as walking, jumping, and running. Which are quite abounded to find in UE4 with Epic even including quite a few that are similar for free in their offering and demos.
The real star in this pack is going to be the evading, blocking, and attacking animations they are offering. It looks like there are 13 attacks animations. You have things like hooks, jabs, and different styles of kicks.
It even looks like the developer is working on adding further value and updates to the pack for free as well. While there are a lot of animation sets out there in the wild to find. Many places stopped supporting the Epic skeleton standard for UE4 for whatever reason. So packs like these can save you a lot of time in having to retarget bones with it already being set up for UE4.
Procedural Spline walls System By Kart Muller
This is another one that keeping up with most of this month’s theme of zone building. I don’t have a lot of experience with the UE4 spline system or using them in a game development setting other than knowing many use it for making rivers. Being able to quickly set up procedural walls can be a great way to work on massive zones and a tool like this could have been helpful in my project back at the start.
It’s great they showcase quite a few different materials in their demo map for the pack. Even without having much experience in using splines. It was quite an initiative to just click on the little white box at the end of the material and drag it out in any way I wanted to use it. This quick little mock-up only took me seconds. I am somewhat jealous I did not have this when I was making zones in my own game it would have saved me a fair amount of time.
It is quite easy to use right out of the box. The developer also has an over 40 min video explaining a lot of the ins and outs of using this system. Other videos following up on it including how to use the system for Quixel Megascans which is great to see as every UE4 developer already has access to high-resolution scans from Quixel that they then could integrate into this system.
This is one of those packs I will be spending some further time investigating into the advanced features of. As I might have a use case for it next year in a project. This is always exciting to find something you will personally use when it comes to these monthly free deals.
Old Brick House Media
While there have been a couple of house packs in the past in the free for the month deals. They usually only came with a couple of home furnishings if any. This thing is loaded with over 250 props and over 400 meshes. Making this quite a useful pack if you ever just needed some random item and the vintage look these items are modeled after is something you want.
Steeping into the demonstration map the developer has set up makes you feel like you are walking into your grandmother’s house or something akin to it. My mind is already racing with quite a few different games all of these props would be fun to use.
Alchemist’s House By Evgeniya Yaremko
While not to be outdone by the other house this month the alchemist house comes with 100 different items. This includes modular pieces to build out your own house. Along with a bunch of prop items to populate it with.
The demo set they have setup illustrates quite a fun medieval-like atmosphere you could build around the props. With quite a few of the smaller items that could fit in with all sorts of different situations. This out of all of this month’s packs has to be my favorites.
Final Thoughts
The September Free For The month section in the UE4 store turned out to be some decent offerings for those needing world-building items. I could see quite a few different types of games having needs for what was included from horror to medieval and quite a few things in-between.
As always when it comes to this offering in the UE4 store. These packs are free to use in Unreal Engine projects. Even after the month is over as long as you have claimed it during the offering. There I still have a couple of weeks left to get them.
What is happening in the crypto markets?
When the crypto markets are mostly down, and where in the best of cases what everyone wants is for everything to stabilize in some way to know what to do; the question is precisely that: what to do?
But before knowing what to do, you have to know what is really happening; since that is the base of all analysis in any sense regarding trading, investments and the economy in general.
The prevailing reality in the crypto world
If you dedicate yourself to trading, you must have already developed an enormous capacity to observe and analyze the markets; And therefore, you should already know that all this that the crypto market is going through is nothing more than a cycle, one that is not new at all, but rather repeats itself from time to time in the markets.
The crypto market (and any asset market in general) fluctuates based on supply and demand; And that means something very simple: If the supply exceeds the demand, the price falls; and if the demand exceeds the supply, the price goes up.
So, although this statement is quite obvious to most people who understand about economics and investment, it must be repeated on occasions when the cryptocurrency market lies as it is right now; so that those who do not know anything about economics do not continue to think that the market is definitely falling and that everything has gone to a bottomless abyss. And especially, so that they do not echo fake news that do nothing but spread FUD and uneasiness.
Can we be sure that everything will get better at some point?
Absolutely; without a doubt; but perhaps you will say, "How can we be so sure that the crypto market will rally at some point and prices will stabilize?"
To answer that we just have to stick to common sense. Generally speaking (in the case of cryptocurrencies that are in the top 100 of world capitalization), we can be sure of this for a simple reason ...
No investment fund, no bank, no institution, company, or government invests in something that is lost, or in something that has no future; That is a reality; and we have seen enough how companies, banks, investment funds, institutions, governments, and millionaire characters have set their sights, their faith and their money in cryptocurrencies at a general level since its foundation until now; and more and more they do (even in the current times when prices are falling).
Then...
Do you think that banks that have accepted Bitcoin as a means of payment and / or investment will let Bitcoin totally become nothing? Do you think that companies of major global renown that invested in Bitcoin, Ethereum and other crypto amounts equivalent to millions of dollars will only stand by to watch their money disappear?
Let's take a recent example: The whole crypto world knows well that the price of Bitcoin began to fall from the precise moment in which Elon Musk began to make statements saying that his car company Tesla, would no longer accept Bitcoin as a means of payment because it is highly polluting ...
As a result, the price of Bitcoin began a downward spiral that continues even now; And along with Bitcoin, all or most of the altcoins are also falling since then ... But if you look closely, you will notice something important: Elon Musk said what he said about Bitcoin; But at no point has he stated that he wants to sell all the millions of dollars that he bought in Bitcoin prior to his decision to reject the main cryptocurrency for being allegedly polluting at the mining level.
You don't even need to be a genius to get notice certain things, anyone can reason why someone would do something like that. Anyway...
What is happening at a technical level?
Everything (or almost everything) what I mentioned in the post so far refers to the fundamental part; but .. What happens if we focus more on the technical part? What's going on with Bitcoin and altcoins on a technical level?
Actually, we don't even need to talk about altcoins; because all (or almost all of them) are influenced by what Bitcoin does or does not do (or what happens to it). Since the crypto market is BTC centric (so to speak); let's focus on Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is currently going through a range, an accumulation cycle that is being performed by the whales (or mighty ones of the market); This range is between $ 28,000 and $ 32,000 according to a simple analysis.
What does this mean?
That while the vast majority of those who do not really know what they are doing in the crypto market (the weak hands), think that Bitcoin is going to $ 0, and they are selling everything, the whales are taking advantage stealthily, without much noise, to accumulate as much BTC as possible at the lowest price they can buy.
And since the market is already down because it is (as I already mentioned) in the accumulation zone, it means that the whales are not even interested in pressuring the market to lower the price of Bitcoin further; They do not need to do that, the whales are simply buying all the Bitcoin that comes in front of them.
And can anyone think that the Whales are so stupid such to buy or accumulate something that they are not sure is going to go up in price?
Whales are anything but stupid; Those who believe that Bitcoin will fall do not understand the Wyckoff Method, nor what that method or theory tells us about whales and accumulation zones ...
When the price of some asset enters a long period of accumulation, the price remains low, but as soon as those who are the driving force of the market (the whales) finish accumulating at a good price; the reaccumulation cycle begins, where the price assets begin to rise quickly. In this cycle of reaccumulation, the "fools" of the market begin to enter (those who are guided by appearances), because being the price in an upward cycle, they begin to enter because of emotion; ecstatic all of them, thinking that Bitcoin (in this case) will hit $ 100,000 or $ 1 million in one go ...
And they don't realize that they are already buying at too high a price, and that the distribution cycle is just around the corner; in which the whales will sell all their Bitcoin (when the euphoria for the fomo is at its best), at the highest price they can.
At that point, the momentum will make the price of the main cryptocurrency (and most altcoins) appear to be going to the moon; But in reality, the true reality of the matter is that as soon as the whales finish selling their Bitcoin at the top of the distribution channel; then a cycle of redistribution will begin that will take everything in a downtrend to an accumulation zone again; and the cycle will start again ...
Then ...
To buy or not to buy? ... There is the dilemma ...
All this I have just explained may sound too technical, but it is the pure reality; so it is normal to wonder then if it is convenient to buy or not ...
The answer depends on you and only on you; because nobody can decide what to do or not to do with your money; and only you know your level of liquidity and your level of expenses and income ...
But if we talk at a strictly technical level, then the answer is yes, it is best to buy BTC in this current accumulation zone; preferably, the closer the price is to the $ 28,000 zone, the better the purchase.
But someone who does not have enough liquidity to do without what he will invest, should not even consider it; because it is not known exactly how long this accumulation cycle that Bitcoin is currently in will last; since the whales are trying to convert all their liquidity into BTC, but at a snail's pace, therefore this can go on for an indefinite time; time that may seem like an eternity to most mortals.
The best thing in my opinion (at least it is what I do), is to analyze the market, look for patterns of continuation and reversal of trends and trade accordingly. This is how I earn liquidity from the market; And every so often, I take part of that liquidity and buy Bitcoin and other cryptos for holding purposes.
I really believe that this is the best option for those of us who are not crypto whales yet; but that someday we most likely will be!
How did NFTs evolve and how do they work?
Greetings, once again back to talk with you about topics of great interest to the community. A few days ago in the article: `What are Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) and why are you interested in knowing about them` we talked about what Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) were and what was the importance of learning about them, if so you want to you can review it before continuing with the reading of this article.
But since we cannot stop at just knowing a concept and because it is important, this time I will be delving into the origin of NFTs and the way they work, so that we understand a little more about the scope and potential of this type of crypto active.
**How did the NFT phenomenon start?**
With the creation of Bitcoin, the concept of "trustless" digital scarcity was introduced (that is, financial operations in which no intermediaries are required). Before Bitcoin, the cost of replicating something in the digital world was close to zero. The emergence of blockchain technology has made the digital scarcity or inability to duplicate the same programmable operation possible and is being used so that the digital world emulates the real one.
Although it is true that, in the digital world, even more so in the blockchain universe, it is sometimes difficult to determine the exact moment where a certain project is developed since there are many developers that simultaneously with similar projects, we are going to consider as precursors to those who popularized the use of NFTs.
The first mentions of Non-Fungible Tokens date back to June 2017, when the Larva Labs project, made up of Matt Hall and John Watkinson, launched CryptoPunks. This project consisted of a collection of 10,000 unique digital avatars, or graphic images of different faces, which can be acquired by users, who thus become the official owners of one or another avatar.
While these avatars could be downloaded by anyone, the image was linked to an Etherum code that stores information about its owner. In 2017, the creators of the project called it: "a strange intersection between these virtual and digital things and an artificial weirdness, but a weirdness that is real and valuable in a sense."
After the launch of the CryptoPunks, it was the turn of the CryptoKitties. a game built on Ethereum that allows players to collect, breed, and trade virtual cats. Developed by Dieter Shirley, the creator of the ERC-721 standard and released on November 28, 2017, by the Canadian firm Axiom Zen, this game was a real boom in the use and commercialization of NFTs and marked a milestone in popularity. of these crypto assets.
The fact of being a playful concept attracted many people outside the blockchain ecosystem to be able to design their own CryptoKitty, these were simply images of unique animated cats that were created with certain colors and characteristics, to later be collected, put on sale, or gifted to Other users.
Each CryptoKitty has different characteristics, age, race, or color, it is also possible to reproduce among themselves and generate new offspring, which have different attributes and values compared to their parents.
This innovative collectibles game, a mix of Tamagotchis and digital Pokémon, achieved within weeks of its launch a fan base who spent $ 20 million to buy, feed, and care for them. Among the artists, singers, and celebrities.
These kittens have different prices ranging from $ 12 to $ 95,000, Genesis being the 'crypto-kitten' that set the record in 2017 when it was sold for 246 ETH ($ 115,000 at the current exchange rate, nowadays a little over $ 500,000). The Genesis record was then beaten by Dragon another CryptoKitty sold for the amount of 600 ETH or 1,200,000 dollars at the current exchange rate.
The great boom experienced by the CryptoKitties generated major operational problems in the Ethereum network due to the high activity it caused and the congestion of the same, which also highlighted the great development opportunities of the NFT market.
Other memorable moments from the NFTs
Here is a small account of the launch of some of the most popular NFT projects:
***Gamedex***, a trading card game platform through the use of Non-Fungible Tokens, raised an initial investment round of $ 800,000 in 2018.
***Decentraland***, a blockchain-based virtual world, raised $ 26 million in an initial coin offering and had an internal economy of $ 20 million in September 2018. A Decentraland package sold for $ 215,000 in November 2018.
***CryptoKicks***, Nike patents its blockchain-based NFT sneakers in December 2019, as a mechanism to attack the resale and counterfeiting of the sports firm's shoes.
***Top Shot.*** Dapper Labs, in collaboration with the NBA, launched on October 1, 2020, an app in which you can buy packs that, they say, contain multimedia and exclusive data on the best moments of the NBA, as of February 28, 2021, Dapper Labs reported more than $ 230 million in gross sales on the app.
***Singer Grimes*** sold around $ 6 million worth of digital art at Nifty Gateway in February 2021.
***When You See Yourself***, Kings of Leon's album from March 2021, is the first musical album distributed as non-expendable tokens.
***The Italian band Belladonna*** became, on March 17, 2021, the first band in the world to hold an auction for a song using TNF that included the distribution rights to the master of the song.
How Non-Fungible Tokens work
As we discussed in the previous article, since NFTs are unique, no two are alike, therefore an NFT cannot be replaced by another identical token; This property is known as non-fungibility and is enforced through smart contracts that prevent duplication, while publicly visible blockchains allow evidence of scarcity.
Blockchain technology and its transaction record, as well as the use of smart contracts, provides NFTs with the following characteristics:
• **Indivisible:** NFTs cannot be divided into smaller denominations like bitcoin satoshis. They exist exclusively as a complete article.
• **Not interoperable:** one NFT cannot replace another within its ecosystem, for example, a CryptoPunk cannot be used as a character in the CryptoKitties game or vice versa. This also applies to collectibles like trading cards; A Blockchain Heroes card cannot be used in the Gods Unchained trading card game.
• **Indestructible:** the blockchain and smart contracts allow all NFT data to be stored, so each token cannot be destroyed, eliminated, or replicated. The ownership of these tokens is also immutable, meaning that players and collectors own their NFTs, not the companies that create them.
• **Verifiable:** another benefit of storing historical ownership data on the blockchain is that items such as digital artworks can be traced back to the original creator, allowing pieces to be authenticated without the need for third-party verification.
In practice, NFT tokens are metadata inserted into a digital file that has as many specifications as you can imagine and are inserted into the blockchain through smart contracts that make them indivisible and unique. In this way, if you acquire a Gif, for example, the creator's signature, its design date, when you acquired it, etc. will appear.
In the technical profile, the NFTs work and are transferred taking advantage of Ethereum's Smart Contract technology. They evolved from the ERC-721 standard, which, unlike the usual protocol for Smart Contracts that allows them to be divisible and interchangeable (what is necessary to create useful cryptocurrencies), encourages what is called ‘digital scarcity’. It is not very different from the concept of economic scarcity. Each NFT should be unique or have a limited number, so its value tends to rise.
NFTs can also be presented in different forms, this depending on the standard on which they are based, for example, **ERC721** and **ERC1155 for Ethereum's NFTs, and TRC721 for TRON's. Each of these standards has its advantages and limitations, which can affect the types of NFTs that can be created, similar to how a chef is limited by the ingredients at his disposal.
**ERC-721 standard**
ERC-721 was the first standard smart contract to represent non-fungible digital assets, used for issuing and trading non-fungible assets on the Ethereum blockchain. This is a Solidity inheritable standard, which means that developers can easily create new ERC-721 compliant contracts by importing them from the OpenZeppelin library.
**ERC-1155 standard**
ERC-1155 brings the idea of semi-fungibility to the TNF world, as well as provides a superset of ERC-721 functionality, meaning that an ERC-721 asset could be built using ERC-1155. This allows a single contract to contain both fungible and non-fungible tokens, opening up a whole range of new possibilities.
If you want us to delve more deeply into the characteristics and use of Smart Contracts in our blockchain world, do not hesitate to request it.
Well friends, so far we already know what Non-Fungible Tokens consist of because they interest us, how they originated and how they work, if you want to know what other interesting applications they have, as well as how they are marketed and other important data about NFT do not miss the next installment in this series.
I would very much like to read your appreciations and opinions on this topic, if you like the way it is developed and you want me to write about a particular topic, do not hesitate to ask me in the comment box, thank you very much for your attention.
New Game Economy Updates with Commentary
Hey guys, I found the recent changes to be pretty amusing and wanted to give you some thoughts of what I really loved, why, and what could be improved for the future.
If you haven't read the recent update yet, you can find it.
The two main points of change in the recent update are:
DEC Ranked Battle Rewards
Loot Chests for Bronze and Silver League
The recent rise of Splinterlands asset prices on third-party markets has caused a situation in which players are able to earn a significant amount of rewards with only the purchase of the Summoner's Spellbook, and without ever needing to acquire or even rent any in-game assets. While this may benefit the Splinterlands company in the short term (due to increased Spellbook sales), it is unsustainable for the overall game economy and therefore also bad for the company and the community in the long term.
It is very important to the overall game economy that players are always incentivized to get to higher leagues and obtain more cards, so when a situation like this arises it is critical that it gets addressed as quickly as possible.
With this I agree fully, and it is great to see that the founders are this deeply concerned about this issue because it shows their understanding of the game economy and care for the long term prosperity of the game.
Following that is the one sentence that I find a little troubling:
For a healthy, long-term game economy, **the earning opportunities must be proportional to the amount of in-game assets held**.
The concept that earning opportunities are proportional to in-game assets held is one I disagree emphatically.
Value in Splinterlands and Game Economy
If you are into the crypto universe you know that there's a lot of projects that are pure speculation, filled with nothing but emptiness and people holding bags at the end of the day. So it is clear to me that value and the fact that somebody holds an asset have no **necessary** co-relation whatsoever. When we talk about the game economy of Splinterlands, we must remain conscious of the word **game**. Value is added to the game economy when people wanna invest their capital and time to play it. Sure, everything that has value will gather investor's attention, meaning people not interested in the game itself but only of making a profit from the game, but that is just a part of that economy, and that can only exist because of the people who find those assets actually valuable (players). In short, players are the ones that actually drive value into the game, and as such I believe they are the ones who should receive the better earning opportunities, and although that has a relation with **in-game assets held**, I don't believe that this should be the only metric.
I believe that the concept of collection power being a need to rank up is a great economic thought from the Splinterlands team, and with that they tied the game and economy side of Splinterlands into one integrated whole. By doing so, they can now treat Splinterlands as a game, rewarding players by being better or worse players accordingly, and the economy side of things will still make sense perfectly. That's the beauty of a functional, well thought concept. It **works** and **integrates**.
Incentives of Holding Assets
I understand the reason why that crossed the minds of the founders, or at least I have an idea of what it can be, and it is to generate an incentive to hold assets. That makes perfect sense and you should incentive your players to hold game assets. Power is one incentive as I talked before, it forces you to hold assets if you wanna earn better rewards and rank up to compete in higher leagues. The problem of expanding this concept of holding assets to everything is that you start to give rewards for a lot of people that do not provide value back into the game. It is great to give rewards for early adopters that have hold their assets for years, and they have earned a lot with the rental system and airdrops even if they do not play the game. The ones that are currently putting some hours have even been blessed with some SPS bonuses in the tournaments that can only be played by some with gigantic SPS rewards. So I don't believe Splinterlands is being ungrateful to their most faithful players, and I think all those things are really amazing, but there has to be a balance between the rewards given to passive holders and the reward given to active players, and I believe that has to change in the future. Players who are either renting, or owning a lot of assets to reach higher leagues have no real incentive to put the hours, nor the effort if they are considering it a monetary matter. You'll make 100x more money if you just rent your assets than if you play to reach Champion III for example, and people who rent to reach to those leagues are not profiting unless they open a lottery loot chest.
DEC Ranked Battle Reward
Starting shortly after the end of the current ranked play season on Thursday, September 30th, 2021, the DEC rewards given out for a ranked battle win will be based on the *minimum* of the winning player's current rating and the maximum rating for their current league within the game.
For example, if a player's ranked battle rating is currently 2,500 and they are in the Silver I league, then when they win a ranked battle their DEC reward will be based on a rating of 1,899 (the maximum rating for the Silver I league).
To be honest I always thought that was the way this worked, and this is the only way that makes any sense to me. If you reward people for the rating without the power, you're pretty much breaking the concept of power to get rewards you don't really deserve. This for me is just the fix of a bug. Very well done!
Loot Chests for Bronze and Silver League
The second area that needs to be addressed is the rewards given out in loot chests in Bronze/Novice league specifically. Starting shortly after the end of the current ranked play season on Thursday, September 30th, 2021, loot chests earned in Bronze league will give out Credits instead of DEC tokens, and will also have a lower chance of containing reward cards as compared to loot chests in Silver league and above.
The new percentage breakdown of receiving the different types of rewards based on league are shown in the table below:
This is another great change implemented by the founders, and it aims at the overwhelming number of players that have been farming rewards with close to no skin in the game. I embrace this with all my heart and just wished this incentive to being a better player (higher league), which also implies in holding more assets had continued throughout all the leagues, following Gold, Diamond and Champion. Hopefully this happens in the future and we create more incentives to grind it up!
Conclusions
I feel like there's a little bit of confusion still in the air about the path for the future and what will be the focus of the future incentives, if passive holders or active players, maybe both. But the general changes that will be implemented seems solid, very straight forward and effective in what they want to achieve.
This was my little take on the recent changes, I'd really love to know if I missed anything, and your own thoughts on it. What do you think will be the impact of these new changes in the Splinterlands Economy?
Thank you for Reading!

Splinterlands | The complete beginner strategy tutorial
I have been pretty active in the discord lately, mainly trying to help beginners with questions about strategy. Questions that get asked over and over again are: **how to get started**, **how to get out of bronze**, **what cards should I buy/rent in bronze**, etc.
This post aims to answer all those questions and really help beginners getting started with **splinterland strategies**.
You should note that I do not necessarily have the best answer to everything. I'm just a splinterlands player that has been getting into splinterland strategies for a couple of months now and I have created my share of guides as well. With all my experience I'm trying to help beginners as much as possible. However, I'm still a human player with personal preferences, keep that in mind!
Intro
My intention is to get you guys all the basic strategy information you need to get started. However, I want to avoid giving you an information overload, so I will link to a lot of other articles that will go more in-depth on these topics. This way you can still decide what topics you wan't to get into more. That being said, the information in this article alone should be enough to at least get you started.
Understand the game mechanics
Before we can really get into splinterlandss strategies you will need to understand how the game mechanics work. If you know this already, good, skip to the next subtitle. For this tutorial to make sense, you should understand at the least the very basics.
If you are completely new to the game, it might be worth it to quickly go through this article: `New player guide`**.** It's less about strategy and more about the basics in general.
Most of this stuff you can learn while playing. You will figure out how the abilities work, how magic damage works, how shields work, how attack speed works, etc.
However, there are a couple of things that you might not know yet. For example, did you know that it's possible to have a 100% chance of missing?
Did you know that an ability given by a battle condition (let's say opportunity) does not have priority over the native ability of the card (let's say sneak). Meaning that if a monster has the sneak ability but also gets the opportunity ability from the battle conditions, the monster will attack the last enemy monster and not the one with the lowest health.
Also, did you know that the reflect magic ability will be triggered when someone takes damages, but the shatter ability will only trigger when a monster is actually attacked (this matters when the blast ability comes into play)
Okay, if you didn't get any of that last paragraph at all, that's completely fine. I just wanted to make a point, that even if you think you know it all, there is a big chance that you don't know everything. Having **the mindset that you will need to keep learning** as you make your way through bronze, silver and gold leagues (and even when you go higher) is the way to go!
Strategies
In terms of strategy, I highly recommend to **focus on 2 splinters** and maybe have a third as a backup.
Why? Well, if you only focus on one, you will have too many games where you cannot use the only splinter you invested in. If you invest in all 5 splinters, you would invest a little bit of money in every deck, meaning your strongest deck will not be as strong. If you focus on 2 splinters, you can usually play at least 1 of them.
Having a third splinter where you occasionally buy some cheaper cards for (go for the quick-wins) will be good to use as a backup splinter. It will be far inferior to your other 2, but you still have a fighting chance with this one!
Once again, this is not a right or wrong situation, this is simply what worked best for me.
For me using **Malric with fire** and **Alric with water** were the best options! Also, it's no coincidence that these summoners are the most expensive summoners of the free 2 play cards at the moment.
The only downside is that once you want to upgrade these summoners you will realise that these guys are very expensive. However, as long as you are sticking with the leve 1 f2p version of the card you have nothing to worry about.
My backup splinter would be earth with Mylor Crowling.
Also, if you are okay with paying the cost to rent (or buy... if you are rich) you can consider going with Yodin Zaku. He is expensive, but he will make your life very easy in bronze and silver (`guide here`).
I'm not going to go too in-depth about these specific strategies in this post, but I will link to separate posts and give you a little bit of information about these strategies.
Malric Inferno
The basic strategy is really simple. Malric adds +1 damage to every melee monster, so we want to use as many melee monsters as possible. Using a lot of small mana melee creatures (or large ones for higher mana battles) that can attack when they are not in first position is the way to go. Now, since these cards will be pretty squishy it's important to have a good tank as your first creature, living lava is an obvious pick here
**Full Malric guide**
Alric Stormbringer
It's not overly complicated, Alric buffs the magic damage of our monsters so we tend to use as many magic monsters as possible. The more magic monsters we use, the more impact our summoner buff will have.
In very low mana fights I often don't even use a melee creature (who would be our frontline tank). Instead I would use a chicken, albatros and or ooze as the frontline. These low mana creatures can buy some time for our damage dealers to get the job done. And even after that, you would have at least a 4 health magic monster after that. Usually you will kill the enemy fast enough. Remember, every creature will deal at least 2 damage + they ignore armor, making them real killing machines. If you don't have cards like "ooze" or "furious chicken", the spinback turtle is also a good option in.

Mylor Crowling
The game plan is pretty straightforward, we want to make as much use of our summoner ability as possible. This means that we need to be able to absorb a lot of attacks. Also, since the thorns ability is only effective against melee monsters, we either want to use it only when we expect a lot of melee monsters, or we can put some anti-magic monsters in our lineup.

Battle conditions
Now that I have pointed you to the right directions when it comes to what summoners, monsters and strategies to use, it's time to discuss another very important something, the battle conditions.
If you simply always read and think about the battle rules you will have a big advantage over the average bronze player. This may sound silly, but it's true. Even I made a lot of mistakes.
For example let's say the battle condition is "back to basics", this means monsters lose all their abilities. Some players even forget that part, but most players will think about the fact that their monsters will not be able to use their ability.
However, not all of you (and especially players in the lowest leagues) will think about the fact that the enemy player will also lose all their abilities. Meaning that you don't have to care about defending your backline, you don't need to think about getting sniped, you know the exact order of how your monsters will die, etc. If you think about stuff like this, you will have an edge!
Don't limit your thinking, thinking about how these battle rules affect your opponent is equally important than thinking about how these affect you. It makes you more likely to predict and counter your enemy, more on that later.
Going over all the battle conditions one by one is pretty impossible, but I do have a detailed article about `earthquake` and `noxious fumes.` If you wan't to go the extra mile, make sure to check them out!
Strategy concepts
Next to specific strategies, you should also learn about some strategy concepts. Once again, I will not go into too much detail, but I will instead link to articles if you want to learn more about it.
One of the most important concepts is to focus your fire. Meaning that you don't spread out your damage too much so that no one will actually die in the first round. This does not mean that you should only use monsters that attack the enemy first monster either, just don't just sneak, snipe, opportunity and reach all in one lineup (sidenote: this might actually be okay in some very specific situations).
**Learn more about Focus Fire** https://www.publish0x.com/splinterlands-card-game/splinterlands-strategy-concepts-focus-fire-xjmkdgr?a=JxboQAANeg
The next one I have to mention is positioning. Where focus fire focuses on offence, positioning focuses more on defence. Gotta protect those squishy damage dealers.
Learn more about Positioning https://www.publish0x.com/splinterlands-card-game/splinterlands-strategy-concepts-positioning-xrykezr?a=JxboQAANeg
Last but not least, scouting. With scouting, I'm talking about getting information from your enemy before you actually submit your teams. This is something that a lot of bronze league players don't know and will definitely give you an edge!
`Learn more about Scouting`
Anticipate the plan of your enemy
You will often see that the battle rules and the allowed that the battle rules splinters are making a certain strategy seem like the obvious pick. When this happens, your enemy will often think the same way. In this case it might be better to counter that strategy instead of playing it.
You don't have to commit entirely to countering a certain strategy, but if it seems likely that the enemy will play a high magic damage strategy, add one/multiple anti-magic monsters to the lineup.
Keep in mind, that scouting the enemy will also help with this.
Doing this might not be useful every single fight, but trying to anticipate your enemy will definitely give you an edge in the lower leagues. Also, it becomes more and more important once you start climbing the ladder, so the sooner you start practicing this, the better!
Scouting, battle rules, sandworm in high mana battles
What to buy/rent
Okay what the buy and or rent is something that I could also write an entire post about. However, you should probably mainly focus on the cards that I discussed in the strategy posts. The most important factor is what splinter(s) you usually play.
I also don't want to get into the discussion about whether or not you should buy or rent. That being said, if you have to rent in order to get enough power to reach the next league, do it!
Next to splinter specific monsters there are also a couple of neutrals that are really good and that you can use with any splinter. Currently, I'm mainly liking the **sandworm** and the **creeping ooze** as your first neutral monsters to get. Furious chicken is also extremely good, but it has gotten too expensive at the time of writing.
Once you have most of the monsters that you want you should start thinking about levelling your team. Before you can use levelled monsters your summoner has to be levelled. More information on level limitations can be found under stats (after you select a card).
When you level up a monster, consider the increased stats (what is he actually gaining), 1 more damage is usually a lot more important than one more attack speed. Also, think about the total price, some monsters require more cards too be upgraded than others.
Building the Weapon for a Goddess - The Catch Polearm | Genshin Impact v2.1 |EN/ES|
The Shogun Raiden (Ei) caused a massive hype on Genshin Impact. While I am still building this character, I needed a proper weapon for her. I don't have many polearm characters developed, so I had to start from scratch. Luckily, this game version came with the possibility of obtaining a great F2P weapon named The Catch.
**How to obtain**
Honestly, this is the most laborious weapon to get in the game. It took me nine days to complete all what is requested. The Catch is a reward weapon we can exchange for fish at the Inazuma fishing association. The thing is, those fishes are rare, and they don't appear in enough quantity frequently enough. The weapon takes the twenty of the two types of koi fish, and seven purple angelfish. As for the enhancement materials, it also requires angelfish, and the Sturgeon kind of fish of both types. This task demands you to visit your friends' worlds to complete this. If you caught some during the previous fishing event, that's great!
**Weapon Stats and Refiment**
Once we manage to trade all the fish for the weapon, it is time to level it up. The Catch has as main value a maximum of 510 ATK wich is moderate among four-stars weapons, and it has a good amount of energy recharge (ER) as sub stat. That suits perfectly Raiden Shogun as she needs and benefit from ER the most. AS passive skill, it increases the character's burst damage and the critical rate of that skill is a very good amount. This makes The Catch a really good weapon for the Raiden, and also for characters like Xiangling.
The materials needed to level up this weapon are all new from Inazuma region. One we might focus first is the Spectral Husk, a item given by the new enemies of this version. The mask of the Wicked is obtain at its proper domain, and the Chaos gear is dropped by the Ruin guards proper of Inazuma.
**Testing and Battle**
Armed with this weapon, my Raiden Shogun is near 2000 ATK and passed 200 ER. Using the set created for her, I managed to increase my burst damage a lot. that combines with the passive skill of this weapon.
Armado con esta arma, mi Raiden Shogun está cerca de 2000 ATK y pasó 200 ER. Usando el set creado para ella, logré aumentar mucho mi daño de la ulti. Eso se combina con la habilidad pasiva de esta arma.
Although the weapon style and color isn't that Japanese or violet, I believe it gives a nice combination and contrast to this character. Not everything can be shiny purple lol.
Aunque el estilo y el color del arma no es tan japonés o violeta, creo que le da una buena combinación y contraste a este personaje. No todo puede ser lol púrpura brillante.
In combat it performs great for a four-stars weapon. I obtain decent numbers with melee having this talent at level six. Her charged attack also do decent damage. But when she shines the most is during the burst when I obtain 7k-8k per hit and a beautiful +70k with the first blow.
If you are also a complete F2P of Soft F2P player, this weapon is your best option compared to others. you may acquire like the Favonius lance. It is truly worth the effort. IF you have Xiangling it can also be a great choice for her. He, if you need some fish, come visit my world and farm them out!
Él, si necesitas pescado, ¡ven a visitar mi mundo y farmealos!
My 325 and only Pinmapple pin in Colombia
Twelve years ago I went to Latin America on a business trip. It was my first time in the region and I went to Brazil and Colombia. In my quest to anchor as many countries as possible on my Pinmapple map, I posted about Brazil a few years ago, but was never able to post about Bogota as I only have a few photos that are not very high quality. Most important of all, I had no idea where I was going, until I came across a post by @ sofiaquino98 a while back.
Turns out I was on Monserrate Hill, and before you wonder, the low quality image is a combination of the foggy weather and the really low quality due to the crappy camera I had at the time.
Hill of Monserrate
Although it's called a hill, Monserrate hill is actually 3152 meters above sea level. That's really high, especially by UK standards, where our highest mountain is only 1345 meters above sea level. I have very little memory of how I got there, my colleagues from the local office probably came to pick us (me and my two other UK colleagues) up from the hotel. I remember that in those days, Bogota was still a pretty unsafe place and we were told not to go out alone. I don't know if things have improved now.
In fact, the week I was there, one of our client's top executives was mugged in his home and had to hide with his family. We had to cancel our meeting with him. I'm not sure if it was a one-time incidence, if it had something to do with his company (they are a major global distillery company), if top executives of wealthy businesses are regularly robbed at home or if he was involved in some shady business. I was told that drug cartels were a big problem in Bogota, so it was quite dangerous. By the way, if there are Colombians reading this, please tell me if I am exaggerating. I'm just going by what my local colleagues in Bogota told me.
Anyway, I digress. I vaguely remember riding the cable car up the mountain, and these photos certainly jogged my memory. I don't remember if I took these going up or coming down. This is probably one of, if not the steepest, cable cars I remember riding.
According to the official website, the ascent from the base to the top of the hill is 820 meters and takes 4 minutes on the cable car. Here is the view as we left (or approached?) the base.
And the view as we get higher up the mountain, the scenery is truly amazing.
And finally we reach the top of Monserrate hill.
During my two weeks stay in Brazil and Colombia, the weather was always cloudy when I reached the top of the mountains. It was so when I went to the summit Sugarloaf and Corcovado to see Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro the week before, and now it was foggy on Monserrate Hill as well. Can anyone from Rio and Bogota tell me if I was just unlucky?
There is a church at the top of the hill and I remembered that we walked for a while. The foggy weather was a bit disappointing, otherwise I'm sure the view of Bogota would have been quite spectacular.
In the evening we were taken to dinner at a very nice restaurant that was decorated like a toy store. It was really nice. One of the ladies bought her two beautiful girls that day and they were so darling, so well behaved. Our dinner turned into a beauty session when the younger one let me braid her beautiful blonde hair 😊.
And finally, to end the night, we stopped at a siding of sorts to enjoy a night view of the city of Bogota. This must be a popular spot as there were a lot of cars here. And I can understand why. Although I have only met all these Colombians that one time, they have cemented a place in my travels around the world and have made my number 325, the only Pinmapple for Colombia.
Horizon Zero Dawn - First Impressions
**A gaming masterpiece**
After I got my PS5, I did a quick write up about this game when I was just a couple hours in, but now that I am a little over 10 hours in, I can some better insights on the game. Well, to be honest, this game is absolutely amazing. It is one of the best games that I have ever played and I can see why it has so many perfect ratings.
You are Aloy, a Nora outcast that was raised by a father figure named Rost, who is also an outcast of the Nora tribe. Aloy does not know anything about her real family and that is part her quest, to find out who she really is and what her purpose is.
Aloy trains her whole life up until she is a teenager to be able to compete and win in the "Proving" which is basically the Nora Tribe's way of proving their skills as a warrior. If she completes the Proving, she will be allowed to be let back into the tribe and no longer be an outcast. But she has her sights set on winning the whole proving and not just finishing it.
The night before the Proving, she is allowed into the tribe's village to take part in the celebration.
But not everyone is happy to see her and still treat her as an outcast. She does make one friend with one of her competitors though and things start to look like they will get better for her.
Aloy wins the Proving and becomes a part of the tribe. But the joy is short lived as a rival tribe attacks everyone, killing the majority of the competitors, including her new friend.
Aloy does her best to fight off the attackers and kills the majority of them, but she is no match for the bandit leader.
Luckily Rost comes to her rescue and fights off the bandit leader.
As Rost fights off the bandit leader, Aloy is able to get away, but not before an explosion kills Rost and sends her flying off a cliff.
Aloy is found and brought into the sacred Nora temple and treated for her wounds.
The village matriarch that treated her begins to tell her of her past and how she came to the village. It was in this temple that she was found when she was just a baby.
Some of the other matriarchs believed that she was cursed as a child and that is why she was outcast from the tribe.
Aloy is given the title of Seeker within the tribe, which allows her to leave the sacred tribal lands and go after those that attacked her tribe. She is also on a quest to learn about herself and where she came from.
Inside of the sacred lands, everything seems primitive. We really have no idea what time this game is set in or how the machines came to be, but as we begin to explore, we learn that it is about 1000 years from now and that something happened to humanity that caused everything to collapse and machines took over.
Aloy learns different abilities that allow her to take charge of the machines.
The game is pretty massive and there is a ton of exploration to do. So many artifacts that give some insights into the world and what happened to it. The scale of the game is huge.
The graphics are amazing. Some of the best I have ever seen in a video game. The attention to detail in some of the monsters is pretty crazy.
Like this massive monster here. If you look closely, you can see dirt all over its mouth area where it has been scooping up piles of dirt.
The combat can get pretty insane. Each machine has its own weaknesses that need to be exploited to be able to defeat them. This huge monster has several weak points that need to be struck before it is vulnerable to attack.
Crafting is a major part of the game and you won't get anywhere if you are not collecting all of the different items. Normally I do not like a lot of the crafting in these types of games and crafting can see like a huge chore, but with this game, everything that you collect has a purpose and the crafting is pretty rewarding.
These gazelle type machines have "blaze" canisters on their backs that are their weak points and when you hit them, they can break off. They are used to create some different fire type weapons, like fire arrows and if you hit these canisters with a fire arrow, they will explode causing massive damage.
I made it to the second large city and it is crazy how different these people living compared to the Nora Tribe in their sacred lands. It is like I am progressing through human evolution. Another thing that is pretty awesome is how much detail the developers have put into creating this world.
I was exploring in the city last night and as I approached some geese, they began honking at me then I heard a boar off in the distance and it got louder as it approached. The sound design on this game is next level. Even when you wander around the cities, you can heard people whispering to each other about your character if she is wearing something that is from another part of the world. This game really is one of the most immersive gaming experiences I have ever had.
Horizon Forbidden West, which is the sequel is going to be releasing some time soon and it looks so awesome. I can't wait to finish this first one and I will be looking forward to playing this next one.
Overall, this game is a must play. I have been looking forward to playing this since it launched and I am so glad that I finally have a PS5 and I am able to play this. It is crazy to see how much games have evolved over the years into these types of masterpieces. If you have played this game, let me know how you
liked it and if you haven't played it, hopefully you get the opportunity to do so soon because it really is one of the greatest games ever made.
Things are not always what they seem
Last week, the girl I have been dating for the last 6 months or so finally made her decision that making me wait for her was not good for either of us, and that she should let me go.
I need to fix me, you deserve the best and I'm not the best at the moment, I am not good for you now
This obviously hurt, and is likely said under 'normal' circumstances at the end of some relationships, but what followed when we spoke in person a few days later opened my eyes to why this year, and close 'special' friendship with this person, has played out like it has.
She conceded she has had some phycological issues in the past, and then blurted out 'Borderline'. I actually had no clue what this meant but did understand 'abandonment', and the other symptoms that were mentioned. Apparently, in recent years some of the markers or traits have left her, but clearly there are some which remain - jealousy, emphatic emotional responses, and that signature fear of abandonment being ones that I have witnessed - signaled by those red flags many of the folks commenting here swept under the carpet due to infatuation / care / love for what we saw in front of our eyes.
We met 3 years ago and although the time as friends was short, I'd not forgotten about this girl with a gorgeous smile (yeah ok, gorgeous many things), and fate meant we met again earlier this year, her Birthday in fact, as I moved back to the Island to live and work.
Being a fair distance apart with only weekends being feasible for time together, this worked well for us both at the start, but I (and I think she, at least at times) wished that there there was less space and pressure on a set day and a night to get to know each other further.
She did talk to me calmly but sternly quite early on that she had noticed my wayward glances. I brushed this off with 'I look at everyone, it's natural and means nothing', but clearly in hindsight this was not going to be accepted, and I as the next favourite person or 'special friend' , was completely in the dark about how this was a trigger, set to re-open large wounds yet to heal fully.
As time passed, discussions around me moving closer begin and although mostly positive, I missed (or more accurately, over-looked) some obvious signs there were major doubts in her mind. (Two weeks ago yesterday I made that move - a week too early, or would it always have been a week too early?...)
Around a month ago she started to spend more time with a work colleague, and the reason given was that he was hurting from a previous relationship and needed support. I was positive about this and supported what she wished to do - especially as it involved a long walk in the countryside as that is something she enjoys and is a therapy to many, with or without underlying disorders.
They went on to meet multiple times in August, and I did start then to feel her slipping away but ignored the signs. You see we never made it out of 'dating', and although I was a 'special friend', I had no say on what she did or who she met with. I'm not a controlling person, rarely jealous, and believe freedom and choice in a friendship/relationship or otherwise is really important to have.
It was however following one of these meetings with him, that a message arrived the following day. He had (apparently) broken down into tears and declared his undying love for her, and obviously, this had 'confused' her feelings towards me.
I was later told that he had said what I now feel are the magic, temporarily magic words that a person with insecurity, jealousy, abandonment issues would love to hear on repeat.
when I am with you, everything around me disappears
My thoughts on this initially were, you bastard, that's a great line to steal someone's date. I didn't know then though (and could not possibly understand ever) just what those words would mean to a person requiring the attention and validation that they are the be all and end all - the single and only important thing in someone's life.
I don't feel I've explained this too well at all, but I do think that these words were the final straw. Despite all my good words and deeds, nothing would match those words, which were delivered in native tongue, something which I am at beginner level with.
However, did he do me a huge solid? I think in some way yes, but I also believe that this girl has some love and empathy for herself and others around her - making the final decision to call things off before my heart was completely smashed to pieces. This tells me that all is not lost for her.
The times we shared were 99% positive, at least through my eyes. Parting comments do show that she appreciated these moments too and I, rightly or wrongly, do believe this to be true. There are doubts though, thoughts that the last 6 months meant nothing and that I was in some ways being used to try and fill a gap that could never be filled, and that this parting was written on the wall from the start.
She is now back in healing mode, writing, planning her daily schedule, food intake, taking long walks alone, and other things to try and reset and begin again on a footing she feels is real and secure. I truly wish her the best, and now need to understand I cannot help 'fix' her, and need to work on resetting my own balance.
There are many comments in this thread that struck a chord with me, some of which I've added below.
There is a constant sense of anxiety, fear, desire to be loved and made safe. The problem is, these feelings are so deep-seated and so overwhelming, no external source of validation or love will ever be enough.
But when they meet someone new, particularly a codependent person who has poor boundaries and gives too much of themselves, it temporarily fills the void.
... Once the honeymoon phase starts to wane, once the novelty wears off, the void begins to open back up. Fear and anxiety set back in, but how could that be? They had found happiness. Their partner is just not giving them the same feeling anymore. They need more, but the partner is incapable of giving it.
The partner can step up their game and alleviate the feeling temporarily, but it gets harder and harder, all the while the partner is losing more and more of themselves in the relationship.
Whenever we had a great moment, something meaningful, she would talk about how amazing she felt, how much she loved me, how this was all so perfect... but I learned that just meant a crash was coming. She would inevitably need space to "reconsider the relationship" for an undefined amount of time with no explanation, would get super mad and start arguments over small things or things that had happened months ago that she never told me about.
I don't think that we were tricked so much as we deceived ourselves.
Looking back my pwBPD's ~~bad~~ behaviors were visible from the very beginning.
But instead of confronting her about them at the time in a healthy way, I swept them under the rug.
In summation, a pwBPD's unrealistic image of themselves is not sustainable and neither is the unrealistic image they assign to you. Therein lies the breakdown in reality between the internal and external world.
It's wild shit when you get into the mechanics of BPD phenomenology. It's completely natural to accept a pwBPD at face value (just like you would anyone else), and this is why these relationships are so mind blowing and traumatizing when the hinges fly off the cabinet doors. pwBPD not only live in the past, but they've created an alternate reality to cope with it in the present.
Your experience with a pwBPD may have had genuine elements. Some of us experienced nothing genuine and that is a huge shock and an immense emotional burden to grapple with. It is not empowering, most of us are left ashamed of ourselves, thinking we are very stupid and naïve, and we wrestle with self-trust....
If *you* are reading this:
I apologise immensely for my part in re-opening old wounds
Thank you for brightening my summer and in the end, 'setting me free'
Acepta el pasado, ámate a ti mismo, y un día creerás que los demás también lo hacen
On searching through the ~~Steem and~~ Hive archives, there is a lack of content on Borderline Personality Disorder. There are some general, re-hashed online content looking efforts, but that's not what I was looking for.
I did find a piece from June 2017, and wish to thank the author for producing this. He mentions parents and god, so close to the nerve relating to my account, but something I have purposely not written about above. https://ecency.com/post/@kafkanarchy84/borderline-personality-disorder-running-from-love-because-you-don-t-wanna-lose-it
His message to *you*, as a person 'who has basically recovered (mostly, I think) from Borderline Personality Disorder', is likely a better way to end this blog:
You are an invaluable, inimitable, unique and wonderful human being on this planet. You do not need anyone's approval because you already have the approval of life itself. The road out of this hell is a long one, and to some degree or another, never ends, but as you ascend and see the nature of your hallucination, you will be empowered, and see that the world is, although dangerous and risk-laden often times, a sensible, logical and beautiful place, and that the nightmare of your inadequacy was just a short circuit put into place a long time ago. It is not too late to set it straight and start again.
You can do this! You are the shit! You are life, itself! And all the love in the universe is yours.
Though you may wish to push away those that claim to love you, because you can't believe them when they say so, and though you may wish to test their "phony love" by pushing them to the limits with insults and all sorts of emotional attacks, it is my hope that you will turn that mirror around, and see that truly you are only attacking yourself. Fuck what the people in the past may or may not have thought of you. You are born again, and I want to be the first to say...
Happy birthday.
DeathLoop - First Impressions
**Prepare to Die and Die and Die**
DeathLoop is a first person shooter game that adds some pretty unique game play. It is made by Arkane Studios and Bethesda. I was pretty intrigued with this game before launch and I decided to give it a try and I am glad that I did.
If you watch the trailer, you can see how weird the idea for this game is. Basically, you are on an island that is stuck in a time loop where you basically live the same day over and over again. The only way to break the loop and get free from the island is to kill 8 "Visionaries" in the same day.
So every day, Colt, your character, wakes up on this beach and starts the lives the same day over and over again.
The goal is to break the loop by defeating the 8 visionaries, but the problem is they are all in different places throughout the day and you must find out where they are going to be and when by searching the island for different clues on their locations.
The island is broken up into four different locations and when you are outside of Colt's bunker exploring the locations, time essentially stands still, but once you go back into the bunker, time advances to the next phase. There is the morning phase, noon, afternoon and night time phase, and each location is different depending on the phase you are playing it in.
So you essentially just spend your time searching the different locations at different times and gather clues on the whereabouts of the visionaries and plan the best time to try and kill them.
The only problem is that you are also being hunted by an assassin named Julianna and she can appear at any time in any of the zones. So as you hunt down these visionaries, Julianna is also trying to hunt you down to protect the loop from ending.
The game is basically a single player game, but you can open your game lobby up for a multiplayer experience where other players can join your game as Julianna and hunt you down. You can also choose to play as Julianna to invade other people's games and mess with them. I haven't tried it yet, but I am looking forward to it and to try and keep other players from closing the loop.
I got this game when it released on the 14th, but I wanted to wait a while before I gave my first impressions on it because I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first. The idea for the game was so foreign and it took some time to get used to how it all worked. At first I thought it was kind of stupid, but the more I explored the island and figured out how the whole thing worked, I really began to enjoy it.
The visionaries are all basically scientists that created this large structure on the island that keeps it in an endless time loop. I have no idea how long this loop has been going, but you do eventually learn that Colt was there for at least 50 years the first time he was on the island and he did escape, but for some reason he came back.
When you die in the game, all of the gear and abilities that you get during the day are lost, unless you infuse them, which makes them persist through death and the days. It is a pretty cool progression system that is essential to being able to defeat the visionaries.
The graphics are really good and each area has so many little secrets to explore depending on the time of day. All the enemies also switch places depending on the time of day. The main square can be empty during the morning time, but towards the end of the day as the party begins, it starts to fill up with a lot of enemies, so it is best to avoid this area early on before you have built up some nice gear.
The progression system is pretty cool in the game as you collect weapons, upgrades and trinkets and then decide which ones that you want to infuse to keep for later runs. The visionaries also drop an upgrade called a slab that is like a special power, and the more times that you defeat them, you can upgrade their powers.
One thing that is pretty cool with the game is that they are taking full advantage of the new PS5 controller. When you fire the guns, there is some nice feedback with the triggers and when people talk to you through the walk talkie, it comes out of the controller's speaker.
Overall, I am really enjoying the game and it keeps getting better the more I discover things in the game. It is going to be pretty crazy trying to kill all of the visionaries in the same day, all while avoiding Julianna. It is a very different concept for a game, and one that does take a bit of getting used to, but once you do begin to understand how time works in this game, it really is a blast to play and the progression system rewards you for playing through, even if you die, which you will die quite a bit when you first start out.
This game is not for everyone, and I am sure it will come down in price soon, so if you are on the fence with this one, I would suggest waiting until it goes on sale to pick it up and give it a try. It is a fun game that is a nice break from the traditional game formula.
Sackboy's Adventure is Just Beginning
**A wonderful, colorful adventure**
Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a ton of fun so far. From what I have seen so far, the game is kind of short, at about 10-15hrs for the single player mode. But if you play with some friends or online and do the different challenges, it could be 30+ hours of fun.
One cool thing about the game is all the different collectables that are scattered all over the world. These collectables make up your wardrobe so you can customize your character into some pretty cool costumes.
I just got this caterpillar outfit that I will be wearing for a while. It is crazy how much detail there is in this game and how cool the different textures are. The different lighting effects across the surfaces and textures is pretty cool looking.
I just fought Vex for the first time. It was a fun fight, but it was pretty easy.
When he was done talking, he blew me out onto some conveyor belts and that was where the fight started.
He would fling bombs out at me and I had to grab them and run up towards the front of the conveyor belts and throw them at him to damage him. You gotta be careful not to get too close to the spikes at the end of the belt, or get thrown off the end of it when Vex changes the directions.
Every now and then he makes flames shoot up from the belts as well. It was a pretty fun fight.
After defeating him, you get access to a rocket ship and have the ability to travel between the different worlds.
It looks like there are 5 different worlds to play through and I have just started The Colossal Canopy, which looks like it will be a tropical world with lots of green.
So far I am really enjoying the game. It is a very creative game with all sorts of cool enemies and world mechanics. The game is taking advantage the new controller and all of the different features that it has, like the gyros inside that when you tilt it, your character will move in different directions.
The music is also pretty awesome in the game. Since Sony has rights to a lot of cool songs, the game has a great soundtrack and the music interacts with the world in some pretty cool ways.
I am well on my way to saving the world and becoming a Knitted Knight.
What an amazing gaming experience
**What does it mean to be alive?**
That is the question that you are going to be asking yourself long after you complete this game. I really love games that have you do some critical thinking about life and Detroit Become Human does this perfectly.
One of the best aspects of this game is its ability to make you care for the characters that you are controlling. The game is told through the eyes of several different androids, but they all have the same basic mission, to be free.
In this game, androids have been created to assist humanity. They have a super advanced AI and at some point, they begin to develop the ability to think for themselves and push back against the abuse of their human counterparts.
For part of the game, you play as an android named Connor that is programmed to help the police investigate these rogue androids. During Connor's story, he struggles with the different choices and his own thoughts of being self aware.
His story gives you some pretty interesting insight on what these androids go through from their humans before they reach their tipping point and turn on them. It is a pretty interesting thought as we move into our own future where artificial intelligence is starting to become more prevalent.
Androids in the sex industry are forced to submit to abuse and there is only so much that they can take before they lash out. As I was playing the game, I could see this type of thing actually happening in the future at some point and the game raises some pretty interesting talking points about consciousness and what it means to be alive.
Depending how you play the game, some of the humans in the story begin to take the side of the robots and begin to see them as beings that deserve freedom and life. The game does an amazing job at making you care for these characters and the chance of losing any of them is just one wrong decision away.
I only lost two of the characters throughout this whole journey, and it was a pretty gut wrenching scene when it happened. Kara is an android whose purpose was to care for a little girl named Alice. During her story, Alice's father beats her and Kara saves her from him and they run off together to try and be free.
They encounter so much resistance along the way, but it just brings them closer as a mother/daughter pair, which is all that either of them want in life. When they were trying to escape from an attack, I ended up selecting some incorrect choices and they got shot, but even in their death, they were happy to just be together and free.
I think the "main" character for the game is Markus, who organizes the androids and serves as a leader for them and inspires hope of being free one day. There are a lot of similarities in the game to events we have seen here in the US, like the Civil Rights movement where African Americans were seen as less than human.
There are different ways that you can play this game as well and each has its own ending. I chose to try and be as peaceful as possible with Markus and to make sure that all the demonstrations were peaceful but you can also choose violence, but that won't get the support of the public and could just cause the humans to push back even harder against the androids.
By the end, I had gained the support of the public and they pressured the military to stand down and the androids were finally seen as a free entity.
One thing I was pretty worried about as I played through the game was that I would need to start the game over from the beginning to be able to see the different story lines that you can play based on the decisions you make. But luckily you are able to select the chapter you want to start from and then play through them to see where you can take the story.
And there are MANY different possibilities that the story can take. Each chapter has a flow chart that shows the direction the game has taken. I am looking forward to playing through the chapters and seeing where the story can go.
This game is one of those that actually demonstrates how your actions early in the game can really affect its outcome. I am not even sure how many different endings there can be because there are a ton of decisions in the game that can affect everything.
Like in this scene above where you are in the evidence room of the police station and you can use the evidence you have collected to try and find out where the location of the android hideout is. I didn't have that much evidence collected and I think there was even one android that was missing that could have given me some information. Luckily I was able to rip the head off of a sex robot and show it to the robots girlfriend and trick her into giving me the location.
The game has some very crazy turns in it and the story is just amazing. The gameplay doesn't have the same type of action that a lot of games have, but the fact that at any moment, you can make a "wrong" decision and mess up the whole outcome of the game is pretty intense and keeps you on your toes.
Overall, this is a beautifully executed game and is one of my top gaming experiences. I really love games like this that draw you in and make you want to continue playing them. It is a very entertaining game with an amazing story that will have you looking into yourself. If you have never played this game, I highly recommend it.
Home workout routine (no excuses)
Hello my dear friends of Read.cash after several months of absence I'm back, I really needed to share my lifestyle with you again. In order to help, motivate and even surprise many people who want to start training and do not know where to start. Whenever we want to define our body or lose weight, it is good to first think about what we are really looking for and how much we have to do to achieve our goal.
I like to be able to train either in the park at home or at the gym, no matter where I can I always relax training and like me many people are passionate about this lifestyle, as I know there are many people who do not know where to start or begin, guys I invite you to read my article maybe it will give you some ideas maybe motivate you and so you can start to carry your own routine that later will serve to regulate your health.
Today I was training at home, well taking advantage of the fact that there are scalars I decided to give it another use than the one that is usually given. A little cardio to help wake up those muscles is not bad. Every workout should start with a good cardio, friends you can not "put speeds even if the car is stopped" so we must first get our body going before starting a full routine, no matter if it will be a leg or biceps routine, it is essential to do cardio.
And why not? Follow after doing cardio, with a routine that strengthens our quadriceps, one of the most important in our leg are the quadriceps, femoral and adductors. If we constantly work these three muscles we may be able to have a good definition in our legs. There is always the person who does not trust himself and doubts that he can achieve benefits training in this way, well I comment and make the clarification that if he can, as long as he intends it and wants it, it is all a matter of fitness. We must be constant with all this training as well as with our diet.
A good training will depend on the care we take with our body, resting the necessary hours and eating the right way, maybe you will not only reach your goal, but you will be surprised to see that the biggest barrier was against yourselves.
In conversation with other colleagues are always present thoughts that really do not help at all, we must be more positive when it comes to do anything we want. In my case, even though I know that something is very difficult to do well. I think positive, I faithfully believe that positive charges attract beneficial things that's why I always try to be positive.
Sancadillas I like to challenge myself is a way to be able to take my body to the maximum, sometimes I know that maybe I did not achieve the maximum but I can try, but as I said before it is all a matter of fitness, perseverance. Many people ask me how do I get good legs? Train! Train! And train! No excuses, in my case I work all day about 10 or 12 hours of work and I get home wanting to train, it seems incredible but I conditioned my body and even having a very strong day in terms of physical wear, I still ended up training and giving the maximum when training and doing my routines.
The benefits of a life with training are many, releasing imprisoned energy after so much mental exhaustion in our work. It is very normal. Let's look for relaxation methods that help to maintain a good mental development.
This exercise does cause me pain but as it strengthens my gluteus, I love to suffer (good sense) to gain benefits clearly we must sacrifice a lot and without resting keep going. My motto has been that for most of my life.
This workout costs 4 reps in sets of 15 to 20. It's a little heavy but since I don't have a recommended weight then it doesn't influence the amount of reps much. That's why it is high and without much difficulty we can do it.
After each series I rest 1 minute and start again with another series of exercises.
Always between repetitions it is good to keep a good control of our breathing. In this way we avoid any major wear and tear and we can continue with our series of exercises.
I really miss being able to give advice and present myself to you as I really am. A woman who loves the army and the good life, fighting for what we want is the first step to achieve any goal.
Mazamorra-Typical Venezuelan sweet during Holy Week
The mazamorra is a sweet that is consumed as traditional at Easter in Venezuela, there are many variations of the recipe, some use directly sewn and ground corn and others use the easiest way which is with precooked corn flour, in some parts of the country people use to add coconut and other spices, I for my part I share the recipe that I learned from my mother and at the same time she learned it from my grandmother.
This dish is sweet but it is very complete because it has ingredients from various food groups, such as corn, milk, the sweet part corresponds to the Papelón, panela or piloncillo that comes from sugar cane. It is very dense and heavy and could replace a complete meal.
In the countryside where I grew up it was a tradition to make Mazamorra as a family, because my father had a farm with goats, during Holy Week a week of respect for the religion was kept, so instead of using the milk for the production of cheese on a daily basis as it was usual, during Holy Week my dad had the tradition of taking the milk only to make Masamorra and to give milk to neighbors and relatives to make mazamorra as well, also no meat was consumed on those days, so on Saturday of glory just before Easter Sunday he killed a goat so that we all ate meat after a whole week without doing so.
**Ingredients /Ingredientes**
½ Kilo corn flour
800 ml of milk
250 grams of papelón
1 cup of sugar
Half a spoonful of aniseed
1 cup of water
½ Kilo de harina de maíz
800 ml de leche
250 gramos de papelón
1 taza de azúcar
Media cucharada de anís
1 Taza de agua
Preparation / Preparación
In a saucepan add the water, the flour little by little dissolving it with a spoon, then add the milk while stirring until the mixture thickens.
En una olla agregar el agua, la harina poco a poco disolviendo con una cuchara, posteriormente agregar la leche sin dejar de remover hasta que la mezcla espese.
Add the complete papelón to the pot and add the aniseed, bring the pot to medium heat. With a spoon or wooden spoon stir the mixture until the papelón and sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture acquires a homogeneous consistency, the cooking time may vary according to the heat of the stove.
Result / Resultado
It is served in plates or cups and allowed to cool to room temperature before eating, although there are people who like it hot, the mazamorra molds to the container that contains it and hardens, so it can even be unmolded and keep its shape. Some people serve it with dulce de leche on top.
Well, I hope you like this traditional recipe from my country Venezuela, especially from my family.
Bueno espero les guste esta receta tradicional de mi país Venezuela en especial de mi Familia.
In union is our destiny / A story to reflect on
Hi guys from read.cash, I can say that at the moment you are the people with whom I have the most interaction, this quarantine does not allow me to go out and I don't feel like going out. Today I want to talk about a story of overcoming. The great thing about this kind of story is how everything happens and everything that people do to achieve their goals.
Jose was always a promising young man and from a very young age he showed great skills in analogy, writing and literature. He was a very promising young man with only 13 years old, he was already in his 9th grade, José was always a boy of few words, quite shy and introverted, he didn't speak more than the right thing, it was very difficult for him to relate, whenever someone started a conversation it was always about exam questions or about solving a mathematical problem, For many people José was always quite strange, he was nicknamed "Brainy" because of his great brilliance, despite not having many friends, José had a friend in common, he didn't study directly with him, Antonio was from another section but they shared the same tastes and had a very mature way of thinking for their age. José and antonio knew how to have fun times, only for them the fun was solving quite advanced maths problems, as well as getting their learning in shape by competing with each other. They knew how to stimulate each other. Although Antonio did not study with José whenever he had free time, they were always together, both had very clear objectives, about what they wanted to do when they became adults.
José wanted to be a system engineer, to be able to develop his own software, for José there was no other way to see his future than programming and developing technological tools capable of changing the way we see things. For Jose the path was not the best, his parents were very modest people, they did not have the economic solvency to help him in his studies and Jose knew that if he wanted to get to study what he wanted first had to get some money to pay for their studies.
José had a knack for technology, he knew how to repair almost any electrical equipment, so he started working in his garage repairing technological devices. On the other hand, Antonio had the economic capacity to study wherever he wanted, his parents had a fairly comfortable economic position, so he would have no problem when it came to going to university. Antonio knew about José's economic problems, so he decided to help him without any cost, for Antonio it only mattered that his partner could raise money and achieve his dream.
The path of these two young men was just beginning to come together, months passed and the two young men became very practical in electronic repair, so much so that they managed to make a fairly considerable clientele, oblivious to the door that was opening to both young men innocently did not realize the possibility that existed to open a business in a local own repairers. One day José began to think about his breakthrough in the repair business and told Antonio that perhaps they should think about opening their business together, as they would have enough financial solvency to be able to develop their dreams. Although Antonio didn't really need to do something like that, the companionship he felt for his friend made him want to keep helping no matter what, Antonio said to José, "That sounds like an excellent idea José.
Jose knew that his friend was not looking for money, but if he wanted to get to the top, their goals were different, for Antonio his goal was to achieve what his father, develop a company by himself. For this he counted on José, a young man with exceptional abilities. Several months would pass and José and Antonio were already on the verge of opening their business, then began what would be the common problem between these two young men, to reach an agreement. They had many unnecessary clashes so to speak but clashes nonetheless, something was not right, the lack of coordination between the two young men was leading to the business that was very new to have no fruit...
So, Antonio says to José, I want to buy you out, I don't see any future working together.
For Jose this was very painful, his friend and partner was determined to keep what they had both built with so much effort, Jose just looked at Antonio and said; if you want the business for yourself so much, then keep it, I am not going to lose your friendship that has cost me years. I'm not going to lose the one person who has cheated me through thick and thin.
Antonio didn't know what to say, his soul friend had given him a unique example of life that only those who truly appreciate and love do. Antonio doesn't understand at what point he lost the sense of everything they had fought for to get there. So he simply turned his back on José and left. Antonio had to think with a cool head about what had happened, so for several days he didn't want to go to see José at work. Until he made that decision. Antonio arrives at the business and looks for Jose, they both knew that for the good of the business they had to come to an end that would favour them both. Antonio says to him; Jose you have demonstrated to have the capacity to be able to lead a company, I want you to be the one who takes the management of our business. José wordlessly said to Antonio; I doubt I have the ability you say I do, but if you have enough faith in me to put all our work in my hands, I will not let you down.
Antonio had acted like a true businessman, he knew that his best friend and partner had the necessary capacity to be able to take the reins of the business, he knew that if he left his friend in charge of everything, he would not only have a partner, he would have his best friend as the undisputed leader of the business. In other words, he could bet his entire fortune on his business knowing that the man who was going to be in charge was going to give his all. It was a smart move for Antonio.
José began to lead the business intelligently, and within a matter of months they had to open another location due to the strong demand. With José's university studies nearing completion, he was able to use his knowledge and develop software that would take care of encrypting all the equipment data and then be able to restore it whenever he wanted without losing any data. Over the years Jose turned the business into the largest company in his country, a company that for many would be known as "Advanced Technology" for its high development in software, these two young men had to go through many things to get to where they were, but above all they decided to always put friendship before anything else.
Moral: for many people friendship is just wasting time, for others friendship is the way to great advances in our lives, we can help each other, maybe we do not have the same goals but if a common goal, we all want to reach those ends, united the road becomes smoother, I do not say easy, because there is no such thing, the truth most of the things cost and because they cost then we will know how to take care of it. No matter how difficult our objectives are, if you have partners talk to them, look for ideas, it is always good to have more than one perspective, so you can decide which is the most appropriate. But friends, in the Union there is STRENGTH♡
My story is based on facts, it's not entirely true, but what is true is that friendship comes first and then comes the rest. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES.
A thinking guerrero
A true warrior knows that life is a constant struggle with himself, a true warrior recognises who his enemy is, above all a true warrior understands when he has been defeated and has the dignity to accept his defeat.
Although it may seem like a mythical tale, we are warriors constantly fighting battles, our battles are internal, that is to say, how difficult it is to be able to accept when we are not at peace with ourselves, even when we have been defeated or when we have decided to stop fighting. The truth is the most difficult of all this is to accept the reality of things, however simple it may seem, it is the most complicated art. How many times have we thought that we have done something that we have regretted? Probably many times, if it is true, there will always be something that we will regret having commented or worse, something that we have done and does not leave us in peace, as silly as it may seem, many times our life remains high because of this type of situations, processes of the mind that remain open torment us daily and that we do not have the strength to bring it to reality and end once and for all with that situation that has marked us.
Worse still, I have friends who have drowned in a bucket of water for not knowing how to face and accept these situations, but as a warrior we must learn to know ourselves better and be able to study our enemy better so that we have a chance of getting out of the hole we are in. But what happens if we don't fully understand what is happening to us? We don't always understand certain circumstances, but that's why it's good to be able to try to understand ourselves better, our response to a large extent comes from a stimulus, so our behaviour will always be produced by something that has generated it, even the most macabre ones have an explanation.
I have always been a fan of the @Samurai, probably because of the type of culture they had, they were very wise people and above all knowledgeable about nature, they understood that we are a very complex being that should be studied and that there were processes that went beyond our understanding, based on these hypotheses they came up with a unique lifestyle, unmatched, these men were truly forged to the same size, great warriors, mainly of the mind, first they had to know themselves, they studied their weaknesses, but from them they got their greatest virtues. It is really exciting when we talk about true connoisseurs of the human being.
Very often similar things always happen to us, all this happens because we really enter into a vicious process or vicious circle, we like to fall into the same thing all the time, we also get used to being in several places at the same time, but why does this happen? It really has to do with our level of attention, there comes a point where we get used to be thinking one thing and doing another, probably nothing we do will go well, so how important it is to pay attention to what we are doing. That is one of the things of the samurai, they were people who perfected the level of attention and above all concentration, they were very methodical but able to achieve it IMPOSSIBLE all this because of their great character.
But how difficult it is to forge the character, the truth is not, it is a matter of habit, it all depends on the frequency in which we do things, also how we manage our level of leisure, so can we become people with a good character? Of course we can, the basis of all good development must be forged as well as character, but you have to be a little strict with yourself.
Children... Children in the early stages are very observant and use imitation as their first skill. First of all they don't know their environment and nothing around them, that's why they are so aware of everything, they learn where and how things are, how to get to them and if they can do it, they will do it. This has a lot to do with their attention span being higher.
But what makes a samurai warrior so special? Basically nothing, what is special is our abilities, maybe some of us use them more than others along the way, what counts are the times we decided to go around the stone instead of stumbling over it, the times we learned that something was wrong and that it was not good to keep repeating the same thing, the young man who said so many bad things and none of them were true, the one who preferred to offend for fear of accepting the reality of things, the one who once lied and got used to live in lies. The truth is that there are many of us who decide day by day whether to be warriors or just pretend to be warriors for fear of being judged.
A magical place
My upbringing is quite different from the people of the city, starting with the way of living day to day, from an early age, I was taught that the man who is born in the land of the plains, by their culture, is quite hardworking, getting up early to start the work of the day to day. It seems simple, but the character that this forges is quite strong, no matter how your day has been, if you feel bad or do not want to do anything. You have duties and we must fulfill them, as difficult as it may seem, that's how it is. I remember well, I had to get up early in, at that time my duties were like cleaning the yard, watering the bushes, arranging my room, keeping everything in order, feeding the animals (chickens, pigs, sheep) seems easy work, maybe? For a 10 year old boy this was already a pretty complete job. As the years went by, my chores became bigger and bigger, sweeping the yard, keeping the cowshed clean, cleaning my room, keeping the barn clean, I started milking the cattle, and I had to be a kind of veterinarian, taking care of the animals, as such.
A day like this, brings many memories, since in this fishing trip, was a person who is no longer with us in the world of the living, on the one hand, I can say that this day was completely different from a normal fishing day, we had to walk for hours rolling to get to a camp, after arranging everything in the camp, we went fishing at night, if my memory serves me correctly, it was about an hour walking through a jungle that we did not know, we only trusted a guide, there was no signal to use GPS. It really was a unique experience, the only bad thing about this day was that we did not catch many fish for the time we had walking, what several guys did manage to do was to get drunk and live a unique experience.
There are things that make a picture unique, as in the case of this photo, the lens of the cell phone and the flash of the same, made a kind of ring that makes it look like a kind of rainbow, in the immense quiet das that generates this river, accompanied by stories of roads, to spend the night, with a campfire next door, with friends and family was one of the best moments of my life, perhaps because I was not very used to.
I also remember that we went fishing downstream that night, looking for some catfish but we were not very lucky again, it is not very easy, this fishing. You have to be especially patient, and experience is essential, to know when a fish has taken the line, it's a matter of practice, sometimes you don't feel it, you end up losing your bait without even noticing it.
The next day with the best disposition we continue trying to fish again, as I mentioned before you must have a lot of patience when fishing, although the fishing is quite slow. There is not much movement of big fish, we are about to start thinking that there are no big ones, so we will go upstream in search of a lagoon which is said to be quite deep, probably there we will find some big ones, or at least that is what we thought. Things don't always turn out the way we think, but we have to be positive.
Although the weather was quite pleasant, the humidity began to do its thing, the heat was becoming unbearable and, what seemed bearable, was no longer so, at times I just wanted to be at home, without so much heat, but well we must endure what was necessary, it was only a few days. And a day totally different from what we were used to.
After walking for quite a while, we arrived at a lagoon that I mentioned a while ago and we found this magnificent view, impressive this image, reflected in the water. I love this, no doubt being in an explanation only reaffirmed what I feel for this kind of places, it is beautiful.
Here we had better luck, despite the fact that everything seemed contrary, after several hours, the actions began and the fish began to eat, they pulled out big fish.
Here we lasted a little more than 4 hours, and then we went home. To cook, we can't complain, mother earth was quite good to us in providing us with food.
After arriving home and arranging all the luggage, we didn't really go very far, we stayed that night at a ranch of someone very well known to my dad, he invited us to spend the night.
This night she did not come alone, she brought with her a companion, a beautiful bull, very tame, I dthink that more than a dog, you could ride him and nothing would happen, to enjoy things like this, to be in contact with animals like these, it fills you with full life, something incredible really.
The beautiful thing about nature is that everything has an attraction, whether it is the birds singing, the bees looking to collect honey, the ants working as always to bring food, the cattle looking to get together and between all of them to take care of predators, the milking cows calling their calves. The sound of man making a daily living on this immense plain. Everything has its own beauty. 😍
I could not miss a photo with my colleagues, here it was in a different place, it was in a llanero dawn, that is, it is a kind of event where people attend to hear other people sing, the music time is llanera as such some of the singers who attended were.
Vitico Castillo
Jorge Guerrero
Teo Galindez
Reynaldo Armas
Fernando Tovar
Luis Silva
All these are the best exponents of folklore (llanera music). This dawn was the best because I could listen to the best of the best. Sharing with my loved ones, drinking lots of rum, enjoying this night to the fullest.
The "llanero" of Venezuela has a very different culture than the city dweller or well I guess everywhere this cultural difference is obvious. The nice thing about each country is that there are people who still support our culture as is the llanero music, the old school upbringing, the man who works and not the lazy one who does not like to do anything or does not know how to do anything. The lifestyle is also very peculiar, we are people who spend most of the day working in the llano no matter what.
For a completely different society
In a sea of sensations I can live my life thinking that everything happens but nothing happens, the days are passing and I am still waiting for a change, a change that may never come, to reach a goal seems quite difficult in the society we are seeing these days, we have become selfish, so much to the point that we are unable to help those who really need to be helped. The poor man who lives on the streets who tucks himself in cardboard and his bed is nothing but cold wet ground. He may have more goodness than many. It does not seem human to think that we are on the way to a cataclysmic devolution, though it is unlikely. If we are living in a completely apathetic society, we do not care about the welfare of anyone else, only our own, although we are going against our own principles.
Human beings are good from birth, or so say the experts. What is happening then? A credible explanation is that parents at home are teaching them in the middle what values are, this new generation brings with it great challenges, it will not be easy for them, because the world is not a safe place. And they are losing the sense of giving without expecting anything in return.
Another explanation may be the lack of affection, parents today prefer to have their children on a phone or tablet to spend time with them, this great damage is not only done to themselves as a family, society is who pays the lack of affection, people with lack of affection who do not really know what it is, go out into the world trying to be what their parents taught them. That the important thing was for them to be well, regardless of others.
The environment is a great determinant of the personality, if the person has a good education and values from the bosom of the family, will be prepared to receive external stimulation, that is to say, at the moment that they begin to interact with other people, continues developing their personality. The person tends to approach groups that will have similar traits or similarities to him.
In the colors of love, I would choose red, passion should surround us to make us understand that the solution has so many problems today is to be united, as long as society is united good things will come out ...
In a dark night, we can only see the moon that shines its brightness on our face, it tells us that no matter how much darkness there is, she is trying to take care of us all, it is not necessary to be very intelligent to understand that nature itself is talking to us shouting with speakers at full wind, that this pandemic is a challenge, that the only solution is the unity of all equally. Regardless of anyone, as a single organism until the end.
I have always said that love can kill us, but it can also revive us, those who have lost loved ones and, having fallen into an eternal night, have nothing left, alone and cold, in a corner of darkness, those who have nowhere to go, their only companion is the sound of rodents, a cold that freezes all bones, a loneliness that drives the healthiest crazy. Those who find themselves in a bed, with no one who can give them support and tell them that "everything is going to be ok" and others on the other hand living a totally different life and, are unable to think that they can donate some blankets those people who are in the streets, or be able to go and visit some sick person, no matter if they do not cosmic it maybe that person does not care if they know you or not, but just wants to be visited. Or the one who feels that he/she has lost everything, maybe he/she wants to hear just a few words of encouragement.
"Today we walk aimlessly, in the directions we are looking for there is no coherent one, everything happens for one reason, what we cannot change is our past, past we must let you go, I will bet on the future of the future."
No matter from where we can help, the important thing is to be able to try, it is not necessary to be a millionaire, it is not necessary to have a few pesos to spare, it is only necessary to have the desire to want to help, with that you can do everything else. To be human is to be generous, and the first step of being generous is not to be generous with your loved ones, it is to be able to help someone you don't know, no matter if you get something in return.
We can start part of the solution, we can start by doing good deeds, you don't need to be in the press, you don't need to publish it in the networks, because you just want to help without caring about getting something in return. Communism? This is a magnificent theory, the truth is that if it were to happen in practice as in theory, the world would be a different place. We all know it can't be, but it is good to be able to read, to educate ourselves, to understand so many behavioral patterns, the reasons for so many things. Do not stay with what you already know, search, become a book eater. Not to know a lot, but to know a lot, let's learn to use wisdom in the right way, we cannot hammer a nail by the handle. It's time to do things right.
"In a mystical place, challenges my joy, joy I feel to see you smile, smile I wish I could always see you, times that are going away and I can't find the way, way I will keep looking no matter how hard, hard things will come and I like it better, further I will go on and I will not rest."
Because if we rest we lose and it is not in me to lose, I will fight until many people hear me, read me, listen to me. We must become emitters of a new world.
The loss of a loved one
The loss of someone we appreciate and are used to always seeing is not something easy to process, the grief we face when we lose someone we love has no word or name to describe so much pain. To be able to grieve, accepting that we will no longer have that person is hard enough, especially when the person has earned our total appreciation.
We can meet many people in the path of life, but how easy it is to be able to tell who really earn our most sincere affection, it is not easy to accept that someone, who was seen with so much life to live and fabric to cut has ended up going in another direction, even worse, the feeling of loss is not equalized with anything, the emptiness we feel has no name, nothing fills it, nothing calms you and we just want to be alone. Thinking at what moment everything happened, the truth was so fast that we did not realize that he has already left, this is how it always happens.
Today someone special has left, unfortunately this pandemic has not allowed me to see her, I regret not being able to be in such a difficult moment, I regret much more that you are gone and I could not give you a last hug. Remembering you as you were will be my greatest joy, I have always said that if we want to immortalize someone, the easiest way is in the portrait of our mind, there remains intact, goodbye to the woman who one day helped me become a better person, I will always be able to say that I had the opportunity to meet an angel, but even more I can say that I have met the most warrior woman I have ever seen in my life.
It will not be easy for me to accept that you have gone to a place where I cannot go, I will be able to look for you in my dreams and remember those moments when we used to have fun.
Life's paths are hard enough to accept, the worst thing is having to accept that no matter how much we do, sooner or later, we will all go to the same place. My thought about this is that we must be free, enjoy and be ourselves, from this wonderful woman I could learn that it is worthless to repress our emotions, it is worthless to try to be who we are not to be liked, if in the essence of each one of us, we are unique and original, there is no need to lie to ourselves thinking that we can go through life pretending something we are not.
In you woman, I can say that you really are wisdom in my path, to lose the sense of having lost myself was the slowest death I had lived, to be able to be born again and end the dark past in which I had become.
It makes me think what a dark lie I was living, being able to know myself better has given me the courage to say that I am not the same as anyone else and I don't try to pretend what I am not... I lived a bitter stage in which I did not know how good it is to be original.
To be able to recognize that I have been reborn again, is to be able to say that I did not know what it was to live, until this moment. That's how raw my reality has been, when I found out in the bitter mask I had on my face, no more, today I am free. Today I can say I have won this battle.
For those people who read my articles, a brief description
Like me, I know that there are many people thinking that they have known everything about life, thinking that nothing escapes them, well today I want to tell you and, if you find out that all your life you have lived a lie, that your mind knew how to move your cards, all for your welfare, this is normal, it is a process in which, In my case I suffered the loss of a loved one many years ago, my mind created an alternate reality, which led me to suffer a series of behavioral patterns that were not normal, today I am someone completely healthy, I had to undergo psychotherapy. It was not easy, I had to understand to enter into a process of acceptance, at the moment I accepted my reality, in that precious moment my life changed completely, I can not believe that for so many years I lived in different ways and thought unimaginable things.
We see so many people around the world trying to be something they are not, losing their essence and becoming cheap copies of more of the same.
"Though the road be in the weeds, though thy will be broken, though thy future be clouded" You are alive!
The relationship between parents and their children and the teaching of values
When it comes to raising our children, as parents we will always want to give them the best, in most cases parents try to give them what we could not have, at other times we try to just pamper and forget how important it is to raise our children in balance.
Balancing all of this will depend to a great extent on the way we raise our children. There should always be a give and take, give to receive. This builds the child's character from a young age, where he/she must fight for what he/she wants to receive later on. We must make the most of it, when they are in full development of their personality, since they are a sponge, they absorb everything more easily and their retention ability is greater.
Regarding the overprotection that we should have with our children, the healthiest thing is that the child can experience in a prudent way the environment in which he is, interacting with other children will help him to have a greater ability to relate to other children. It will also help him to understand more easily that he will not always be with his parents, he will have to go to kindergarten, school and other institutions.
As the identity process is developing in the first years of the child's life, he will have a greater projection with one of the parents, in the case of a girl, he will be more in tune with the mother's side, but if it is a boy, he will look for the father. In the same way, this does not mean that the child does not feel attachment to his mother or vice versa. What we must take into account is, when the opposite happens to the child's sex and its attachment is not the correct one. Then, we must teach which is the child's sex, obviously later on.
The quality of life that we can give him does not have to be directly linked to our economic part, it is important to recognize that it is quality of life, that is to say, the most important thing in this case is that the child has everything necessary in terms of care and the most important needs. Such as food, good stimulation, keeping the child clean, vitamins, cleanliness, and feeling safe.
Part of the great increase of murders, mistreatment, violence that is being observed, is a product of lack of affection that probably these people since childhood has marked them, the lack of affection in childhood as well as sexual aggressions, are the main detonators of so many pathologies developed in adolescence. That is to say, what happens to us in childhood marks us for the future... Love, it is of great importance that the child feels loved, in a home where there is no lack of affection, will have a positive reinforcement in the child, a loved child will have better performance when studying, will feel more enthusiastic when learning.
When it comes to educate our children we must always take into account that education is not only studying, education as its name says is to educate from an early age, instilling values, that is, respect, sincerity, honesty, simplicity. There is an effective way to involve the child, with values, through role playing. A child does not understand terms, but if they are very intelligent and experts in repeating things, then, by changing roles, we can transmit education in a didactic, creative and enthusiastic way.
An anecdote that I can comment; I remember that a few days ago I had the opportunity to meet a child, I am (Counselor) in an institution, this child of only about 7 years, tells me that at home her parents are not with her at the time of doing her homework, then, I asked, who supervises you? To which she replied, no one, but your homework is perfectly fine, it just so happens that my parents don't have time to be with me, so I have nothing else to do, just my homework to show them that I can do it alone, so when they can, they will set aside time for me.
It is not easy to hear a child say this, it also shows how motivated they can be to want the affection and attention of their parents. Those people who are parents, if they have a lot of work, we must leave time for the biggest project of their life. It is their children. The basis of life, what gives sense of existence, we must be more aware of our behavior towards them. They just want to be loved at this stage and feel that their parents are looking out for them. (attention)
In order to succeed in educating our children, we must create a bond, where trust is the basis of everything, where the child can feel at ease, if you get your child to trust you, you can get a lot out of it. Take note: aggression only brings aggression, it is not necessary to hit to impose, we can do it through what the child likes, as I said before, in a game of give and take, if the child behaves well we can reward him, if the opposite happens, then, it is not rewarded.
Finally, when reprimanding, do not use vulgar words, do not raise your voice, because this will only mark them, so much so that tomorrow they will probably be someone with an unbalanced personality, an impulsive, explosive person.... Mistreatment is not only physical, the worst mistreatment is the one that is given verbally, it hurts more and marks much more. So watch your words, avoid saying bad words in front of your children.
May your day be as good as mine, may your day be as healthy as your food. Happy day. Take care, in times of pandemic it is always good to be united.
Being an entrepreneur in times of crisis.
When we talk about entrepreneurs who have achieved their goals and the way in which they have succeeded, many questions come to mind, such as: How did they achieve it? Perhaps for many of us it seems difficult to get to where they are, perhaps we see it as impossible, but that is why we do not dare to undertake precisely. It is the way we see things, how complicated and all the mishaps that come our way if we try, just the thought ends up killing the desire to even start.
It often happens that we give up without having started, this is very common and what happens with those who have succeeded, is that they manage to see opportunity where we see challenges. This has a lot to do with the way in which we ask ourselves the questions in question.
They are not different from us, they are not smarter or stronger, they do not come from another planet, they practice something that we do not, being an entrepreneur is much more than having thought about getting ahead by yourself, you need a lot of dedication, you need to be perseverant, to see beyond what others do not, always being optimistic and much more assertive with what we really want, we must take into account that all projects must be seen in different ways, short, medium and long term. And if you want to be an entrepreneur and not fail in the attempt, you must evaluate; first what you really want to do at the time of undertaking, you must have knowledge of what is going to come in the future, we must also be aware of the difficulties that separates us and, above all must be constant and persevering when embarking on the road.
Why I say that we must be constant, maybe things are not given to us at the first moment, many entrepreneurs who have succeeded, have had to first fall many times, feel in the flesh what it is to have failed on some occasions, based on this principle, knowing to the depths of failure, only then, we can succeed in the future.
Being perseverant, because knowing that things are not optimal at some point, always having a positive attitude of what is expected at some point will happen. That is what makes the difference.
Since we are small, we are being formed and we are learning where we feel comfortable, but what happens if you are taken out of your comfort, there is a change and now you have to play another role that you were not used to, what happens at that moment? We simply feel fear, we become anxious, desperate and insecurities enter, then we decide to give up because we can not bear this anguish produced by the change. This is how we act on a daily basis, where a successful entrepreneur has had to embark on his path, without knowing what lies ahead, without counting on anything but himself, knowing that his best weapon is not to give up without having tried everything.
That is the big difference of why these people achieve their goals, if they have reached the crossroads of life and have decided to follow the most difficult path, the one that has many obstacles, the one that nothing is clear, dark, cold and very long. But this does not deter them and they go ahead. Their thinking is strong, their mental strength is stronger and their desire to succeed is the strongest.
Times change, many have suffered these changes and have entered into despair, anguish, anxiety, panic in some cases madness.... They are monotonous (routine) people and as certain philosophers say, all change generates conflict. They can do nothing more than to remain observing and they do not manage to do anything, on the other hand, some have taken risks, they are afraid, probably, yes. But they know and understand that they must keep trying and never give up...
I like to be able to write, I am not really the best, but I try to be very assertive when I want to transmit this knowledge. All the above mentioned I have written it myself, starting from my experience and thoughts. The reason that led me to write this article, is to guide, also to invite those people who want to embark on this path, do not have to think about it so much, remember who does not risk does not win. It is worth fighting, it is worth trying. Happy day my friends.
Protection of children's emotions from covid-19
In times like the one we are living in, where the environment is totally hostile, it is vital to be able to protect children's emotions, especially when transmitting information that is possibly not accurate for them to hear, in addition to the fact that their cognitive maturity is not yet adequate and they are not yet prepared to receive such hard news.
As I mentioned before, a child's maturity is not yet able to understand social, economic and biological aspects. In such a case, whenever we talk to them we always refer to the virus with euphemisms, such as. Calling the virus "invisible bugs" or if someone is sick we refer to it as "malita". While it is true that they do not contribute to the knowledge of knowledge, we protect them emotionally.
In the last few days, the only thing we hear and talk about everywhere is covid, but are we really having contact with the children? We have to remember that they are also not studying, they can't go out to play and they can't go out to visit.... They cannot process all this in the same way that we adults do, being exposed to develop anxiety and fears due to the uncertainty, it is important to clarify that I am referring to children from 3 to 6 years old.
For this reason, it is important to dedicate time to them, to be able to have conversations where we can solve their questions, in most cases, therapists say that although children do not fully understand certain terminology, we must learn to have conversations with them in which they can do it, that is to say, in a language more appropriate to them. This will facilitate the attention process.
Some ways to enter into the language of a child, are the games where they develop more ability to interact, they can also do it through stories, although a story educates them as well as captures their attention, to avoid that these children have direct or prolonged interaction for so long on what is happening, would only aggravate things.
One way to protect them is to teach them to have habits that are in favor of their well-being, for example. Washing hands always, is not only that they learn, but they can also encourage other children that a way to protect us is to take care of ourselves, always emphasizing the importance of maintaining these habits not only at home, but also in restaurants, school and other places. Character must be forged from an early age, knowing how to protect oneself more than a habit should become a duty, it is not only to take care of ourselves, but to take care of the integrity of all those who live and have communication with the child.
Children in general are exposed to all kinds of germs, because they are always in direct contact with the floor and bringing their hands to their mouths, touching all kinds of surfaces and do not have the necessary hygiene. The same thing happens today with the virus, if it is well known the covid-19 virus does not affect mostly children, but it makes them transmitters of it, so to speak, the virus uses them as transport to reach other people.... And all because they have the least protection.
Instead of wanting to prevent the child from having contact with certain things, you should teach them what to do if they have contact with any object, as we mentioned before, knowing that they should wash their hands at all times seems a fairly simple habit, what is difficult is that they really make it a habit, so the importance at the time of wanting to convey the information, nothing better than setting an example.
We must remember that when our children are so young, their language is still developing and their learning at this stage is done through imitation. Being able to set a good example not only helps them to have a clearer idea of what to do, but I will do it exactly as we do it.
If we educate our children today, we could avoid scolding the man of tomorrow, a good foundation from home strengthens self-esteem, good stimulation, promotes greater development when performing any task, and these children end up being born leaders.
It has been a real pleasure to be able to make this review of the importance of protecting our children today more than ever. And the best way is to teach them the right thing to do from a very early age. Character is forged, temperament is hereditary. One does not work without the other, both are emotionally charged within each person. But while in temperament is inherited, it is the environment who finishes giving the touch to our personality. The realization of this blog is of informative type Happy day 🎇💕.
