These are the words of Lord Henry in " The picture of Dorian Gray written by Oscar Wilde . Here Lord Henry means that he would rather be joke of London or have a hideous rumor spread around about him than have others not talk of him at all . When I read these lines I found it quite relatable to me and my peers . Like Lord Henry we all are hedonistic . Whether we are in home , on working site or even in public places such as market or hospital we all want attention of the people present there .We always makes sure that we are talked about . We want the world to revolve around us but sadly the world around the Sun .
