It is not uncommon for children to become involved in their parents' jobs as they grow up, especially if their jobs are in the theater and film industries. For decades, directors have been filming their own children in front of the camera. Some may say that this is not fair, but for some, using children is a reasonable and right thing to do, which sometimes reduces additional costs. Why spend time finding an actor when your child is ready to act?

Sometimes these directors gave their children a chance and it became a launching pad for them to be known in the cinema and go on other projects. It seems unfair and a kind of rent, because the entertainment industry is a cruel world and getting into it is one of the hardest jobs in the world. But in any case, you should use every help you can to achieve your goal.

Here are 11 directors who played their sons and daughters and took them in front of their film cameras.

1. Richard Linklater

When it comes to making a film over a decade, it is very difficult, if not impossible, to find actors who have been in the service of the project for so long. When Richard Linkelter was casting for "Boyhood," he had the chance that his daughter, Lorraine, happened to be a talented actor. Lorraine plays Mason's older sister in the film, and because she is close to the subject matter and atmosphere of the project, she is very natural and close to reality. When you see him, you feel like he is himself and we are watching a video from Richard Linklater's home movie.

2. Ron Howard

Ron Howard starred as Andy Griffith in his childhood. So it is natural that he passed on his acting talent to his daughter Bryce Dallas Howard. Bryce's first roles were in his father's films. In the 2001 film A Beautiful Mind, Bryce played a Harvard student. But many years have passed since then, and Bryce Dallas Howard has become a successful actor, appearing in blockbusters such as "Jurassic World" and series such as "Black Mirror."

3. Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith's life is very much inspired by different things. He has chosen her daughter's name inspired by the world-famous negative character Harley Quinn, and many of the female characters in his films are also influenced by his daughter. Harley Quinn Smith has appeared in many of his father's films. Including "Clerks 2" and "Elephant Ivory" (Tusk). Her most recent appearance was in "Jay and Silent Bob Reboot." It seems that every film that Kevin Smith makes, his daughter also plays in it.

4. Ernie Lively

"Gossip Girl" star Blake Lively won her first movie role for her father. Ten-year-old Blake Lively starred in his father's 1998 fantasy film Sandman. Although this movie is completely forgotten and not much information is available about it, But Blake Lively continued on her way and she is now a popular movie star who is also married to Ryan Reynolds. She played her first major role in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and was a high school girl at the time.

5. Alfred Hitchcock

The same thing happened in the time of Alfred Hitchcock. The filmmaker used his daughter in "Strangers on a Train," "Stage Fright" and even "Psycho". Psychologically, Patricia Hitchcock plays Caroline, Marion Crane's co-worker in the office. Caroline is the one who gives Marion the tranquilizers she took on her wedding night. Patricia also starred in 10 episodes of her father, "Alfred Hitchcock Presents."

6. Bruce Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow is now a famous star and had many films in her repertoire before starring in her father's "Duets" in 2000. In Bruce Paltrow's Roads, his daughter plays Leo, Ricky Dean's daughter. Liu and Ricky even sing Smokey Robinson in karaoke somewhere in the movie, and Gwyneth got a chance to show off her singing skills. Duet was Bruce Paltrow's last film, and he died in 2002.

7. Ivan Wrightman

Ivan Wrightman rose to fame with his films Ghostbusters. He used his credit to bring his son Jason to a number of his projects. Jason Wrightman appeared in "Father's Day", "Dave" and the most famous "Ghost Hunters 2". But Jason Wrightman went on to become an actor and became a very successful director and producer. He made films such as "Juno" and "High in the Sky" and was nominated for four Oscars.

8. John Houston

The legendary director John Houston, best known for making films such as The Maltese Falcon, played his daughter Angelica in a number of films, some of which were more successful than others. "A Walk with Love and Death", made in 1969, did not sell well, and Angelica later said in an interview that she did not like the role very much and felt that her screenplay was too sentimental. But John Houston continues to portray Angelica in his films, and later made Prizzi's Honor, for which Angelica won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

9. Francis Ford Coppola

Sophia Coppola is best known for the films she has directed, but she also had the opportunity to star in the third part of The Godfather for her father. Sophia Coppola had short roles in one or two films. After Winona Ryder was unable to appear in Godfather 3 due to illness, Coppola went to his daughter to play the daughter of Michael Corleone. Coppola was widely criticized at the time, and most were upset that he had a party and played his daughter. He also played a very bad game, which added to the anger of the people. Fortunately, Sophia Coppola was more successful in directing and screenwriting, and most of her films did well at festivals and garnered critical acclaim.

10. Christopher Nolan

Christopher Nolan's films usually do not have many child characters. However, he managed to bring his children to his films. In fact, we have seen all four of his children in his works. His son Rory is one of the students sitting on the school bus in the famous scene of Paul Gotham, which we see late in the film, in The Dark Knight Rises. In "Interstellar," we see Nolan's girls in the back of a van, where the situation on Earth has worsened. In "Indoctrination", Cobb (DiCaprio) is played by his son Nolan. But more interestingly, Nolan names his projects after his sons and daughters during production. For example, the title Dark Knight Rises at the time of production was "Magnus Rex", which was inspired by the name of his son Magnus.

11. Clint Eastwood

Clint Eastwood does not shy away from having her children in front of her movie cameras. Kimber Lane, Morgan, Katherine and Allison are all members of the Eastwood family who have had brief appearances in their father's films. But we all know Scott Eastwood best, who starred in "Gran Torino," "Fathers of Our Fathers," and "Invincible." But Scott Eastwood said the maps were not ready and he had to test them out like everyone else. Even on the stage in Gran Torino, their father-son relationship has made Eastwood tougher and he has endured difficult situations.
