Consensus of Life: How Shared Agreements Shape Our Future Rarely does the world present anything more or less worthy than acceptability for cohabitation. This is the life consensus. That doesn't mean everyone has to be identical; it is a matter of finding enough common interests to allow us to forge ahead together. Think about it: whether it means sharing family chores, abiding by traffic rules in a city, or forging global agreements on peace and climate change, everything is a matter of consensus.
Why does the world so badly need this? Because in the absence of this, life becomes a quest for dominance. With respect to consensus, we lessen conflict, secure peace, and celebrate uniqueness. The world becomes so colorful because it is itself diverse, and the concept of consensus celebrated that diversity as a strength. This is hurt the most in light of globally shared challenges, be they warfare, energy crises, or the environment: consensus is the pathway that connects diversified interests. Consensus back then is not signing and signing nor speeches pronouncing them on international podiums; it is a living awareness that we are all interconnected and interdependent. You feel the energy when people from different ethnicities sit down, listen to each other and agree to walk a path together. The middle ground of life is what keeps civilization alive. It teaches that differences are not obstacles, but strengths in order to move forward and survive. Therefore if we want a better world, we cannot just think of "me." We have to think in terms of "us." Only of consensus stands humanity strong, shall it live in peace, and carry hope to the future. Perhaps this will be the greatest truth-all that aside, wherever we come from, whatever we believe, we are one on this planet, on the same air, sharing tomorrow. That difference is the reminder that comes with consensus: it reminds that our destinies are tied together-and that the choice to walk in unity is the choice to keep the flame of humanity burning bright.
