The DeFi company KyberSwap has announced full support for the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) of the Ethereum blockchain.

As known, the ENS service allows associating a name to an ETH address in order to avoid having to remember a string of random numbers and letters. Each ENS has the extension .eth, as it is based on the Ethereum blockchain. Recently the same Vitalik Buterin started using this system, as evidenced on his own Twitter profile.

Clearly, the ENS system functions also for sending and receiving funds. Imagine all those situations where, for example, it is necessary to provide an ETH address and to this end, all the numbers and letters that make it up should be remembered by heart.

This system is not supported by all wallets: most still need the normal address to send or receive funds. The KyberSwap wallet has added the possibility to use ENS for transferring or receiving tokens based on the ETH blockchain, i.e. those that follow the ERC20 or ERC223 standard.

KyberSwap is already available on all platforms and therefore on the desktop version for Chrome, as an iOS application and as an Android application.

A website based on Ethereum

Recently, there was also the first uncensored website based on the Ethereum blockchain, opened by two Italian developers who wanted to test the ENS domain system, which in this case is used to override the centralised DNS (Domain Name Service).

The project is still in the research and development phase and Robe’s team hopes to collaborate with the ENS team, Metamask and web3js to simplify the use of Robe in all browsers, thereby promoting applications resilient to censorship.
