What is a sentence? It is drived from a latin word of "sententia" which means tought or an opinion. Sentence is a complete unit of a language which has saubject, a predicate,and which gives a complete sence or meaning. Main parts of a sentence: Subject: The person or thing we are talking about is called subject....or what a predicate talks about is called subject. Ex: Ali plays cricket. Predicate: A part of sentence talking about the subject is called perdicate. Predicate is a verb but somtimes more than verb. Note: The important part of predicaete is the verb. EX: We study. She eats mango Object: A noun or pronoun representing the person or thing that something is done to is called object. EX: We built the house(The house is ob) Complement: A word or phrase that follows a verb and deacribes tha subject of the verb. Ex: john became chairman(chairman is complement) Tense: The eord of tense is drived or taken from the latin word of Tempus, Which means, Time. A form of a verb, which indicates whether the action of the verb happen inthe present,past,or future. Thanks!
