I think we’ve all been through it: Self-loathe. Anxiety. Depression. Betrayal from the people we used to love. Losing friends. Hating ourselves for making mistakes. Blaming ourselves for our failures. Eating disorder. Body dysmorphia. Endless insecurities. We try so hard to be accepted by a corrupted society that has absurd and impossible standards, we tend to forget to be our true and authentic selves. Most of us are stuck with the idea that people would still judge us based on what we’ve done in the past, as if we still live in it. We tolerate people who make us feel as if we don’t deserve anything good in this world, and then call them our “friends”. And then you’d rather hate yourself for things you can’t control, when in the first place, there’s nothing wrong with you. You can’t force people to accept you for who you are and get them to love your flaws. Darling, you are growing and you are still learning. You are capable of change. But one thing I’ve recently learned, we shouldn’t let ourselves be our own enemies. It’s going to take so much time before you finally learn the art of self-love, but it’s definitely worth it.
