TOPIC: KINDNESS IS GODLINESS TEXT: 2 Peter 1:7- *"And to godliness brotherly kindness ; and to brotherly kindness love."* The story of Esther could have ended badly if not that God positioned her uncle as a ladder. We know that God can lay it in a person's heart to be of help to another, and that individual can choose to have a mind of his own and do contrary; that wasn't Modecai's case. He was more than a parent, he was an angel in the form of man. The demise of Esther's parents was meant to put on hold God's master plan for her, but she had help. May God station helpers for us all the way.... A lot of children with great destinies became orphans and the door to their great tomorrow was permanently shut and the key thrown into the sea. That was the fate that would have befallen Esther had Mordecai not taken his place. "And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter." How are you to the people around you that are vulnerable? Wherever you find yourself, you can be an extension of God: teach them morals; remind them of God and eternity, ask about their gifts, abilities, and spiritual strengths. Ask about their dreams and burdens and what they want to achieve before they exit life. That seeming insignificant chap may hold the destinies of nations in his hands. Rebecca went to inquire about her discomfort and was given a shocker- two nations are in your womb. We never know how far our little acts of kindness can go in shaping people for life, and will never know who among the ones we cross path with on daily basis is a step to eternity. To our mummies with maids; treat them well. ( Just like you will want your daughter to be treated - they aren't less human) Commander Naaman's deliverance was occasioned by the maid in his house. He must have been a dad to her. Never forget that life is in seasons. A maid today can become the first lady tomorrow. But above all, love them because you were once a nobody but for the love of Jesus! "But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins." (2Peter 1:9) The world is full to bursting point of hard- hearted, cruel and cold blooded folks; be like Jesus! Spread hope, joy and love... Remember, Jesus loved us even when we never knew Him. We pray that He plants that same love in us. Shalom!
