DAILY DEVOTIONAL TOPIC: HE IS NOT HERE By Pastor Sarah Joseph Jonathan 18th October, 2021. *Mark 16:6- “…Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: He is risen; He is not here: behold the place where they laid Him.”* Our Lord Jesus made it a priority to make His disciples be in the know of His life mission- to die and save the world, but they quickly forgot that He promised to rise on the third day, and went a mourning after His death. The angel told the women that came to the tomb to go and tell Jesus’ disciples and Peter that the Lord is risen, but they didn’t believe. Mary Magdalene was the first to see the risen Lord, and she hastily ran into the house to give them the joyful news: behold, the Bible records that they not only mourned but wept, *“And when they had heard that He was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not,”* (V:11) The message today is straight: Where are you in the Lord’s agenda? Are you on the same page with the Lord, or has He gone ahead of you and is wondering why you love to stay backstage when He would rather you be in front row? A lot of us are seeking Jesus for non essentials when He has great things in store for us. The reason those great things He has for us eludes us is because we aren’t yet ready to align and bow to His will. Jesus kept sending people to tell His disciples of His resurrection, but they chose mourning. They could have at least go check the empty tomb for themselves and decide on what to believe, but they mourned and affirmed what Confucius said that, *“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.”* Jesus is not here; He has risen! Let’s rise and go meet Him, or else we would be operating from a level alien to His’. What did He say about what you are going through?
