TOPIC: WHERE IS YOUR HEART? TEXT: Matthew 6:21- "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Mathew records that Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea side. The sea side is calm, relaxing and natural. He was simply enjoying His creation. But before long, great multitudes gathered together unto Him upsetting the calm... But, why not? His presence was a force. Wherever He was, people flocked round Him like bees. He had to leave where they were and went into a ship and sat; still, the people "the whole multitude stood on the shore." The people were hungry for something. And Jesus always had something out of the box for them. Who gets tired of receiving life? It was there by the sea side that He told them the parable of the sower. A parable that talks about the importance and place of hearing the Word and its application. 1. The sower left home carrying seeds to sow. Well tended seeds ultimately turn into a harvest. (Till eternity, the master sower will keep sowing seeds into the lives of His people, the question is, will you be available when He comes with His seeds, and will you patiently tend it until there's an harvest?) 2. As He sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came up and devoured them. Fowls are always looking for grain. They had right to it because it was in their way- on d ground. (How is your heart?- a wayside? ) If your heart is a wayside, know for sure that no seed sown will survive there. You will keep hearing, and demonic fowls will keep coming to devour before it germinates . And so , we need to really do an inspection of our hearts: is your heart encumbered with earthly or heavenly treasures? Earthly treasures includes:our bank accounts, jobs, businesses, houses, wealth, family, education, connections ... The wise knows that their lives are not really theirs and that they may be called anytime to give account, and so, they focus more on having heavenly treasures. .. *Set your heart on things above. ..* LET US PRAY: Dear father, whatever I am and have came from You. Help me to pursue You more than that distraction weighing on me....
