ISAIAH 54: 2-3- *Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thy habitations; spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; for thou shall break forth on the right hand and on the left;...”* Every serious Christian wants more of God’s glory and power, the same way any sane human wants more money, influence and power. It is however sad to note that not all are ready to do more, and that is where we deceive ourselves. 365 verses in the Bible have the phrase *“if you...”* in them; that tells us that we have a lot to do in the achievement of our dreams. Simply praying, confessing powerful portions of the Bible and oiling our feet for every step we take, are not enough to make us break forth on the right and on the left as our key verse promises; we must build capacity for more. Capacity is the ability to receive or contain. God cannot give you more if you have no space for it. You must be in a position to receive for it to be given. What do you want from God? What are you desperate for? If you want more, get ready to do more. Think higher, pray more fervently, fast more- some mountains only bow to fasting; eat the word of God more, believe God more. Take note of the verbs used in Isaiah 54:2-3: *Enlarge, stretch, spare not, lengthen and strengthen.* It takes effort to do all these. Do away with all the distractions and things cluttering up your ability to receive what God wants to do in your life, and make room for more. Do away with laziness, disobedience, sinful habits and all the things preventing you from seeing the glory of God and impeding your spiritual progress One sure way to build capacity is to go for knowledge. Knowledge is power. We look at doctors with awe and respect, not just because of their white coat but because of what they know. Knowledge of the word of God and the spiritual gives you power with God and men. That is why I grieve for Christians who play with church and especially the WORD, a Christian without the word is a weaponless warrior. Proverbs 10:14 says that *"Wise men lay up knowledge...”* they never stop gathering knowledge because that is what gives them an edge in life. Satan preys on our ignorance to deprive us of our blessings: he told Eve, *“...You will be like God,”* meanwhile God created them to be like Him. If Eve had taken their fellowship time with God serious, she would have told Satan that, *“that’s no news, tell me something new.”* It is not too late to grow in knowledge, and definitely possible to increase capacity. Start now! LET US PRAY: Father, thank you for the grace to grow. Help me to go for knowledge, and to keep growing in my knowledge of you.
