TOPIC: I DON'T BELIEVE IN YOU TEXT: Mark 6:6- "And He marvelled because of their unbelief ..." Have you ever felt belittled and smelt the odour of disdain? The amazing thing about it is that it does mostly come from people who knows something about your past and present or a little about you. Jesus of Nazareth went to His village, and was in the temple as His custom was; He not only taught them the Word but spoke with such power that the people became uneasy and began to ask right there in His presence: *"From whence hath this man these things?... Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James and Joses, and of Judah, and Simon, and are not His sisters here with us? And they were offended at Him."* The Nazarenes exposed too much of their small minds to the world when they outrightly despised Jesus because of familiarity, and asked: (paraphrased) *"Where are all these coming from? You cannot change our mindset about you; you will always be the carpenter next door..."* That same attitude is the reason why a lot of people can't be blessed. Jesus went prepared to bless them; He had done miracles that they were privy of but it meant nothing to them. They couldn't bring themselves to accept Him and to bow before the grace in Him; the result was: *"And He could there do no mighty work, save that He laid His hands upon a few sick folks and healed them."* No one can change your opinion about others, but sometimes our opinions are the reasons why God can't reach us. Can we learn to look away from 'people' and begin to see the God in them? God won't stop using men to reach men just because you are offended at them. And you never can dictate to God about the vessels He chooses to use per time. I also want to believe that it is part of the reason why out of ten lepers cleansed by Jesus, only one (a Samaritan) came back to appreciate Him. It hurts when people you labour for, see no reason to acknowledge, nor show appreciation. Jesus asked with disappointment: *"Where are the nine?"* Are you among the nine? May the Lord heal our heart .....
