TOPIC: NOW THAT WE STILL HAVE TIME TEXT: Genesis 6:14- Make thee an ark of gopher wood, rooms shalt thou make in the ark If there's anything to learn from Noah, it is that God is patient and that He keeps His words. "....So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing where to I sent it" (Isaiah 55:11) The rooms made in the ark could have been occupied by humans but animals took their place because all of God's warning fell on deaf ears. The fate of the old world is something that should keep us on our toes: God didn't just warn Noah of the impending doom- destruction of the world; but He gave them ample time to reconsider, repent and be safe, but they were so accustomed to doing evil that they couldn't retrace their steps back. And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Someone may be tempted to say that it's not recorded that Noah warned the people, but the fact that He was a preacher of righteousness as attested in Peter 2:5 makes us believe that He didn't just preach but warned the old world. More scary is what Jesus told us in Matthew 24:37-39, that just as it was in the days of Noah, so shall the coming of the Son of man be: preachers will be preaching, plans will be ongoing, sin increasing, merriment on the rise, ... until when the stop button will be pressed, and man will realize that all the warnings were actually true about life and eternity. Dear believer in Christ, don't just claim to be a child of God; make sure God counts you as one of His children! These aren't the times to be at ease knowing that you have not settled the issue of your eternal destiny. What excuse will you give Jesus if you wake up on the other side of eternity any time soon? Now that you have time, commit to Jesus, and begin a walk with Him. It pays to serve Jesus! May God give us the power to live for and with him in Jesus' Name ...
