TOPIC: NOW IS THE TIME TEXT: John 11:29- *"As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came to Him."* There's so much that needs to be done, but how we love to take our time! We never seem to be in a hurry when it comes to spiritual matters, but are forever in a hurry for things that are not only earthly, but which are not guaranteed to add a second to our lives. The story of the wise and foolish virgins come to mind: The wise ones made adequate preparations, taking cognizance of eventualities, while the foolish ones only had plans. How they must have hated themselves for not doing the needful when they had the opportunity. Tomorrow is not guaranteed; the next moment is unpredictable; we only have now. When Mary heard that Jesus had come, she rose quickly, and came to Him. She understood that the master must not be kept waiting. How do we treat our heavenly father? Are we excited to come into His presence? Are we passionate about His work? *"Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; they are white already for harvest."*(John 4:35) What about those that are yet to create space for Jesus in their hearts? The implication is that He is outside. Do you think He will knock forever? *"Wherefore as the Holy Ghost says, today if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts."* ( Hebrews 3:7-8) Wise people don't give room to chance. So long as it has to do with the master, they jump at the first call like Mary. They make haste like Abraham to give the master the best. ( Genesis 18:6) They don't ask God questions, instead, ask how they can be useful to Him like Saul did: *"What will Thou have me do Lord?"*(Acts 9:6) Isn't it time we stopped behaving like the foolish virgins who knew the right thing to do but delayed until it was too late? Who is planning on getting serious with God? Get down to it now. You know that God has deposited something in you that will bless your world, but waiting for a convenient time to launch out, God is saying that now is the time to start; right where you are, and with what you have.
