I think we need to scrutinize the health condition of the President. He is already old. And by that, he might not be mentally fit to make the right decisions for our country. We already have a problem with our justice system, instead of fixing it, we are making it worse. I don't care about the yellows or DDS thingy, but I hate politicians. All of them. I havent seen or have known of a single politician who has been naturally pro-filipino. It should be the citizen versus the goverment, not government making citizens fight each other. We have come to the point that Filipinos are very much divided. And the government making wrong decisions will not improve it

I know that our President is just being nice, and maybe that US marine show a good conduct. But he was sentenced for 10 years and we must follow the laws....and another thing he is not the only one who shows good conduct in the prison, and I think it's unfair to others. Even if he changed into good one, he MUST pay for what he did. He ended someones life in a brutal way add that to the reason why he must pay for what he did, 'coz no one have the right to end someones life except God. Actually, mostly these days, if someone killed a person he/she will sentence a lifetime in prison.

In my opinion our President should not give a pardon to that person because for me even the 10 years to be in jail is not enough for him to pay on what he did how much more the 5 years. I believe that every criminal should be given a chance but they should also be given some time to pay on what they did for Pemberton 10 years is enough just to show to the family of the victim that he already pay what he did and for them to have a peace of mind,,..it’s just my opinion

It's injustice to gave pardon to someone who killed an innocent individual. Although that marine shows a good conduct what he did will still remained. The pain that the family felt still lingered to them, amd now that the man was given pardon I know for sure the pain still haunts them. I hope President shows some consideration. Some ofw's was been sentenced to death also but some country doesn't shows any mercy. A crime is a crime that should be paid. No VIP treatment. Just think of the day that the marine killed Jennifer, didn't he ever shows good conduct even a bit? Didn't he ever hesitate to not killed Jennifer? Knowing that he killed her brutally.

It is not right. US Embassy released a statement that they didnt understand why president Duterte grants an absolute pardon to Pemberton. The president didn't do any coordination in the US. I am sure that the president have some kind of hidden agenda.

I'm not really familiar with this issue..maybe the family of the victim is really disappointed to the president's decision, and President will gain another wave of hatred because he gave pardon to that US Marine, another criticism for him. anyway goodluck to all participants .

This is why sentences means nothing nowadays. You can get a very harsh one and be liberated on so many grounds and fast afterward. Often it will leave scars to the loved ones much longer than the sentence. This pardon is not a good thing. Also how much of a bad conduct can you have in a prison?

No, I'm not favor in Duterte's decision to give pardon to that foreigner, i think that's not self defense, yeah we consider that our ofw with death penalty fix its case but in this case there is an evidence, and I think it's clear that it is not self defense.

Its been a long while about this issue and actually i just know it now about this pardoning . Well for me ill go with the president decision and support him.i know 5 years is not enough punishment but who am i question about it. I have no idea what the real story about this incident, i dont why he do that or why it happened. A lot of scenario that i could get the right answer. So i think mr. President is doing what is just right.

I don't think so. What if it's just a scheme? I'm just suggesting a possibility here. Well that may be true that he's doing good but what about the other people in the prison who's doing good too? Did they already get a pardon? We know we are living in an unjust world and we don't know what is happening to others. If he accidentally killed her, I might agree with the president. But he brutally did it. I can't express what will the family of the victim will go through because of this. Well, whatever happens, there must be a huge reason for the future.

I don't think this is just. You can't just free a man because of "good conduct". How will they justify how he killed Jennifer Laude? Justice isn't serve here very well. He took a life. Of an innocent woman. A life! for God's sake. He brutally killed her. The punishment isn't enough. I'm not a judge, nor a God to know and judge other people, nut in my opinion, pemberton shouldn't be pardon. What he did was unforgettable. And unforgivable.

To be honest, I'm not really agree that President duterte was the one that set free the one that killed the transgender named Jennifer Laude, that soldier should complete his 10 years imprisonment, I don't know what Laude's family was thinking now, maybe there so disappointed...
